Ambush Bug here. Looks for more of the Holes rambling about comics on Poptards, follow us on Facebook here, and in future AICN COMICS columns!

....have you been getting paid? It's none of my business of course, but I'm really curious if a few pennies from that latest copy of the Jungle Book I bought actually made their way to you... http://tinyurl.com/cpe2jyx

Can't speak for anyone else, but it's never been an issue with me.
-
looks mighty fine.......that'll do pig.

Holy fuck it's been well over a decade since I've heard anyone mention Eternal Warrior.

I'm totally on board with the new Valiant stuff. I had pretty much all the books. Though I never got to collect all the Magnus Robot Fighter & Dr.Mirage issues.
-
Anytime anyone wants to talk about Valiant comics is OK with me. I sometimes think I am the only one who really loved the Unity storyline and the whole Valiant universe.

I don't think I've ever read a valiant comic in my life until this rebootening..

Nor did I know there was such love for it out there! But like the Sandman books, that everyone loves but I can't stomach the art enuff to actuall read all the way through, I'm worried about going back and reading the originals.. How is the art on the older Valiant books?
-
Depends on your sensibilities. The stuff from Barry Windsor Smith is gorgeous in my opinion, but some will call it ugly. As for the rest, I loved it, but I have heard some of the whipper snappers out there call it 70s van art. If you can get to a comic shop I would highly recommend checking out some of the old trades ;-p

thumbs up on the show, it's good mutherfuckers

Stellar fucking endorsement... Bikerz completes my Wednesday

I am so glad to hear you guys liked Mutant X. I was the Assistant editor on that book back in the day. Tom drew me and my boss Frank into the 2nd issue on the 1st double page spread. I'm the guy with goatee and brown hair. It was a great book to work on we really had a lot of freedom to mess with stuff.
-
Hey Jason, thanks for weighing in. I was the lone dissenter on Mutant X; as I recall, the later issues were pretty dire. But that's no bearing on you, since IIRC you were caught up in one of the waves of Marvelcution shortly after the series launched. Must have been a difficult time to work at Marvel.
-
Yeah, I'm not usually one for alternate timelines for the X-characters, but something about Mutant X really grabbed me and I remember always really looking forward to reading it as it came out. I'll have to see if I can track down some trades so I can re-read them
-
I don't think Mutant X was ever collected. Generally they only seem to do collections of '90s comics when there's a huge demand or some sort of movie tie-in.

After going to see The Dark Night Rises you should check out the Frank Miller comic of him coming out of retirement, it goes together very nicely. http://youtu.be/Bn-HZUlFZA8
