I've not read Yann Martel's book THE LIFE OF PI, but it's built up a large following since its release in 2001, and a few directors have circled the project since the book's publication. But Ang Lee has definitely put his own personal touch on the material judging from the imagery that we get in this new trailer. It's quite beautiful, and I may have to pick up the book just to see what the fuss is about. Yes, some scenes look obviously CGI but there's a dreamlike quality to the images that makes it not matter. It's an impressive trailer, and I'm very curious to see the finished product.
