HERCULES ON THE RADIO!!
Aint It Cool’s TV Critic Chats Up The Great Writer Jane Espenson, She Of BUFFY, FIREFLY, DS9, GALACTICA, CAPRICA, GILMORE, THRONES, TORCHWOOD, OC, ANGEL, DOLLHOUSE And THE BATMAN Fame!! Listen And Call In LIVE 8pm PT Saturday!!

I am – Hercules!!

On Saturday night’s radio show, the KERN Krew and I will be chatting up prolific TV writer Jane Espenson, holder of one of the best resumes in television.

Jane was booked on the show weeks ago, but she coincidentally penned “Earshot” -- one of my favorite “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” episodes -- and the mind-reading episode that was yanked from The WB’s schedule at the last minute.

The reason “Earshot” was yanked? It depicted troubled student Jonathan Levinson loading a rifle on Buffy’s Sunnydale High School campus -- and it was set to air exactly one week after the April 20, 1999, Columbine High School massacre.

Stiil not timely enough for this “Dark Knight Rises” weekend? Espenson also wrote (with fellow Buffy alum Doug Petrie) 2007’s two-part “The Joining” episode of “The Batman.”

More recently, Espenson wrote a whopping six of last season’s 22 episodes of ABC’s “Once Upon A Time.”

On Aug. 15 she launches (on LoveHusbands.com) season two of her super-gay Web series “Husbands” with a hilarious premiere featuring guest stars Tricia Helfer (“Battelstar Galactica”), Dichen Lachman (“Dollhouse,” “Being Human”) and hot newcomer Joss Whedon (“Angel,” “Veronica Mars”) as “The Agent.”

The radio show airs Saturday 8:05 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific Time.

No matter where you are you can listen to the show LIVE by hitting the “Listen Live” button at kernradio.com.

Best of all, you, constant reader, can join this very nerdy conversation.

The toll-free call-in line is:
1-800-640-5376

Call in drunk, as I always do, but watch your language. This is not a podcast. This monster goes out over the air on all 50,000 watts of Southern California’s KERN-AM.
