Svetlana Khodchenkova Slithers Towards Playing Viper In THE WOLVERINE!!

I'm not too sure why Jessica Biel decided to pass on the offer to play Viper in THE WOLVERINE, James Mangold's sequel to the not-very-good X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. (She should have grabbed the first thing available before the TOTAL RECALL remake, which I'm hearing is rather awful, sees the light of day in a couple of weeks and hurts whatever stock she has at the moment.)
In any event, 20th Century Fox isn't going to waste their time crying over spilled Biel, and has moved onto another candidate for the role - Sventlana Khodchenkova.
Twitch reports that the Russian actress who was most recently seen Stateside in TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY is close to a deal with Fox to join their Wolverine sequel.
Gotta give some credit to Fox here in their desire to move quickly in getting THE WOLVERINE near production. Let's just hope they make much better choices this time around than they did for Hugh Jackman's first solo film as Logan.

the madame hydra viper was eastern european. as for the whole what about madame hydra and captain america thing, i would guess its the same as with quicksilver and scarlet witch. they can use her, but can't reference captain america & red skull hydra. would be nice if they could arrange something, but im betting they will not

I've always said it was a shame they didn't cast a Russian or some other Slavic broad as Black Widow in the Marvel films...the place in crawling with the most amazing, sensual, violently sexual women the world has ever seen. And I'm sure there are some very very fine actresses there as well. Does he only fight babes? I'd like to see Wolverine to fight a big bad behemoth, one that's not Sabretooth. Dream fight would be a Wolverine vs. Hulk movie but that will never happen :(

Over at Huffington Post. Secretive plot line but all signs point to the rumored Days Of Future Past storyline. I guess they feel the need to figure in Wolverine into the premix by using the old time travel plot line. Sorry for the lack of link. Typing on my iPhone.

That I should cut back on the wacky back is debatable and probably true. But I'd always assumed Rimini was about twenty (for some reason I thought she was older than Zack) when she did SBTB. I figured this Russian girl is in her early-twenties, which is why I drew the comparison to that Rimini, and not the character on King of Queens.
