Cameron Crowe's UNTITLED movie has a website!!!

Published at:  Apr 18, 2000 2:53:41 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here. I was tooling around today, and stumbled across the website for Cameron Crowe's UNTITLED. I found the link at Coming Attractions and then went and checked it out myself at Vinyl-Films.Com/Index.Html

It's presented in it's on funky style. The front page of the site has only had 361 hits, when I went to check it out. It's very small and modest... It has that odd, text sliding over an old washed out grey picture background... Just like the good ol days of my site. Before all this blasted new fangled technology and people started doing code stuff for me, and it was just my own perverse sense of style.

The pictures, the album covers... everything about this site just looks cool. And while checking this out... I just couldn't help but think about the 3 reviews we've run about the film. John Robie's, Gregor Samsa's and Seque Zagnut's reviews of that early test screening. 3 long timers, all absolutely blown away by the film. I've been watching Cameron Crowe influenced movies for a long time.... either written or directed by him. I'm dying to see his latest.

The Album covers look fucking top! I can't wait to hear the soundtrack ! Who's covering the actors musically? Perhaps it's the Guitarist-Singer Dynamo of Tuffnel and St Hubbins...?

    UGLY ASS WEBSITE

    by filmnazi

that is one hack job of a website. It looks like it was thrown together in a couple of minutes. Harry's desgn team should give them a call.

PS: UGLY ASS HIT COUNTERS ARE A SIGN OF A POOR WEBSITE (personal humble opinion)!

    Klunky but fun

    by monkeylucifer

Yeah, the site is amatuerish, but I think that's the point. It's got the feel of a fan made geo-cities page, just without the damn pop-up ads. My favorite bit is the Stillwater family tree, especially the description of the band "Grandma's Closet" ---> "Unusual Ann Arbor folk trio noted for playing only instrumentals and having pro-Vietnam war stance." Love that font too.....

Cameron Crowe has been on the net a long time

    by fangrrl

I saw him a couple of times on Prodigy. I wouldn't be surprised if he did that website himself.

Wow, a simple, cool site with no bullshit pop-ups...

    by 33.3rpm

    ...I remember those.

Does anyone out there recognize the bass player in Stillwater? It's Mark Kozelek from the band Red House Painters. They have put out about 7 albums over the last decade and are fucking AMAZING! Am I the only one that knows them?

Awsome band! I only own 3 albums: "Ocean Beach", "Songs for a Blue Guitar", and "Retrospective," but they all occupy steady space in my CD player.

    about that "ugly ass website"...

    by ambrose chappell

Some of you don't seem to be getting the site's design. It's *suppossed* to look bad. Fer Christ's sake, it's suppossed to be a fan's website for a real band NOT a site for a movie. I for one think it's a pretty cool marketing idea, kinda like the site for GALAXY QUEST. Don't overexert yourselves on my account. I can feel your brain cells popping from here...

fanboy fantasia (and why i'll never be able to watch 'the piano'

    by tommy five-tone

from what i can gather, the film's about being a fan, and the site - with that home-made, low-tech vibe to it - reflects that too. crowe's a smart guy, but he's also a big geek at heart...god bless him for it, i say. and god bless him for turning anna paquin into a '70s-style love goddess with flexible morals and some dynamite cleavage. like i said, how am i supposed to watch 'the piano' after seeing this picture of polexia? DAMN!

Not only has he not been fucked by the corporate bitch so hard that he doesn't "get" the site,
but that picture of Anna Paquin made my teeth fall out, and I don't have dentures.
    Cheers!!

    Ain't It Pure Advertisement

    by robothalo

Man, talk about a slow newsday. How does the term "cool news" apply to the announcement of a movie Web site? Seriously, I like the site for its suppossed insider information. But more and more, it seems to becoming a constantly updated love letter to Hollywood. Where's the bad ass info, Harry? We need more.
