Mads Mikkelsen Is Out Of THOR 2!!
The Kidd here...
THOR 2 is now down a villain and will be forced to go casting once again with word that Mads Mikkelsen is out of the Marvel Studios solo follow-up.
In an interview with Zoom.in UK on the set of his new movie MOVE ON, Mikkelsen explained how his involvement with the HANNBAL TV series produced a bit of a scheduling obstacle that couldn't be overcome in order for him to be a part of the THOR sequel.
With rumors that Mikkelsen might have been the Executioner, potentially paired up with the yet-to-be-cast Enchantress, along with a sidelined Loki, Thor has a full plate to deal with... it just won't involve Mikkelsen any longer.

Mikkelsen's presence alone would have made Thor 2 less shitty than number one. Another tip for the sequel: make Thor's armor not look like cheap plastic.

Everything I see from googling Executioner is a big fucking hulking mass of muscle. Now granted, big hulking mass of muscle dudes that do exist in the real world probably aren't lined up for casting calls, but they at least need someone with some "weight", right? I seem to remember the same argument when whats-his-face was cast as Bane in Batman...outcry about how he wasn't big enough or some such shit. Whatever, I wait with bated breath (and tissues in hand) to see who is cast as the Enchantress. Which would really be the only thing that would put my ass in a theater seat for Thor 2.

I also think Clancy Brown is kinda past his prime. I've seen his work in Shoot to Kill, Highlander, Pet Sematary 2, and he would be great in Thor 2, but he's getting really old, and he's basically doing voicework for SpongeBob now. It's probably a good idea for someone else to do this, but that's just my opinion.

Why are people dropping out of films for this HANNIBAL tv show? Same thing was given as the excuse for David Slade dropping director duties on "Daredevil." Now Mads...for the same reason? Something doesn't jive.

cause think about it... its kinda easy to be grim, but we need somebody who can do the "he stood alone at Gjallerbru" scene and make us very sad. It was the greatest moment during Walt Simonson's run on Thor and I am not the only one who thinks so. http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/04/12/walt-simonson-thor/ so if it were Colin Ferguson... that moment of sacrifice would work really well.
