THE DARK KNIGHT SMELLS!
Beaks here...
Come on. You've considered it at least once. What would happen if Christopher Nolan adapted the Batman-centric "Jingle Bells" parody we all used to sing when we were kids? Well, wonder no more.
This is gloriously juvenile work of Derrick Comedy's Dan Eckman, Meggie McFadden and D.C. Pierson. Bless them.

Really where did this rhyme come from? I remember it as a kid over 40 years ago.
by Cedric Ford
-
...next is "Deck the halls with Batman's balls" I'm guessing.

Most amusing.

I thought it was going to be a negative review for "Dark Knight Rises."
-
Just...just bad.
-
I see some dickheads here are turning indifference into hatred. Don't pretend you're all intellectual adults you morons, you just opened a Batman fan movie video.
-
Spends the first 20 paragraphs talking about his childhood, the history of the character, all the previous movies, his journey to the theater to watch Rises, and the audience atmosphere before the movie.
-
but this was unfunny and shit. am i a dickhead?
-
Wow, that was so not what I was expecting to see, I thought it was fucking lame.
-
Or are you just trigger happy and open any video you see on the internet?

And the Joker got away! The ballet part makes no sense at all.
by MariusXe
-
I've always wondered: is it a regional thing? Like how different parts of the country say 'soda' and others say 'pop'? As a kid in southern California, it was "Joker got away". As I recall, Matt Groening (from Oregon) used "and Commisioner broke his leg", which is the only time I've heard of that variant.

Better luck next time, but don't do it too often please, you may loose some cred.

Let's just let the Joker sing it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSCN48XReMU

Not took ballet.

uh... I don't see any problem with the rhyming. Jingle Bells / Batman Smells (rhymes A/A) Robin Laid an Egg (B) Batmobile /Lost a Wheel (C/C) And the Joker Lost His Leg (B) Makes perfect sense and meter to me. Maybe it's your tin mule ears.
-
We used to sing: - Jingle Bells / Batman smells Robin flew away Uncle Billy / Lost his willy On the motorway That last part was pretty random but it made us laugh.
-
we always did "Joker got away" I didn't even know there was a variation
-
Seriously.
-
...Joker's in the bathroom - peeing on the wall!!
-
...but it's still funny

I'm Popeye the Sailor Man I lives in a garbage can I eat all the worms And spit out the germs I'm Popeye the Sailor Man Toot! Toot! OR: I'm Popeye the Sailor Man I lives in a garbage can I likes to go swimmin' Wit bow-legged wimmin I'm Popeye the Sailor Man etc.

@dr eric vornoff, Uncle Billy lost his willy on the M4 motorway ;)
by KEVIN_COSTNERS_RECYCLED_PISS
The British version was a lot more random. Does anyone remember... My brother Billy had a ten foot willy He showed it to the girl next door She thought it was a snake so she hit it with a rake Now it's only five foot four.
-
were "The Joker got away" and "The Joker broke his leg"

joker took ballet makes no sense at all. its joker got away because you see, the batmobile lost its wheel so batman couldnt catch him. not sure why he couldnt just run to him or fly in the batwing but yeah. :P

Joker Ballet – Appears to be a timing association as opposed to location based
by I_Snake_Plissken
I grew up and currently live in Northern California – I grew up singing “Joker got away.” My kids came home from school singing “Joker tried ballet.” After multiple attempts to correct them, I realized that the ballet option appears to be the norm now. At first I figured it was some PC bullshit rearing its ugly head, but it just doesn’t make sense. My theory is some kid misheard it (a la “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon”) and it caught on.

Not really funny or all that clever. Just a straight up literal version of the rhyme
by atlatl
Whatever happened to writing funny sketches?? It's like these high profile sketch troupes are just concerned about making videos with high production values. I saw the Dora the Explorer parody trailer with the girl from Modern Family. Again amazing production values which equals tons of viral views, not not all that funny. Comedy videos suck these days.
-
Don't know about the other kids, they never talked to me.
-
at 42 years of age, I ain't never heard of such crap as 'and the joker took ballet' until this very video.

Just saw a preview for a Batman parody web series. Thought it was much funnier than this, but that's just me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMXh7k0xEa4

You think because you wear a cape you can be me?
-
The last sequence, Bane has Batman on the ropes. "You think because you wear a cape you can be me?" "I'm not the only one in a cape." Then Superman from the new Superman movie smashes through the ceiling and stops Bane from hurting Batman. He then helps rebuilds the city, while Batman recuperates.
-
...not Batman related, but we've been trying our hand at Sketch comedy...

I remember a Batman: The Animated Series where the Joker escaped prison on Christmas and sang that song.
by sweeneydave
It was on the old 1992 series.
-
from the early 70s in Athens, Georgia

Seems like there's not a clear pattern (with the exception of the more recent 'ballet' version), but 'Joker got away' is the mot common. In any case, this is infinitely more interesting to me than the actual video this TB is about.
-
That was hilarious.

Seems fitting
