Obama could beat a disabled war veteran to death on live television, and people would still say "Yeah, but I'm still not that enthusiastic about Romney."

  • I'm read many polls that say the exact opposite. Reguardless off your political viewpoint most polls can't be trusted.

HULK SMASH FRACKING POLLUION! PUNY PULLUTORS

    by Matthew

Bruce Banner did decide he can't not be hulk and to help people. The movie writes itself. As Far as Romney he has the racist vote, the religious right vote, the super wealthy vote, and the gun conspiracy nut vote. If I was a republican which I am not, I would want Romney to not win so the party can get its stuff together. I think the GOP is to right wing extreme. I don't even know who the real Mitt Romney is. He seemed more liberal as governor. I don't like Bain capitol much. They made a huge profit while KB Toys went under, they could of used the money Bain made to stay operating. Being a laid off former union worker I would never vote Republican ever. I don't like libertarians either but I am all for ending the wars including the drug war. I do feel Obama is killing people that would want to kill us, at least I hope. Some too many words thoughts...not looking to troll republicans, just what I think

I do what I can to avoid commercials

    by Matthew

I am ready to shoot my tv like Elvis with all the anti and pro Romney/ anti and pro Obama commercials. Maybe we all can agree that this over a year running for election is stupid and crazy. Romney has been running for years now, longer than the actual presidency it seems. Congress is every two years for pete's sake. All they do is run for election and nothing gets done.

  • Plus on a side note, I wonder how many fans of The Avengers may have sorta casually forgotten that helping to enable Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr have excellent chemistry in their Avengers scenes together was the dynamic they'd already built for themselves back in Fincher's ZODIAC (though ironically of course their characters were far more contentious in that).

re "yea, whatever the FUCK u do, dont cherry pick polls!!!"

    by Hercules

Wait, did I cherry-pick those polls? Are we certain? Didn't Real Clear Politics simply aggregate ALL the most recent national polls? As they always do? From Wikipedia: 'RealClearPolitics is a political news and polling data aggregator[2] based in Chicago, Illinois. The site's founders say their goal is to give readers "ideological diversity."[3] They have described themselves as frustrated with what they perceive as anti-conservative, anti-Christian media bias,[4] and while some have suggested the commentary is conservative-leaning,[5] the site includes columns and commentary from both sides of the political spectrum.'

  • June 29, 2012, 10:38 p.m. CST

yea, CHERRY PICK the fucking polls, u freaking HACK...

    by jay2517

yes, im certain. From Wikipedia: *Cherry picking, suppressing evidence, or the fallacy of incomplete evidence is the act of pointing to individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position, while ignoring a significant portion of related cases or data that may contradict that position. It is a kind of fallacy of selective attention, the most common example of which is the confirmation bias. Cherry picking may be committed unintentionally.[1] The term is based on the perceived process of harvesting fruit, such as cherries. The picker would be expected to only select the ripest and healthiest fruits. An observer who only sees the selected fruit may thus wrongly conclude that most, or even all, of the fruit is in such good condition. Cherry picking can be found in many logical fallacies. For example, the "fallacy of anecdotal evidence" tends to overlook large amounts of data in favor of that known personally, "selective use of evidence" rejects material unfavorable to an argument, while a false dichotomy picks only two options when more are available.* so, Herc, u freaking *republican* hack, when do u post POLLS that show Republican/Conservative issues/leaders in a positive light?? u completely fucking pathetic...

    Da Polls

    by Stygian

Polls don't mean shit. It depends on the state the survey is in. If it's on the internet, it automatically becomes dubious. An poll that favors Obama is a joke. In conclusion, FUCK liberal-cumshot Bill Maher, and (I say this nicely) screw your polls Herc.

What's going on guys? Hope all of you are doing well. Man, was it hot today. Got in the Explorer and it said 110. Mcgoo, I would watch Battle Royale. As you know I watched it this week. I thought it was a hoot. The only others I have seen are John Carter and Tower Heist. I would put Carter before Heist. Just my personal preference. It sounds like you have a good selection to choose from. I want to watch Goon at some point. Your library sure does have some recent releases. I'm sure you like that. All the animated stuff I have found on Netflix so far are movies, no series :( How hot was it in Pa. today? Jay, I went to the pharmacy today and they had an autographed photo of Zach Galifianakis on the wall. They were shooting some scenes in Madison, but they apparently did some shots in my home town of Walkertown. I wish I had known about it. It would have been cool to meet him. Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and we will continue to meet here. Taters.

    @hercules

    by MrLongbaugh

Hello Herc. I am a registered Republican. I can't stand Obama, and to be honest, I don't care for Romney either. I want a canidate that is a straight shooter, isn't in the pocket of special interest groups, and will do what is best for the country. I am sick and tired of our two party system where all they do is fight. I want them to do their job and serve the people. Is that too much to ask of these guys? I am going to copy an paste an article about the Obamacare and some of the changes we will be dealing with. Personally, I am against it. I would love for every man, woman, and child in the country (even the world) to have access to good healthcare. I don't think punishing people for not having health insurance is the answer. If I come up with a solution, my Amigos, and the rest of the AICN community will be the first to know. Here is the article. President Obama's Affordable Care Act, which was deemed constitutional Thursday by the Supreme Court, includes some major tax changes that will take effect next year. Here's a refresher course on how sweeping health-care reform will impact individual taxpayers like you. Medicare Tax Right now, the Medicare tax on salary and/or self-employment (SE) income is 2.9%. If you're an employee, 1.45% is withheld from your paychecks, and the other 1.45% is paid by your employer. If you're self-employed, you pay the whole 2.9% yourself. Starting in 2013, an extra 0.9% Medicare tax will be charged on: (1) salary and/or SE income above $200,000 for an unmarried individual, (2) combined salary and/or SE income above $250,000 for a married joint-filing couple, and (3) salary and/or SE income above $125,000 for those who use married filing separate status. For self-employed individuals, the additional 0.9% Medicare tax hit will come in the form of a higher SE bill. Medicare Tax on Investment Income Right now, the maximum federal income tax rate on long-term capital gains and dividends is only 15%. Starting in 2013, the maximum rate on long-term gains is scheduled to go up to 20% and the maximum rate on dividends is scheduled to increase to 39.6% as the so-called Bush tax cuts expire. [Related: Could the Republicans really repeal Obamacare?] But that's not all. Also starting in 2013, all or part of the net investment income, including long-term capital gains and dividends, collected by higher-income folks can get socked with an additional 3.8% "Medicare contribution tax." Therefore, the maximum federal rate on long-term gains for 2013 and beyond will actually be 23.8% (versus the current 15%) and the maximum rate on dividends will be a whopping 43.4% (versus the current 15%). Yikes! The additional 3.8% Medicare tax will not apply unless your adjusted gross income (AGI) exceeds: (1) $200,000 if you're unmarried, (2) $250,000 if you're a married joint-filer, or (3) $125,000 if you use married filing separate status. The additional 3.8% Medicare tax will apply to the lesser of your net investment income or the amount of AGI in excess of the applicable threshold. Net investment income includes interest, dividends, royalties, annuities, rents, income from passive business activities, income from trading in financial instruments or commodities, and gains from assets held for investment like stock and other securities. (Gains from assets held for business purposes are not subject to the extra tax.) For example, a married joint-filing couple with AGI of $265,000 and $60,000 of net investment income would pay the 3.8% tax on $15,000 (the amount of excess AGI). If the same couple has AGI of $350,000, they would pay the 3.8% tax on $60,000 (the entire amount of their net investment income). $2,500 Cap on Health-Care FSA Contributions Right now, there's no tax-law limit on contributions to your employer's healthcare flexible spending account (FSA) plan (although many plan impose their own limits). Amounts you contribute to the FSA plan are subtracted from your taxable salary. Then you can use the funds to reimburse yourself tax-free to cover qualified medical expenses. Good deal! Starting in 2013, however, the maximum annual FSA contribution for each employee will be capped at only $2,500. Higher Threshold for Itemized Medical Expense Deductions Right now, you can claim an itemized deduction for medical expenses paid for you, your spouse, and your dependents, to the extent the expenses exceed 7.5% of AGI. Starting in 2013, the hurdle is raised to 10% of AGI. However, if either you or your spouse is age 65 or older at yearend, the 10%-of-AGI threshold will not take effect until 2017. That said, the fate of these four ObamaCare-related tax increases may hinge on what the Supreme Court decides next month. So maybe you have more reasons to be interested in that decision than you initially thought. Stay tuned. I'll keep you posted.

the thing about socialized government-run health care?

    by Hercules

Once it's implemented and experienced, everybody -- even the conservatives -- realize it's pretty awesome. Wait till the provisions of ObamaCare kick in in 2014. Or just ask the folks with universal health care in Canada, Britain, Australia, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Finland etc etc etc. Does anyone living there want to pay a few bucks less in taxes to go back to being at the mercy of the insurance companies? Ask around. Don't rely on "I know a guy" heresay. Hop on the Internet and find an actual Canadian or Australian or Londoner and ask if they think they'd prefer to abolish their system and adopt ours. And while you're at it, ask yourself if you want to see Medicare abolished before you turn 62. Because that's socialized medicine too.

  • The schedules have died big time. Seriously what`s good ? and I mean good not acceptable. Not reality TV crap. Not Snookums or whatever. Real writing, story, acting ? Oh yeah i forgot i queued up Justified season 3 in case of dire emergency. At least i got that.

    jay2517 You're a mess.

    by gotilk

We already pay for these people's health care. In emergency rooms where they get patched up at huge expense and sent back out sick to come back again a few days later. No, you're right, nothing is for free. ESPECIALLY a sick, uninsured populace. Don't be thick. They will NEVER turn sick people away, and right now all they do is the most expensive care they offer. I don't get why people like you can't get that through your thick skulls. They will never turn people away!!! EVER!! They may not get free chemotherapy, or the best treatments. But they get them. Then they send a bill that cannot be paid for and life-saving treatments are refused in favor of cheaper options. But they still get treatment. Oh regulation this and capitalism that..... sure sure. The thing people like you fail to see is that keeping a huge company from ripping off millions of people isn't regulation... it's fair LAW. If I can't steal from and rip off people, a fucking company can't either. The medical industry has inflated prices for everything from dialysis (3, 3 hour sessions a week at 40-50 grand a month? riiiight!) to band aids that cost as much as magazines. Why? Because we have a system in place that doesn't punish companies that rip off consumers. They can police OUR asses off, but if it's a company... it's like divine intervention for them. You can say "life isn't fair" until you're blue in the face, but no-one said that fair shouldn't be a GOAL. So far... when it comes to big bidness, it hasn't been. They slap the regulation label on it and call it evil. Why? Because they BOUGHT your politicians and turned their rhetoric into a RELIGION, worshiped blindly by conservative radio listeners and tea party tards all over. There's a reason why your local mom and pop business cannot gouge customers but a huge company can. Because they can afford to pass laws and elect politicians that assure they get away with it. But the best deal these people got, out of all the things they've purchased over the years. Like politicians, laws, etc... IS YOU. And they got you for a pittance. Just hit all the right notes, pick all the right fears and hatreds... and you jumped on board for free. Then they convince you of things like corporations being oppressed and denied free speech. Regulations keeping the economy from growing. The economy here is on a decline because of a few things, one of which is the very things I describe above. It is unsustainable forever. You cannot run a business on lies and false profits indefinitely. Just like tech couldn't survive on over-valued profitless dot com companies. Then the other elephant in the room. The end of rent controls. How can en economy thrive when landlords take such a huge percentage of the average wages that they no longer have money left over at the end of the month to spend on anything? When renters who cannot afford homes think "oh, what the heck, the mortgage payments are less than my rent!!" and actually buy homes they eventually will not be able to afford. Why? Because they're being sucked dry. But no-one, not even the liberals will truly address it. In my town, you can't even get a room with a bathroom and a mini-kitchen in the corner for under 600 a month. That's an imbalance in our economy. Minimum wage should afford a room with a bed and a toilet and a kitchen. If it cannot, your society is in big trouble. Your economy is going into the shitter. The math just doesn't add up. And the owners/landlords making these profits will not fill the gap. There's simply not enough of them. It is a gross, disgusting imbalance. Sure you can move to place that does have cheaper homes and apartments. But they don't have the jobs. They can't fill their properties because the money just isn't there. But when it is... they are allowed to gouge. Nothing is in place, in most places, to prevent it anymore. It's been dismantled or slowly eroded. Put simply.... no money left to spend... no consumer economy. No consumer economy... whole economy goes to shitter. And now people like you want to assure that not only is the majority of the country spinning it's wheels, if they get sick... they can go fuck themselves. Fuck you. You lost. Quit whining under the guise of some kind of moral superiority. It isn't working. It's pathetic.

  • where the fuck do idiots like u get *i endorse corporations etc. blah blah" from my post?? it IS and ALWAYS be about Freedom To Choose what i DO with my money. what do u NOT get about that, dumbass?? YOU choose for the government to MAKE u do something against ur will. YOU'RE ok with that. IM not. i cant wait till the government MAKES u do something u disagree with, methinks ur cheer leading for socialism will fade away. IF the fucking government would allow insurance companies to compete in other sates, a MAJORITY of this shit would go away. again, the GOVERNMENT will not ALLOW that to happen. capitalism is great, when its allowed to happen. but, dullards like u, cant comprehend that and just want to live off the nanny state. Fuck You. leave ME out of ur delusional *utopia" mmk? now, go project onto someone else....

    America wants health care reform.

    by JackDeth

Jay, this may be hard to understand but just because you don't want something doesn't mean that everyone else agrees with you. A huge majority of Americans want health-care reform, and while the ACA is really just health insurance reform, it's still a step in the right direction. Frankly, I'd prefer a system that completely cuts out private health insurance companies. There is no good reason for those companies to exist. All they do is leech off 20-30% of the money being spent on health care. They need to die. Hopefully now, the health care discussion can start to turn towards enacting a single-payer system.

  • Yep. He actually wrote that sentence. No sense of irony or anything. Jay is a national treasure starring Nic Cage.

I am unpersuaded. While every European (and American utilizing European health care) has told me they greatly prefer the socialized European systems to ours, NONE of them tell me they come to the United States to take advantage of our "BEST and most SKILLED mediacl procedures." Your determination to see insurance companies continue to jack up our health care costs and deny coverage is ridiculous and doomed to failure. Once Americans start to benefit from ObamaCare in 2014, it will become as impossible to abolish ObamaCare as it is to abolish Social Security or Medicare.

The thing is, I like having genuine, adult-level discussions about these issues. But every time you try to do that on the internet, some child with access to his mom's laptop jumps on here and tries to emulate the bullies that push him around all day at school. It's hard to take someone like Jay seriously when he puts so much effort into his (lame) insults and yet can't put half of that energy into researching basic facts, like what's actually in the Affordable Care Act. Also, calling Bill Maher a racist or a sexist or just straight up hilariously stupid.

    LMAO at Herc's "heresay"

    by Big Dumb Ape

    >> Herc (quote) : "Don't rely on "I know a guy" heresay. Hop on the Internet and find an actual Canadian or Australian or Londoner and ask if they think they'd prefer to abolish their system and adopt ours." Here in Hollywood I'm friends with 3 Brits and 2 Canadians that come in from out of town to do work. Not one of them -- let me repeat, NOT ONE of them -- likes the socialized health services that they get in their home countries. In fact, they DO routinely take care of assorted medical things when they're here working on films or shows, preferring instead to see American doctors. Their biggest bitch about services back home being insanely long waits to either see a doctor or to schedule an actual procedure to be done... having to tolerate truly shitty doctors that the system refuses to kick out because if they did, the system wouldn't have enough doctors... which ultimately results in piss poor service in a socialized system that's straining (and now buckling under) the weight of so many people getting "free" healthcare -- which means waiting rooms are clogged for every little sniffle or minor toothache that occurs. Plus, just as an added benefit, it likewise makes them grit their teeth whenever they think of the taxes they have to pay. Because nothing spells success like paying through the nose just so you can THEN be treated like shit. Which is why I laugh at Herc's comment. Because it's that classic Liberal defense line "Dont' rely on heresay! Go ONLINE and see what people are saying!" Well, here's the news flash for Herc. For me, it's just the OPPOSITE. In my case I HAVE met actual, flesh and blood REAL people who have told me flat-out, to my face, that they don't just dislike their systems, but fucking HATE THEM with a passion. At which point they'll then gladly tell you that America is fucking nuts for now traveling down the same road. Which means the only "heresay" that I've ever seen IS from people online, from all of the leftists who brag about how "great" socialized medicine. Mind you, NOT because it actually is great or is a system that actually works -- but rather because they're just dying (as usual) to pucker up and superglue their lips to the ass of ANYTHING that's yet another socialized cradle to grave entitlement.

As to the TV topic at hand...where have I been with TRUE JUSTICE?

    by Big Dumb Ape

As to the TV topic at hand, maybe I just blanked the debut of the show from my mind or I just forgot to tune in or something (since this was the finale for Season 2), but I saw a commercial for TRUE JUSTICE on Reelz the other night and thought that it -- like XIII -- was just premiering. So I'm waaaaay out of the loop on this one. That said was it CRAPTACULAR. I can't even believe how shitty this thing was. And what's the deal with Seagal? Was he on drugs filming this thing or what? His acting is atrocious. Mind you, it's not like he's ever been Brando -- but all the same it's jaw-dropping to think this is the same guy who was once so totally bad-ass in ABOVE THE LAW or UNDER SIEGE. Has the show been this horrible since Day One? Or since this was the finale, was it just that Season 2 stunk up the place? Either way, I might have to buy the DVD set for this thing when it comes out just so I can play catch-up. For fuck's sake, who the hell even funds a production THIS cheesy? Nice to know in this shitty economy that someone out there has spare cash to completely flush away!

I know a few people from Canada and South Korea who always go back home for medical procedures due to our FUCKED UP overly expensive health care system...Hell a couple of days ago while on Fox's Good Day L.A. Jillian Reynolds (who's from Canada) got into it with this Right Wing Nutjob, Larry Elder, who tried to convince her that Canada's Socialized Health Care System was subpar, and that she didn't know what she was talking about, even though she was born and raised there...This fool Larry Elder, like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity keep espousing this: "JUST LET THE FREE MARKET CORRECT THE AMERICAN HEALTH CARE DEBACLE", knowing damn well that these private healthcare insurance companies have no desire to drop their prices or change their policies to something more reasonable or affordable due to the OBSCENE profits they're making off the misery of this country's citizens. I remember when the Clintons tried to fix the Healthcare system during their tenure in the White House, and their efforts were shot down by the GOP, who was talkin' the same "FREE MARKET WILL FIX IT" bullshit...And did the Bush Administration during its' 8 year tenure in the White House make any effort to come up with a viable alternative to the Clinton's stab at trying to correct our HEALTHCARE clusterfuck? Nope! - So Obamacare is nothing more than a natural reaction/solution to the INACTIONS of the GOP (and to a certain extent, the Dems.)

  • You know...the Europe whose economy is imploding before our very eyes because of decades of centralized health care and other similar programs. Yeah...THAT Europe.<p>

  • Yeah, right. THAT'S the plan Herc. That's the motivation for anyone opposed to the monstrosity of Obamacare. Damn! You found us out.<p> Pfft. You're just silly.

Since you obviously had health care discussions with all five of them, did they say why they preferred it? It certainly couldn't be our pricing or exorbitant insurance premiums, could it? As citizens of the U.K. or Canada, they would have received care free of charge, no? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_the_health_care_systems_in_Canada_and_the_United_States Did the U.K. or Canadian doctors give all five of them misdiagnoses or cut off the wrong limb or something? Let's look at Greece

    by MrLongbaugh

(NaturalNews) The economic situation in Greece is only continuing to worsen, as reports indicate that hospitals and care centers throughout the nation are running completely out of medicines, and many healthcare workers are now voluntarily providing care services without pay. Strapped with spiraling debt, the Greek healthcare, which is government-run, has had to receive gobs of international financial aid just to keep operating with some semblance of normalcy. There has also been plenty of IOUs issued, and desperate patients quietly forking over cash "gifts" to doctors to receive treatments. All in all, the healthcare situation is in utter chaos, save for those that have sacrificed their own time, often free of charge, just to help those in need. As we reported here at NaturalNews back in 2010, Big Pharma had already been withholding drugs from Greece because of the country's inability to pay for them. Greek authorities had tried to negotiate with drug companies to lower the exorbitant costs associated with drugs, and some complied. But many others simply stopped shipping in medicines, leaving thousands of ill patients without any options. (http://www.naturalnews.com/028922_Greece_Big_Pharma.html) Today, the situation has gotten even worse, particularly because the Greek healthcare system heavily relies on brand-name drugs rather than far-less-expensive alternatives. Since the entire system is clogged because of unpaid bills, many pharmacies, for instance, have had to simply close their doors. Those that still remain and continue to supply drugs on credit -- these are few and far between -- are being overwhelmed by long lines of desperate patients seeking life-saving medications. "We're not talking about painkillers here," said one Greek woman, a cancer survivor, to Reuters. "We've learned to live with physical pain. We need drugs to keep us alive." MSNBC reports that many hospital workers have been working for a many as five months without pay, including at the Henry Dunant Hospital in Athens, which is owned by the Hellenic Red Cross Foundation. These workers hope to one day receive the backlog of pay they are owed, but because the crisis only appears to be worsening rather than improving, this may not ever happen. As of this past weekend, the New Democracy Party's Antonis Samaras claimed victory as Greece's new prime minister, ending a seven-week period in which the nation was essentially being ruled by nobody. Much to the chagrin of many Greeks, this new regime plans to stick with the eurozone and pursue more financial bailouts (http://www.nytimes.com). Sources for this article include: http://www.reuters.com http://www.cnbc.com/id/47792705 Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/036257_Greece_economic_collapse_hospitals.html#ixzz1zLlH3UzL

  • What's goin' on over there is a culmination of 20+ years of KICKIN' THE CAN DOWN THE ALLEY by payin' most of their citizens to stay home and not work due to not remaining competitive (GLOBAL MARKET-WISE) by not producing, exporting goods and padding their books with false profit projections.

    by Big Dumb Ape

    >> Herc: "I've never spoken to ONE Brit or Canadian who said they preferred our health care system to their own, and you say you've met FIVE?" Yes, Herc -- FIVEEEEE. There, I'll put it in caps just like you to ram the point home yet again. 3 Brits (2 men, 1 woman) and a married couple from Canada. Though since they dislike the system and have a young daughter as well, technically that means they speak for her. Which would make it SIXXXXX. >> Herc: "Since you obviously had health care discussions with all five of them, did they say why they preferred it?" Yeah, and I quickly covered some of their bitches in paragraphs 3 and 4. Sorry, I wasn't aware that you wanted a doctoral dissertation on the matter. Bottom line: back in their countries, they've had to deal with this shit and they don't like it. And given some of the stories they've traded at dinner parties and whatnot... where people are just relaxing and trading thoughts... they're obviously entitled to their own personal opinions based on their own firsthand experiences. Oh wait -- I'm sorry. Heaven forbid that someone doesn't subscribe to your political beliefs. And based on their own personal experiences, Heaven forbid that anyone should dare to speak up. Fuck! What the hell were they even thinking? They've gone off script! They're not towing the official line about socialized medicine, which is going to lead us to the Promised Land of rainbows and puppy dogs! So they'd better shut up. After all, no one is allowed a differing opinion these days! >> Herc - Take One: "It certainly couldn't be our pricing or exorbitant insurance premiums, could it? As citizens of the U.K. or Canada, they would have received care free of charge, no?" >> Herc - Take Two: "Did they seem relieved to have survived long enough to get away from all that terrible (albeit much less expensive) health care?" Ah, I got it now. This isn't about their experiences. This isn't about extended waiting periods... shitty doctors... or even rationing certain services. The same way it's not about a whole slew of other debatable topics. Instead this is only about the cost and Progressives wanting to create yet another free entitlement in life. For what it's worth, I'm not against medical reform. It's not like I haven't been there, done that myself, when it comes to dealing with insurance companies or bad doctors or bills that make you raise a Mr. Spock eyebrow. I agree that some reforms are needed. However, PaBurrows_rises and DoctorWho? are right. As it's written now, Obamacare isn't the solution. Instead it's an out of control train racing down the tracks on a collision course with a fucking gas tanker that's broken down at the crossing just ahead. And worst of all it's a train that now we're all stuck on.

    Canadian here with an opinion....

    by Robert

I live in BC, we pay the highest taxes of anyone..just got a new gas tax today in fact...so here's the facts by way of the facts of my life: I have 2 kids with a 3rd on the way....we don't pay a single dollar to give birth in a hospital..and there's no wait (of course)...my kids have anything and I mean anything wrong with them, i go see a doctor, they look at them and even if I'm being a paranoid idiot...no fees...i can get any medication i want and maybe have to pay the tax on the pills, not the actual cost, if I don't want to wait for some non emergency medical thing I can go to a private service or if I was really desperate, go to the states..so if you want to wait (and honestly, you hardly ever do) then you can do the US way and pay. I can't believe that you want to pay 5 to 12k to have a kid in the US! I can't believe you want to risk paying for cancer care cuz it hits republicans and liberals alike. I can't believe though that you also only get 3 months of maternity leave..i mean WOW! 3 months? You get 12 months of government maternity leave pay (about $1,700 cleared a month) here...sorry guys, I love shopping in the states, i love your movies, tv's, hate your freedom! Curse you and your freedom! and I do love your diversity of fast food chains (we dont have jack in the box or Sonic) Seriously though...from a bonafide canadian who has lived 36 years with health care...its awesome! you shoud try it.

What a shock. Come for TV news, find Herc being a Lib douche bag instead

    by Starship Captain

Herc, get your panties out of a bunch and stop being such a whiny asshole. Not everyone wants to suck Obama's dick the way you do. Though it's nice to see you're giving Joss Whedon's a break. I'm sure he appreciates the temporary reprieve. People say they're opposed to Obamacare and Herc shits a brick. Herc declares that socialized healthcare is the answer to all of mankind's woes and when people disagree, Herc has an even bigger meltdown. Herc boasts that everyone in the rest of the world totally loves socialized medicine and when someone like Big Ape challenges that by citing people he knows, Herc spends not one, but two posts calling Big Ape a liar. So what this all boils down to is Herc being a colossal douche bag because he refuses to accept that anyone could possibly have a different opinion on the subject. Give it a fucking rest, Herc. Show some class or shut the hell up. No one gives a shit that you love Obama so much. Or if this means so goddamn much to you, ask Harry to let you start a political column where you can rant away with all of your looney beliefs. But if it makes you feel any better, come November I'll be happy to send you a box of tissues when Obama gets his sorry ass kicked out of office and Romney repeals all this bullshit and you'll be crying a river. In the meantime go back to doing what you do best which is posting Amazon links for blu-ray sales. I had cancer back in 2000 and every time I feel pain, I go to the Doctor and end paying $35 per visit. Then you have to pay deductables or your insurance charges more because of your condition. My rates just doubled over the past year. All for the glory of profit. Yes, we have great procedures, but it is an absolute crime that we have to pay out the nose the way we do. Ask yourself another thing, do you really think coverage, as it is today is fair? Do you really think if you were shot in the head you would get the same treatment as politician or a celebrity? I doubt it.

one DOES choose to vote for someone. a government mandate IS making someone do something that is against their will. choosing to vote for Obama + Obama's government mandate= choosing the government to make them do something against their will. its NOT that hard to comprehend, but i digress. u ARE supporting a racist and sexist if u think calling Maher out for it is *just straight up hilariously stupid.* are u implying u DONT support Mahers racism and sexism? are u implying that u condemn his racism and sexism? is that it, moron?

  • when in doubt, Wiki it!!! Wiki's NEVER been proven incorrect before *rolls eyes*...

Herc, don't you know that facts don't mean anything to these people

    by SergeantStedenko

Odds are that the 5 people Ape was hanging out share his political views and hence their opinion of socialized medicine. But, for someone who does not believe in facts, 5 out of millions of people is enough for him to believe that all foreigners dislike their healthcare. See how that works. These people exist in a small world where everyone thinks like they do and damn any pesky facts that are going to get in the way of their ignorant belief system.

  • Oh well, here it goes: O'Romneycare is the Law of the Land now thanks to the Supreme Court who declared it Constitutional. SUCK IT HATERZ!!!

If someone makes a choice to vote for something, then that something is not against their will. Fucking stunning that you actually need that explained to you.

Government mandate. Obama implemented it. Someone votes for Obama. They have NOW chosen to have something done against their will. Like I said,I digress. Glad to see ur condemning Mather's racism and sexism :)

  • But, what the hell, I'll keep playing along. I'll type this very slowly so you can keep up. Let's use me as an example. I voted for Obama in 2008. I knew full well that he was going to try to enact health insurance legislation that would include a mandate to buy insurance. In other words, the mandate is NOT against my will. See how that works? "Choosing" something = "willfully accepting" that thing. When you say that we're choosing to have something done to us against our will, it makes it seem like you don't know what those words mean.

    two words: Government Mandate.
