El Cosmico here again, George Lucas made some comments on KROQ this morning, here's a quick summary...
Well, it was certainly nice of him to wait until the VHS tape had been on the market for a few weeks before coming clean and revealing that they've already been working on this stuff...oh wait, no it wasn't. His team at Lucasfilm is doing up the TPM DVD as we speak, since the Episode II script has been completed (shudder). Lucas also confirmed that there are going to be a number of "unfinished" scenes, including scenes for Episodes 4,5 and 6 (do we really need to corrupt these movies even more?). This isn't special edition stuff, this is yet more unfinished original footage. Yeesh. When I'm like eighty years old, will they still be changing these movies? Probably so. By then, it'll be the Star Wars Supreme Super Happy Fun Collector's Edition Premium Turbo Deluxe Family Pack: Limited Edition. Anyway, Looks like it'll be anamorphic widescreen, which is a big relief. Release date? HA! Did you really think he'd say THAT?
