Here's The Domestic Trailer For LOOPER!
Nordling here.
You can't just tell me to avoid a trailer like LOOPER - I love Rian Johnson to death, but my reaction to DON'T LOOK AT THIS is almost always LOOK. Safe to say, I'd be pretty melted if I had to hang out with Indiana Jones.
I do like that this trailer is different than the international one - this one seems to accent the relationship between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis a bit more - and, yeah, regardless, I'll be seeing this one in September. Sure, Gordon-Levitt and Willis don't really look alike, considering we've seen Bruce's work for almost 25 years now, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief on that aspect. But these trailers we've seen so far just work. Embed courtesy of Yahoo:

Much better than the international trailer from the other day.
by buggerbugger
I'll just pretend that one never existed or got sent 30 years into the past and thrown into an incinerator.

that Levitt and Willis are the same person is going to be harder than buying that no-one realises that Henry Cavill's curly haired Superman and Clark are the same person in a nolaneqsue real universe.
-
....good!. Im still not sure how the kid from 3rd Rock has managed to become one of the leading actors in hollywood though :/

emily blunt telekinesis causes a lot of damage to "Joe's" life and that the longer hair JGL is the bad guy

SEPTEMBER? Traditionally Hollywood's dumping grounds for films they know will fail. DAMN IT!
by bs9999
Was hoping this would be good.

hmmm I don't buy DAVE COULIER as a crime boss... but other than that, looks amazing :)

Yet Gordon-Levitt's facial expressions, mannerisms, and gait are all amazing. It's like he's channeling Willis.
-
Hollywood's been bucking that "tradition" for quite a while now. September hasn't been a dumping ground in a while.
-
I don't know if you were joking or not but the crime boss is Jeff Daniels, not Dave Coulier. Although thinking of Dave Coulier as a crime boss is fucking hilarious.

isn't JGL wearing prosthetics to make him lokk like Willis?
by thinboyslim.
i thought it looked quite good the only problem is the eyes are way off and it doesn't help he does a sergio leone style eye close up.

Yes, I know they are trying to change his facial features to look more like Bruce Willis, but it just looks odd. He doesn't look like a young Willis, nor does he look like JGL anymore either. Also, I'm surely in the minority, but I just don't dig this director's stuff. Brick, while a clever concept, just didn't work for me. Nice cinematography though. The Brothers Bloom was also one that I just couldn't get into. Now, I'm not saying Rian Johnson is a crappy filmmaker or anything. The guy can do some nice visuals and he seems to be trying to do original work instead of jumping on the remake train. For that I give him credit. It is just that whatever it is in his style and choices in his films, just don't work for me. And since every time there is a Paul Verhoeven related article here, several people come out of the woodwork in the talkbacks to proclaim that Verhoeven sucks, then I don't see why there wouldn't be someone who doesn't dig the films of Rian Johnson. I get it, Verhoeven is not everyone's cup o' tea. That is kind of how I am feeling with Looper, as well as how Brick and The Brothers Bloom made me react. They just ain't for me.

I haven't seen "Brick" (though I do want to), but I had a similar experience with "Brothers Bloom". A bunch of people said it was great, and my one friend did the whole "You haven't seen <insert movie>??? We gotta watch it right now!!" I sat there and watched it, and it was nice to look at and everything, but I had no clue what he (and everyone else) was freaking out about. It was okay. I don't even remember what it was about, which is not a good thing.

Change his face, fine, but do it consistently. JGL looks different in every freaking shot! Not impressed!

brick was the shit to me. bb, was just ok. too whismicalish for my tastes. the weird thing is, most of rian's fans like bb more than brick. i dont get why
-
Damn, that looked fucking cool! The other trailer had me a bit worried, but this one... much, much better. The visuals carried a trippy, oppressive feeling, I loved the characters' opening conversation, and the assassin-level violence flashed balls-out R-rated. Man, I now can't WAIT to see this. Fuck, yeah!
-
Rian Johnson wrote a fantastic script... and with quality actors (and him directing his own work), it's sure to turn out fine. Didn't hear of any issues during production either, so... it'll be good.
-
It was like Avatar and Prometheus got married and had a baby and it was Brick. That's how stupid it was.
