Here's The Trailer For HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA!

After enduring Adam Sandler's THAT'S MY BOY last week, forgive me if I'm a little cautious about seeing another of his movies, even if it is full of cool monsters. Plus, all the Sandler crew seems to be in on HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA - Sandler, Kevin James, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, David Spade - and only Selena Gomez is a newcomer to that cast group.
Still, there are moments in this trailer that don't make me dismiss it entirely - I laughed at Frankenstein's Monster doing a belly flop in the pool and all his pieces floating away - but I'll definitely approach this with some misgivings. There's a lot of humor in this that comes straight out of the SHREK school, which dates it instantaneously. But the many creatures might just save this for me. We'll all know this fall. Seriously, put THAT on the poster you idiots! I'll ignore Adam Sandler's name on the poster, but go if I know Genndy Tartakovsky's involved! I wish they would have done the same with Ghost Protocal (From the Director of The Incredibles and The Iron Giant), and John Carter (From the Director of Finding Nemo and Wall-E).

Samurai Jack, The Clone War, Hell Symbiotic Titan was better then 99% of anything animated on TV or anywhere else once it got going.

Genndy's Clone Wars cartoons came out between Eps II and III, not after. Dave Filoni (main director of the first season of "Avatar: The Last Airbender") and Lucas have been in charge of the CGI TCW series, which far outsteps Genndy's miniseries. <p> <p>Genndy's miniseries was good, btw, but frankly I'd rather he hadn't taken his eye of the ball and concentrated on "Samurai Jack", which ought to be given a proper finish already (the passing of Mako, voice of Aku, is unfortunate, but hey-- even "The Last Airbender" found a bang-up replacement for Iroh). And his follow-up "Sym-Bionic Titan" was interesting, if cancelled for nonsensical reasons (how can you make a show about giant robots and then not keep the show running for being "toyetic" enough?). But this movie just marks a somewhat promising animator shilling out for a gig.

Genndy Now is contracted to Sony, this is 1st outing. As fars the Genndy's clone wars I can't speak for the current animated series as I haven't watched a single episode however Genndy's Clone Wars is far superior then the entire full motion prequel trilogy.

Agree to disagree on the Prequels-- Genndy's cartoons were fun, but really just Samurai Jack in SW drag (again, I'd much rather have seen SJ finished than an interquel cartoon). And I'd like to think that Genndy could do some interesting stuff at Sony, but if the first project he chooses is something this stupid, I can't say I have much if any faith. Now's the time to try something original, not an Adam Sandler monster mash.

It kind of looked fun, but it could easily overdo the references and get tiresome, I'd bet. Let's hope the script can avoid that trap.

I love the animation and the ideas and it seems like a cool movie...if only because of Samurai Jack/Clone Wars Shorts cred. This will be better than you people think...don't let Sandler-Berg fool you.
