After enduring Adam Sandler's THAT'S MY BOY last week, forgive me if I'm a little cautious about seeing another of his movies, even if it is full of cool monsters. Plus, all the Sandler crew seems to be in on HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA - Sandler, Kevin James, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, David Spade - and only Selena Gomez is a newcomer to that cast group.
Still, there are moments in this trailer that don't make me dismiss it entirely - I laughed at Frankenstein's Monster doing a belly flop in the pool and all his pieces floating away - but I'll definitely approach this with some misgivings. There's a lot of humor in this that comes straight out of the SHREK school, which dates it instantaneously. But the many creatures might just save this for me. We'll all know this fall.
