The Kidd here...
I used to be a FAMILY GUY fan way back in the day before the show got first cancelled. However, after it was brought back, it just didn't seem to have the same edge to me... plus, there was something rather annoying about those people who always asked, "Oh, man... did you see that episode of FAMILY GUY?"
However, I do think Seth MacFarlane does have some comedy gold to bring us when he's not relying on the randomness of his Fox show, and TED just might be it. Add in a game Mark Wahlberg and a talking teddy bear, and you've got me intrigued.
I'll be checking it out next Tuesday night, June 26, at 7:30 p.m., at the AMC Sunset Place 24 in South Miami, and I'm ready to round up some thunder buddies to come along with me.
If you want to be included, what you need to do is send over your childhood toy/doll of choice. No, I don't want you to track it down and stick it in the mail... but everyone had that one thing that they were inseparable from. You slept with it at night. You wanted to take it anywhere. It was your best friend before you could have human best friends. Tell me what it's name was, what it was, what it meant to you, anything you think is necessary for me to know, and, from there, I'll pick some Ain't It Cool friends to see the movie next week.
In the body of the email, send me your name and all the info about your childhood pal to Contests@AintItCool.com with the following subject line exactly (in all CAPS):
THUNDER BUDDIES
Entries will be judged on their merit as they come in, and once I have enough quality submissions to fill out our allotment, winners will be posted up on the site.
If you're not sure if you're going to be able to make it though, it's quite simple - don't enter. If you don't think you can get out of work early enough, or if you have class, homework, chores, scheduled surgery, an unreliable car, prior engagements or previous commitments that may prevent you from attending this screening, don't try to win only to let these seats go to waste. Oh, and, if you enter to win and then no-show, don't expect to win anything anytime soon in the future, because the Black List is where you'll be heading indefinitely.
