Hell, people were dropping dead right in the damn street! The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day had to get out.

Published at: June 17, 2012, 4:59 p.m. CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!

I’ve never seen Parasite in 3-D, so maybe that’s why I was so crushingly disappointed by it as a teenager, in my roaming the horror section of the local video store days, picking up any film with a halfway decent cover and giving it a whirl. A cheesy horror movie directed by Charles Band and starring Demi Moore? I was so in!

The cheesy part was there, alright, but on the whole I was just bored with the movie, despite hot young Demi Moore and The Runaways’ Cherie Currie making an appearance.

There are also a couple of good early Stan Winston effects shots in the movie, so it wasn’t all that awful an experience. Today’s picture features Mr. Winston putting some goop on young Tom Villard. Enjoy and click to enlargen!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.

Tomorrow’s pic gets its revenge!

I think I have an old issue of Fangoria that has a write-up on it. Yeah, that would be a 30 year old issue.

I saw it in the theaters....

    by HSStudios

...TWICE! It seems like it was one summer, was probably a bunch of years, where there were a bunch of crappy movies in 3D - Spacehunter, Legend of the Three Crowns, Comin' at Ya, Friday the 13th in 3D, Parasite...I used to make my parents drag me to them multiple times. The 3D was terrible...the movies were terrible...I didn't care. It seemed like magic.

    Cherie Currie and Demi Moore

    by Flexfill

in maybe the worst movie I've ever seen, but they brought a little heat to it. Winston is a god though.

I forgot all about Spacehunter 3-D (Adventures in the Forbidden Zone). I LOVED that one. What an awful movie, but man I loved it as a kid.

Is Legend of the Three Crowns the same as Treasure of the Four Crowns? I remember seeing that in the theater back in the same period. No idea of plot, but I do recall it as one of the first movies I didn't like as a kid. I didn't think that was possible until the one two punch of Superman III and the aforementioned Indy rip off.

    The poster gave me nightmares!

    by grandwiz

Never saw it. But for some reason that black Jaws-looking thing on the poster gave me re-occurring nightmares. I'd visualize it coming for me, then a steel door would come down blocking it. Then it would easily tear through the door and keep coming for me. Then another steel door would come down and it would tear through that one. And again. And again. Not sure what this generic P.O.S. poster did to sear itself in my childhood brain, but it worked.

I got kicked out of the theater watching this

    by Monkeybrains

My friends and I were laughing throughout the entire movie and some old wanker started complaining that we should be quiet because this was a very serious movie. Finally he had enough and went and complained to the manager and we got tossed. Went to the bathroom and then snuck back in. The only scene that I remember working in 3D was when someone got a pipe stuck in them and I believe blood was dripping out. The only reason I even remember the movie was for being tossed. I don’t hold anything against the old man. Even though all we were doing was laughing. We weren’t taking out loud, just busting up at the stupidity of the movie. I give him credit for having the guts to tell the manager, and then for them to actually follow through. I wish more theater managers would throw out a-holes out for talking and texting.

Quint, do you even remember what took place on set at this point? I think you're the best writer on this site and I have nothing but love and respect for you, but seriously – you are the Guillermo del Toro of internet writers (too much on your plate, things get sacrificed as a result).

As a kid I rember seeing this commercial, not trailer mind you and

    by Grammaton Cleric Binks

I knew I would never get to see it. I was too young. It was made just as VCRs were coming out. The 3-D is not like it is today. It's probably crap 3-D like our beloved hockey mask origin story Friday the 13th pt. 3. Still, I wish I had. Around the same time, give or take a few years I think there was a similary movie on tv. It was on an oil rig or ship or something. The monster at the end looked something like the Alien monster. As a kid it was cool. Today it would probably suck.

    Saw it in the theater

    by HootDad

Only because I knew a girl who had a small part in it. I don't remember her name - she was one of a gang if I recall - small girl with curly blonde hair I think. Tried to look it up in imdb to see if i could recall her name but I couldn't - but did see that Freddie Moore (Demi's ex) was in it which I forgot about. Really awful movie as I remember.
