Anna Kendrick Brings GLEE And BRING IT ON Together For The Trailer To PITCH PERFECT!!
The Kidd here...
I'm an unapologetic fan of GLEE, as I've been watching it from the start... but I don't know that I need it to come my way in movie form as Anna Kendrick's new musical comedy PITCH PERFECT is suggesting.
This time Anna Kendrick is a outcast (How does that happen?) who takes a college a capella group to the next level by injecting some modern-day music into their catalog to compete with some of the more seasoned competition. I didn't know "No Diggity" was still on people's radar, although I'm digging the Flo Rida.
I'm a big Kendrick fan, and maybe there are a few laughs to be had here, particularly by bringing in Rebel Wilson, but there's an air of "Been there, done that" to this entire premise.
Check out the first trailer for the flick, which coincidentally is being produced by Elizabeth Banks.

"Those are still things, right?" Are you sure this is a theatrical release? Cause this looks like Grade-A Straight to Video horsecrap. An Asylum movie, perhaps. Or one of those Cheapo specials that have slapped "National Lampoons" on the box, as if that meant anything anymore. Fucking lazy, is what it is.

I still like Zooey even though she has pretty much embraced her "image" (it would be nice for her to surprise us with a very different role in an unexpected film - think Tom Cruise in Magnolia), Anna Kendrick right now is holding the title that Zooey did a few years ago. I would probably watch this mediocre, out-of-touch studio-driven shit on cable or Netflix Instant just for Anna.

I'm starting to feel like "cool" is being spread a bit too thin these days. I mean first of all, what this movie is about doesn't exactly seem to fit the majority of what you'd think AICN's demographic is, plus you as the reporter even yourself say you were more or less overwhelmed with the content in the trailer. So why is there an AICN article on it at all?
