John Ary here with a look at one home video release Harry overlooked in this week's column. What happens when you recruit 8 monsters to wrestle to the death on live TV? Here's my review of Monster Brawl.

In the movie a line was added about the use of the name Frankenstein vs Frankenstein's monster. They acknowledged its improper use in Monster Brawl, but said only "a dick" would point it out. Their words, not mine.

I bought the movie because the trailer on youtube made it look hysterical. It's not as funny as the trailer makes it look, but it's a weird ass movie. But check out the trailer an imagine the movie it could've been.

That there is still a video store in your neighborhood. Something thats a rarity these days, sadly. God it would be like Disney world for me to go into a video store again! Its been too long... Damn you Netflix and Redbox.. Actually, I love redbox and netflix.. But yea you get my point. So sad..

I watched Monster Brawl. That is, I tried to. I really wanted to enjoy it, really. but Lord have mercy it was just bad. I can't believe I did this, but I gave up after about 30 minutes because it was just so boring. Can't believe a movie with so many cool monsters could be boring, but it was. Not recommended, even to hard core monster movie fans.

And I don't mean that in a derogatory way. He is even-spoken (though I suspect he probably had to modulate his voice since he was filming in the video shop) and doesn't resort to being mean-spirited or any snarkiness when he doesn't like something. Hello, neighbor.
