Bill Murray On GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - "We'll Try Again"

The Kidd here...

What do you know...? Bill Murray is talking about GHOSTBUSTERS 3 again.

Appearing on LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, Murray was being asked by Dave about some of his experiences on the various films he's made throughout his career, and, as Dave worked his way up from the beginning, talking about GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS 2 inevitably led to the question about GHOSTBUSTERS 3.

What did Bill have to say on the matter this time?

That seems to be the most candid Murray has really ever been when asked about GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Typically, it's a smart-ass answer or some type of run-around, but, judging by Murray's words here, I get the feeling that it's disappointing to him that another GHOSTBUSTERS 3 right now is far from living up to the standards set by the first film. Murray has long said that GHOSTBUSTERS 2 wasn't very good, and, if he's going to strap on a proton pack in some form, he wants GHOSTBUSTERS 3 to be made for the right reasons, which is just not to make a ton of money, but to be a story worth telling with these characters again.

I don't think he's as opposed to doing it as he's come across in the past, but he's going to keep holding out until they can do it well. 'We'll try again" isn't "no."
