    Bill Maher

    by NudeandAroused

isn't too bad, but he really is full of himself sometimes.

  • June 8, 2012, 1:42 p.m. CST

A celebrity with a high opinion of himself?

    by JackDeth

    Surely you jest!

  • The man needs his own show!

  • It's like it gradually just kept going down, week after week, to now at this point literally every guest Maher has on is included in the description, and it's just a whole slew of bad basic cable reality shows lol

  • Overall I've long really dug the guy, we agree so much on social issues and his general look on the world, but on the bad side, he does too often get mad at the audience for not laughing like crazy at every single monologue joke (they can't ALL be winners, Bill) and now in the wake of the 1 million dollars he donated to Obama's PAC, he's trying to hide it in the punchline of jokes of course, but he's mentioning it a bit too much. Not letting anyone forget that he did the gracious, magnanimous act of donating a shit load of money.

    by Zeb

Seriously, funniest thing I've seen in a while. Reggie Watts should be everywhere. Go watch the pilot on I guess....congraduations are in order?

Lost respect for Maher when he got schooled by Bill Frist.

    by mjgtexas

Bill Frist...the guy who thought a five second videotape of Terri Schavo "blinking" warranted a quick midnight intervention.

    Comedy Bang Shoots Blanks

    by DangerMan

Comedy bang bang is just a filmed podcast. Real low rent TV like Tosh 2.0. Can't imagine watching that week after week.

  • I have a photo of Waters riding one of the rollercoasters at Dorney Park, in Allentown, PA where they filmed the Tilted Acres riot dance show and riot sequences --

Hey friend. I hope you are doing well. That is odd that you should mention that. My ex-girlfriend had a picture of her and John Waters together. She was an extra in *Serial Mom*. She was, and still is a bombshell. You should see some of the pictures of her when she was younger and doing the modeling thing. Take care.

    by I am the Terminator

Not all that hard to believe that he would describe himself. NEW AND IMPROVED!!

  • Can't wait for season 5!!!!!! I want future episodes, but since its the last half season I really want them to spend as much time as possible with the characters that we know and love, and speaking on that topic I really hope that everyone else besides Olivia reverts back to their old selves and memories. I kind of also hope that they keep making continued stories via comicbooks and other means. 'Fringe' finale: Exec producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman discuss those final moments, tease season 5 by Jeff Jensen A few weeks ago, Fringe zipped forward to the year 2036 and showed us a world ruled by The Observers, time traveling super-powered bald men from the 27th century with a passion for fedoras, hot sauce and flasks of ice water. Can Walter (John Noble), Olivia (Anna Torv), and Peter (Josh Jackson) do anything here in the present to avert this fate? If you’ve seen the season four finale, then you now know – SPOILER ALERT! – that you’ll have to wait until the cult fave’s fifth and final season for the answer. “That’s certainly the suggestion at the end,” says exec producer J.H. Wyman, referring to two revelations in the closing moments that would seem to pave the way for Observageddon. “The idea that September says ‘They’re coming’ and that Olivia says she’s pregnant really does set us up for what we saw in ‘Letters of Transit.’ At the same time, I will also say that everything you’ve seen over the past four seasons is hugely important to season five.” Fringe is known for bleak cliffhangers that set up or tease the next year’s capture-the-imagination sci-fi idea. But the exec producers say that with “Brave New World,” they were going for something more emotional, less mythological. Hence, this year, our heroes got something like a clean victory/happy ending. Walter defeated William Bell’s wannabe god scheme to create a “brave new world” filled with strange creatures (and very few humans), while Olivia cheated death (from a bullet in the head, no less!) with her recently-conceived baby intact. Also: Astrid lives! Wyman calls the episode “the calm before the storm… a gentle closing of the door” to this part of the saga. Wyman and co-showrunner Jeff Pinkner say that they conceived the season four endgame not knowing if Fringe would get picked up for a fifth year. “We wrote [the season finale] as if it would potentially be the last [episode] ever,” says Pinkner. “We would have thought of something – written a graphic novel or something on the Internet – to wrap up everything [if the show was canceled]. Call it blind ignorance or naiveté or being stupid, we have said, every season, ‘Okay, this is it,’ and left it in the hands of the audience and the press to drum up enough support for us to come back and do it again.” Pinkner and Wyman also say they wanted to use season four’s last act to clear some decks – shutting down the bridge linking the parallel worlds; killing off recurring villain David Robert Jones (Jared Harris, bound to Mad Men and more movies ) – so the swan song season would be free to focus on “other matters.” Will season five take place in the present, or will the series spend more time in Observer-controlled 2036? The producers declined to answer, though Wyman noted that they would adhere to their policy of only jumping around in time if and when the story demands it. “Brave New World (Part Two)” included one cryptic moment that fans should bookmark and mull. Early in the episode, an agent working for the villainous William Bell trapped September using gold symbols called “stasis runes” — technology, we were told, from the future. How did Bell come by those golden glyphs? Mystery! “Bell is always ahead of the game, always one step ahead, he knows more about The Observers, clearly, than anyone,” says Wyman. “Where does his knowledge end?” Asked to comment on this reporter’s theory that Bell has long known about Observageddon, and that everything he does, no matter how awful it may seem, is in service of thwarting The Observers and the oppressive, hopeless future for humanity that they will bring, the producers wished me a happy hiatus, then vanished into a wormhole. Or maybe they just said “no comment.”

Maher said the us was fifth FROM LAST in inequality, try to keep up big guy. Jay, why do you suppose people who get their news exclusively from fox knew less on a test of current affairs than viewers from all other news shows, by a wide margin. This was a simple test of facts, not opinions.

  • June 9, 2012, 2:16 p.m. CST

    by Amfpsych

as for mormanism being a cult...unless you believe John smith had a secret pipeline to God, perhaps cult isn't an inappropriate word for a group misled by a charlatan.

  • June 9, 2012, 3:28 p.m. CST

psych- he said *fifth in the world, fifth WORST...*

by jay2517 my point still stands. its is also still a LIE. we are 43rd. maybe its YOU that needs to *keep up* little fella? i get Mahers lies directly from him not any news channel. BTW- i have already debunked that faulty and discredited poll. it was NO *wide margin* and, if u must use faulty and debunked data, where did MSNBC viewers finish? oh yea, right behind Fox. WHY must u idiot AICN progressives CLING to this discredited poll LOL?? BTW2- keep up that progressive bigotry...

  • June 9, 2012, 3:35 p.m. CST

    by Marc Cerasini

Wondering where you got that "fact" about Fox News viewers being ignorant of "the facts." My buddy is a pollster and he finds the opposite is true, and that MSNBC viewers are the least informed,. But I am always willing to learn, so please tell me where you heard this information and provide the link, please.

    I'm a Mormon

    by Paul

I can see how hard it is to believe in Joseph Smiths story, its quite an amazing story, not to mention all of the misunderstandings and lies that have been spread about him and the church that he founded. Personally I believe that he did speak to God just like Moses and many of the other Prophets in the scriptures, but as I said if someone doesn't believe in God himself I can see why someone doesn't believe in his story, or even if someone does believe in God, but believes in another religion I can also understand that. All religions have great things about them. But reguardless of that Mormonism is not a wierd cult, it may do things differently, but none of it forces anyone to do anything. If Mormonism was a cult and just a bunch of Smith followers then it would have died out quickly after Smith died. In fact for a number of years it went on without a new Prophet and was lead by the churches Apostles before Brigham Young was called as the second Prophet. Cults come and go, but I've never heard of a cult that has numbered in the millions and is still growing. and not only that, but does so much humanitarian aid throught the world. All of you are free to believe what you want, thats whats so great about this country that was founded by God fearing men is that we can all have different opinions about things. I just wanted to come out and express my feelings about Joseph Smith and Mormonism since its been brought up a number of times recently. I would hope that further discussion can contain respect towards others beliefs. I'm willing to carry on a respectful discussion about it, but won't be responding to line by line attacks.

  • June 10, 2012, 7:52 a.m. CST

    by Amfpsych

How exactly did you debunk the poll? And when I said it was a wide margin I meant it was statistically significant. I'm not a big msnbc watcher so I don't care if they were second worst. I did laugh at the fact that people who only watch the daily show to get news still graded significantly better than fox viewers. And if by calling me bigoted you are referring to me being pro gay marriage, pro women's rights, and pro free health care for all citizens, then yes I'm a bigot

  • June 10, 2012, 7:59 a.m. CST

    by Amfpsych

You're right and I apologize. Mormanism isn't any more of a cult than any other religion. I agree it comes down to weather you believe in a supreme being.

  • June 10, 2012, 10:25 a.m. CST

amfpsych that poll you told me to find is totally discredited

    by Marc Cerasini

You MUST be talking about another, or you are lying.

  • But he can sure spin his wheel when watching the Daily Show!! I keed, I keed!! have a great day sir...

  • ...this week's Young Justice? I actuallky believed she died, but was not annoyed at the intelligent way they handled the reality of that *death*... and the revelations with Aqualad... As always superior storytelling. I can't say I believe in a specific religious sect god, but I do believe in a higher order. There has to be something in the vast universe that compels man to gravitate towards such a belief, and i do not think that believe in god stems from fear of the unknown, even though the unwavering faith component of it may be part of that. To each their own I say, as long as you do not try to force your personal beliefs onto the unwilling- and churches do much good in the world for the needy, and no one can diminish that positive aspect. And as long as your religious beliefs do not consume you, but guide you for a more fullfilling life on Earth. I was raised Catholic, but replaced that dogma with my own belief in a higher order- Weird - it came right around the time I saw 2001, A Space Odyssey for the first time back in 1968. We are not alone in the universe . My eyes look to the stars and my soul cries out for answers, much like religious followers seek out truths and wisdom to guide their hearts. My one main desire now is for a greater intelligence to let its presence be known to us mere mortals before I discorporate and my stardust atoms blow back to the far corners of the universe.... And I hope it is less the Flying Spaghetti Monster...and more the Black Monolith... Be well, my friend....

    by Marc Cerasini

The Farleigh Dickenson poll cited is 600 people in ONE STATE. First off, you NEVER, EVER rely on one state to give you an accurate reading on a national issue--you're going to get a very different answer in Massachusetts than you will get in North Dakota. Also, a poll of 600 people is so statistically insignificant in the face of 2-3 million cable news viewers a night that it is meaningless. My friend—and yes, I have a friend who works for a private polling firm so fuck you—also points to the exit polls in Wisconsin which put Scott Walker at a tie in the recall election and were totally wrong. (Walker won by 7 points, that’s SEVEN, almost a landslide in modern election numbers, which calls the poll's methodology into question. That same poll put Obama ahead by 9 points, that’s NINE, but with it’s accuracy issues my friend guesses Obama has more like a 2 point lead. Comfortable, but not 9) What were the methodology issues? Most of the Wisconsin exit polls cited were taken late in the election process, between 6 PM and the polls closing. You will get more of those public sector workers voting at that time and they were anti-Walker. There is also a rumor that the polls were all done in or around Green Bay, a very liberal college town, but let's put the rumors aside. Polls also indicate that the most intelligent news consumers are found at the Drudge Report, a fellow who sees eye to eye with the folks at Fox. I don't have a dog in this race. Most of my news comes from NYC dailies, and New York One cable news--and the Drudge report. When I watch news, I watch CNN without illusions that it is any more nonpartisan than MSNBC or Fox. So yes, I’m not a pollster and I don’t play one on TV. But I am an adult with a career and friends with careers and some of them know things beyond Django Unchained’s release date.

  • All keeding aside - even those who seem to lack a sense of humor about some things - politics is a sideshow, not the MAIN TENT meaning of life, my friends and fellow Americans and human beings the world over.... whatever you do-- HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

PLUS, u would have to actually back up what u said about Pa's religion in a real debate with him. u are a coward, no wonder u took the easy way out and *apologized*.

What I think, what I mean, how intelligent I am, how bigoted, and what tv stations I watch, and of course how cowardly I am. Just like every other conservative, a bully. I apologized to burrows bc he was right, But I'm sure that makes no sense to a *man* like you. You see I can take in new information, consider it , and change my mind - or as you call it, weakness. You're a great example of everything I don't like about conservatives, they figure if they are aggressive enough or loud enough they can control discourse without worrying about what's true.

  • but, I wish that the concept of both sides vanished, and we consider ourselves as people with political differences rather than enemies who keep needing to win battles of the mind...

This was a simple test of facts, not opinions.*--- i totally debunked that drivel. thats fact, not bullying. *as for mormanism being a cult...unless you believe John smith had a secret pipeline to God, perhaps cult isn't an inappropriate word for a group misled by a charlatan.* thats not trying to be considerate to Pa's religion, that YOUR bigotry. again, fact not *telling u how to think*. YOU'RE the one who made the bigoted statement, and when called out on it, cowered away from it. why would u make such a bigoted statement in one post and then cowardly back track on it in another? its because u got called out on it when u thought u wouldnt. u thought Mormonism was an easy target and u attacked it. and, like the typical progressive, ran away from ur initial statements. that is cowardice. *Jay, why do you suppose people who get their news exclusively from fox knew less on a test of current affairs than viewers from all other news shows, by a wide margin.*--- YOU'RE the one that brought up TV stations NOT me. i NEVER said u watched MSNBC. again, YOUR words, YOUR post. of course, these examples all lead to ur obvious lack of intelligence. or maybe ur willing being obtuse? either way, it makes u look bad. BTW- the truth has never been associated with bullying, aggressive or loud. its just the truth. it always rubs progressives the wrong way. wonder why lol?

    Jay you don't get it

    by Amfpsych

You call my cowardice a fact because you assume I backed away from a statement because I'm a coward who thought mormanism was an easy target. You think it so it couldn't possibly be anything else-great example of a conservative mindset. I have a strong feeling that it's you who never apologizes unless it's out of self perceived cowardly feelings. But can you see how you base you conclusions on how you think I feel. You implied in an earlier post that I was an msnbc watcher, I'm just not bitter enough to go back and repost your drivel. And back to maher, let's say he was wrong on the ranking of the us in inequality, but he was only trying to state that we have a long way to go in that department, which is a reasonable concept. Tell you what, go read up on narcissistic personality disorder, it'll feel like looking in a mirror.

  • WE are all just like onions, but the layers of politics and religion that seem so thick and juicy and flavorful are the thinnest layers of them all... I respect this about you the most when you say: You see I can take in new information, consider it , and change my mind THere should be a lot more of this - you and I both know it- but not everyone knows how valuable this is in life all at the same time- we all all imperfect beings - trying to be a better version of yourself is a most admirable trait- and that is more important than trying to win a political argument that doesn't really matter as it degenerates into the inevitable insults and rancor... Be well....

I'm not arguing with the person I apologized to - and if you check the posts I didn't name call the first few times jay called me a coward or liar or ignorant or bigoted whatever other stuff he threw my way. But you're right I shouldn't stoop to his level. I'll let it be

I accept your apology and think that it takes a big man to admit a mistake, I wanted to reply a lot early, but didn't have the time. The way that I look at things is that on pretty much any subject of religion and politics theres a lot of misinformation and a lot of people don't really know that its not correct. So its all good.

    Religion & Beliefs

    by Paul

The way that I look at any belief weither it be religious, spiritual, political or anything is that people be so into it (usually rightly so) but then they often forget key principles when expressing their excitement over beliefs like how Christ taught that the greatest two commandments is to Love their God AND to love their neighbor. Followers sometimes get so caught up in the doctrine (which is important) that their furvor can railroad their neighbor. People look at it as the Holy club when its really a hospital where everyone has something wrong and its a place to heal. I feel that if more people followed the rule of treating others the way that they would like to be treated the world would be a better place. And this is coming from someone who isn't always perfect about it.

    mcgootoo - Young Justice

    by Paul

Yeah it was awesome, I was also fooled by the death, but found it extremely creative how they had set up the whole thing of Aqualad being undercover and the death only being another way for them to get another spy to ferret out the shadow's plan. Alot of suprising stuff This wasn't in this episode, but the whole cheshire and Red Arrow story is interesting, I wonder how they wrap it into the big story? also Impulse and the speed force was interesting last week. I highly recomend that you hunt down and watch Avatar: The Legend of Korra, because the writing on that is just as great.

    good lord ur delusional psych....

    by jay2517

u DID back track from ur initial bigoted statement. u got called out on it and u cowardly back tracked. i posted the examples. how u fail to understand this is anyones guess. but, keep saying it and i guess u will believe it sadly. i mean, how fucking STUPID can u be to say a persons religion is based on a *charlatan* as a matter of FACT and THEN back track when they call u out? thats like someone saying all black people are lazy and someone calls them out on it and they then say *well, you're right and I apologize. You see I can take in new information, consider it , and change my mind. sorry if i offended u black people.* so, by ur idiot logic, u WERE a bigot BEFORE Pa's post and ur now NOT? which is it nimrod?? like i said, they're YOUR words and posts. OWN THEM. *You implied in an earlier post that I was an msnbc watcher,*--- i NEVER implied anything of the sort. *I'm just not bitter enough to go back and repost your drivel.*--- thank u for making my point. i inferred NO such thing. *And back to maher, let's say he was wrong on the ranking of the us in inequality, but he was only trying to state that we have a long way to go in that department, which is a reasonable concept.*--- translation: i was wrong and u were correct jay2517. there is NO *lets say*, he WAS wrong and lied. no gray area no matter how u try and spin it. *Tell you what, go read up on narcissistic personality disorder, it'll feel like looking in a mirror.*--- ive got one word for u....projection.
