STAR TREK 2 Teaser Trailer... actually not really, but fun anyway
Hey folks, Harry here... Holy shit. Now folks talk about wanting teaser trailers and teaser images - think about the reveal at the end of this, and the image on MTV's MOVIE AWARDS - and wonder what these exciting and fascinating revelations mean. Giggle. So cool!
Then there's the notion that this has to be a fake. And my late night working on DVD column and half pay attention to social media got the best of me. Whatever it is, gave me a nerdgasm late at night. Yeah, total bs. This just shows exactly how hyped I am for the movie that a fake trailer like this can get me post crazy.

It truly is impossible for Harry to admit when he's wrong, even when it comes to something as minor as this. The trailer being fake isn't a "notion." It's not some thought or claim that can potentially be challenged. Ugh. Every time a situation like this arises on the site, Harry finds a way to word things so that the blame doesn't lay on him. And I don't know why it drives me so crazy, but it does. It's such a blatant indicator of character (or lack there of).

Lord love a duck. Look at the `quality` of that image, photoshop lens flare, 80s TV blurry picture. Looks like pre-remastered TNG in the first series. Embarassing to think any would confuse this.

I really like the trailer concept - to relate the plot to a historical speech (Eisenhower's farewell?), like the teaser of the first movie used Kennedy's clips. My imagination's first flight of fancy was a story about using cloning to repopulate a renewed Vulcan civilization. Given the show's long history of "cloning = evil and bad", it would be an interesting challenge to writers to find a new angle to talk about the subject and generate drama. If that was the actual backstory (and not just, as has widely been posted, a fan-made pseudo-teaser), I would not be upset.

I believe he might have a shit later too. Then he'll turn up to continue work on the new Trek film. This will involve shaking a handheld camera about while people spout banal dialogue. He will then dump this footage on an editors lap in the hope that he can cut it together in any meaningful way. Because audience expectations are at an all time low, people will claim that the film is 'awesome' and 'best film ever'. It will be forgotten about a week later. JJ Abrams is the poster boy for diminished expectations.

Come to think of it, you're no doubt probably right. For some reason the first thing that came to mind was 'Just My Luck', where he's at some party or something and he's wearing a mask to disguise himself. Now that I think about it, he wasn't wearing a cloak at all, he was dressed as something else, to fit in with the hired waiters or dancers or something. No, don't ask my how and why I saw that movie. ... the one thing TREK had going for it was the history/ tapestry of 30 years of shows which provided context... so CRAP ROBOT goes and destroys this history in 20 minutes. The best/most anticipated part of the Trek reboot was seeing Kirk beat the test...... maybe it was just too hard for those fellas to craft a story honoring & preserving the history and make it interesting to new fans.

Settle down folks. I mean, really. Think about it, think about where you are. This site is fun. Try to focus on that for once. Relax, take a chill pill if needed. Severe over-reactions here. SEVERE. He isn't slaughtering puppies here. It's a single story (post, really) on a fun site focused on genre film and tv. DID YOU WANT HIM TO LEAVE THE STORY UNCHANGED when he found out it wasn't a real teaser?? That's what it sounds like for some of you. That's just DUMB. Flat-out stupid as a concept. Why? So you could hold it over him because.......??? Because ??? Fucking weird. Pathological. I remember someone once asked me if I was a *real* photographer. Well, I had a nice camera, and I was taking pictures. You define me however you want, but at the end of the day I have pictures, some of them pretty cool, and that person really seemed like a massive asshole. I don't go around calling myself a professional photographer, or claiming to be a REAL anything compared to anyone else. So, I leave it up to others.... to decide whether they want to look like an asshole or not. That person was almost suggesting that I had... what? some kind of an agenda? Pot.... meet kettle. Then smoke yourself to relax. I don't see Harry claiming that he's anything more REAL or professional than someone else, so I just enjoy being here. I also enjoy reading the stuff he writes, no matter what anyone else calls it. The criticisms here feel like schadenfreude mixed with a little mild jealousy. And NOTHING more. He's not making any extraordinary claims here or anywhere else. He's just a guy who made the right moves at the right time, has a great attitude, has some *wonderful toys*, loves to collect, loves movies, loves the process of making them and the people who are involved with the process, has some friends you wish you had, and has an audience you don't have. He also has a little of that joy a lot of you lost a long time ago. A joy that allows him to ENjoy a lot of stuff that your cynicism won't let you. I'm sure deep down THAT pisses a lot of you off alone. I try not to say anything about this stuff, but sometimes I just can't help myself. It gets a LITTLE TOO THICK in here sometimes. The bullshit that is. And the inexplicable anger. Even the near-anger just makes so little sense. What a waste of energy. I would even consider my own post a mild waste of time and energy... but not much. It can be fun sometimes just to poke a little fun at him, sure. But you guys that get all serious about it look like fools. Love ya.

I'm not digging at Harry, but the fact that he originally posted 'NEW STAR TREK TRAILER- WATCH ON TOILET IN CASE YOU DEFACATE YOURSELF!!!!' then when tbers question it, he changes the heading, an that makes tbers look like whiny arseholes ( more than usual at least) instead of saying 'Oops got carried away folks but hey.. we all fuck up'. The staff at AICN must be putting there heads in their hands every time Harry does something like this.
