Hey folks, Harry here...
I'm amazed at how much fun I'm allowed to have on these shows. John Gulager was just a blast. I first met John all the way back when his feature THE FEAST premiered at FANTASTIC FEST. The word was all over the place about the film, about John... but I wasn't following PROJECT GREENLIGHT. Instead, I met a very fun and movie-loving director. John loves film. Hanging out this day, shooting this episode and the... final 60 seconds... was just ridiculous fun. That one line I scream out there at the end... It scared Gulager, he thought I was absolutely distraught about him getting blood on my shirt, but in reality... I was in a mental headspace where I was channeling my inner whiney bitch of a Bill Paxton. I do think it is a remarkably bitchy man-squawk. Remember this was all shot less than a week ago. So a whole lot of work has been done. And the notion to shoot this happened on set as John and I were talking as the crew got the set lit. Brett Hart, our director, initially wanted us to treat it far more comedic, but John and I kept straddling trauma and laughing. So let's give it up for John for being such an amazing good sport!
PIRANHA 3DD is only opening on 75 theaters nationwide, but realize... this film is absolutely the most fun opening at theaters this weekend. Watching this with the AICN audience the other night was just a blast. Take your friends that love to laugh and be outraged by what they're seeing. This one gets a little more intense in terms of subject matters and violence than we have in the past, but seriously - you don't want to miss the last minute. It's crazy!
