ScoreKeeper Announces Winners of Bear McCreary CDs: "BSG For Solo Piano" and THE CAPE!
Greetings! ScoreKeeper here to announce the five winners of the two Bear McCreary CDs: "The Music of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA For Solo Piano" and THE CAPE (2011). There are a lot of Bear fans out there so I hope these CDs found a good home and can expect many hours of ear-attention.
"The Music of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA For Solo Piano" features 2-CDs of solo piano music from the hit SyFy television series BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (2004-2009). Many popular cues including "Roslin and Adama," "Wander My Friends," "Battlestar Sonatica," "Something Dark Is Coming," and one of my all-time favorites, "Prelude to War" have been beautifully arranged for solo piano by Bear McCreary and expertly performed by pianist Joohyun Park. This is a really cool album offering unique variations on the music from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
THE CAPE (2011) was a short-lived television series also scored by Bear McCreary utilizing a rather large orchestra for each episode. It's not too often you hear music this robust coming from the television world. Despite the show's short lifespan, McCreary composed some of the most ear-catching television music of the last decade. This 2-CD soundtrack is a must-have for any self-proclaimed fan of Bear McCreary.
The winners are...
Brian Smith of Poughkeepsie, New York
Mark Zutkoff of Plano, Texas
Solomon Tisdale of Olympia, Washington
Scott Andrews of Portland, Oregon
Keith Adams of Cincinnati, Ohio
Congratulations winners! The CDs will be shipping out this week. May you reap happiness listening to this great music!

Thanks, ScoreKeeper! Just got my two CD sets in the mail. I hadn't been on the website in a few days so hadn't seen the announcement that I was one of the winners. What a very cool surprise to open my mailbox and find two envelopes with an "Aint It Cool News" return address! Thanks again, can't wait to listen to them. :-)

Right on. Listening to the Cape now. I never did watch this series, so it's all new to me. Definitely sounds like Bear was going for a little Batman era Elfman on these first few tracks, though a lot more straight ahead. Excellent recording. After I listen to all of this stuff, I'll post again. B
