HERCULES ON MOVIES!!
Tonight Ain’t It Cool’s TV Critic Chats Up A Fellow Who Saw The 2D Version Of G.I. JOE: RETALIATION!! Plus Learn What Hercules Thought Of MEN IN BLACK 3!! Listen And Call In LIVE At 8 p.m. PT Saturday!!

Published at: May 26, 2012, 2:15 a.m. CST by hercules

I am – Hercules!!

Every Saturday night for the last few months I’ve been participating in something called “Ask Mr. KERN,” a radio show out of Southern California that most of the time quickly wends its way to Geek Matters.

Tonight we’ll be talking to a fellow who saw the 2D version of “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and we’ll be reviewing “Men In Black 3.”

I’ve recently seen Shawn Ryan’s rogue nuclear submarine ABC pilot “Last Resort” and the J.J. Abrams/Jon Favreau world-without-power NBC pilot “Revolution,” so maybe we’ll chat a bit about those too.

We’ll also have our weekly “Game of Thrones” segment and I’ll likely be moaning about Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” not playing in Las Vegas this weekend.

We may even talk more about the hilarious and moving “Bunheads,” the fast-approaching new series from “Gilmore Girls” mastermind Amy Sherman-Palladino.

The radio show airs Saturday 8:05 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific Time.

No matter where you are you can listen to the show LIVE by hitting the “Listen Live” button at kernradio.com.

Best of all, you, constant reader, can join this very nerdy conversation.

The toll-free call-in line is:
1-800-640-5376

Call in drunk, as I always do, but watch your language. This is not a podcast. This monster goes out over the air on all 50,000 watts of Southern California’s KERN-AM.

  • Did those idjits really pull an X3 and kill off Destro? And if they did, were there any questions asked similar to the ones I'm hearing about Channing Tatum that would lead you to believe they might reconsider that decision and bring him back / leave his fate in question? I know I shouldn't be surprised at something like that happening given how poorly this franchise has been handled thus far, but jesus, why piss off the fans when you can just retool the character? Between Michael Bay's atrocious Transformer films, and the trouble with Joe, I really wish Hasbro had someone there that cared as much about their licenses as Marvel does about theirs. I'm also thankful my Thundercats haven't been cinematicly raped yet.

    Was never a Transformers fan

    by Hipshot

But have lots of friends who were, so I have no attitude there. But remember that Hasbro is a toy company that got into the animation business to sell toys. They created a satellite universe of personalities and stories, almost accidentally--but they are primarily in the toy business. This shows in the lunacy of thinking that "Transformers", which had already proven itself as a viable dramatic property (hundreds of cartoons, comics, etc., allowing them to work out any kinks in a storytelling universe) was a sign that they could take "Battleship", a property with no characters, no storyline, nothing at all, and craft a story with big CGI effects and NOTHING ELSE--no characters anyone has an identification to, no situations that relate to the gaming experience, not even the "you sank my battleship" line and craft a mega-blockbuster out of it. Marvel is in the business of story-telling, and has been for over fifty years. They've made major missteps, but that's their business and one of the core creative minds--Stan Lee--is still alive and sane. Very different situation. Even DC, which is also in the "story" business, doesn't have the advantage of anyone who was involved with the creation of their core universe still living and vital. DC is going to have a difficult time matching what Marvel just did, and in fact probably shouldn't try--they should specialize in bringing in brilliant filmmakers to make dynamite films around their individual characters, and then devise some new and unexpected strategy to blow our minds in a way we'd never anticipated. But "Hasbro"? Come on. They're not in the "story" business and never were. The chances that they'll get their act together for anything other than selling plastic is miniscule.

cesareo - Yes. Yes it is.

    by L.H.Puttgrass

When Herc started going on the show, I looked up Kern county on Google Earth. The Kern county line is about 45 miles north of Los Angeles and Bakersfield is smack in the middle of the county. 1180 AM appears to be their local conservative talk radio station. So "Ask Mr. KERN" is a strange aberration from their normal programing which seems to consist of Hannity, Hannity, and sometimes Hannity.

Puttgrass is correct. The show is an oasis of geek and fun on that station. From what I understand about the cat that's coming on the show to talk G.I.JOE... we are going to talk very openly about it. VERY openly.

    by adeceasedfan

I agree with most of what you said. However I think what Hasbro is doing with the Hub network is a step in the right direction. Transformers Prime is excellent as is My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic. (I can't believe I just typed that) My kids love it. (Yeah that's it.) I don't know if this creativity will transfer to the film division, but BATTLESHIP should be a wake up call.

  • The action looks cool and the humor was funny. So why fuck with it. 9 months for 3-D conversion AND more Tatum??? After all the promotion for this summer?? Damn. If you're afeared o' da Bat an' da Alien, just move your movie to august or september. This is smelling like the flick is a dog despite the cool trailer. They're not just moving it, they're CHANGING it. Bad sign.

Hasbro's handling of properties vs Marvel's

    by BizarroJerry

While I realize at Marvel Studios, we're still dealing with marketing people and execs, I think the reason Marvel handles things better is that you've still got creative writer types in higher up positions, so they may have more interest in characters and their legacy. People at Hasbro are making toys and selling a name, with little interest in any stories. They may not all realize that there's some characters and themes that make G.I. Joe and TFs. Keep in mind that the storylines and characters for both those properties were essentially created by comic book folks at Marvel back in the 1980s. Those profile cards on the back of the toys were written by comic book writers. The concept of Cobra supposedly came from Marvel, not Hasbro. I think the writers put in charge of those franchises just happened to take them seriously. If they still sold a lot of toys with a half-assed concept, the toy execs wouldn't have cared.

"Chats up" is - especially in the U.K. - general slang for "hits on" someone, as in a guy chatting up a girl in a singles bar. http://onlineslangdictionary.com/meaning-definition-of/chat-up

  • As I said in an above post, "1180 AM appears to be their local conservative talk radio station." "So "Ask Mr. KERN" is a strange aberration from their normal programing which seems to consist of Hannity, Hannity, and sometimes Hannity. " I see your point if you don't like a certain political party. The show itself has none of that. It's just pop culture and geek stuff. The world has a thin enough skin already concerning politics. I like the show. I listen to the show. You like the show? You listen to the show. When Hannity comes on? Turn it off. Are there AMC Theaters in your area? Does it make you mad that a Chinese company bought them out? Are you gonna stop watching moves there? Ease up, dude. Chill out.

The station is what it is. ASK MR. KERN is a different animal. It is not a political show. It does not support any political leanings. You are invited to join us. But if the "station" is too much for you to handle, then I wish you a pleasant evening. And thank you, puttgrass.

  • The MAIN conservative radio station here is 1230 AM. It's pretty brutal. Also, living in Bakersfield, I happen to know a lot of the talk show hosts personally (at least socially), they play up their politics for show but even if we don't see eye to eye we can still enjoy a brew. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, the rest of the programming is along the lines of the (often joked about here) *Stop Obama Express* and their ilk. (not gotilk.. ilk) It's the standard neocon stuff. But Ask Mr Kern is a welcome oasis, and should be CELEBRATED with huge listenership to send a message.

welivestill...ornot - You are welcome, sir.

    by L.H.Puttgrass

I just thought I'd throw my two cents in. If the show does well, maybe y'all will get three hours to fill, maybe the station does well, maybe Sean Hannity gets picked up as Mitt's VP. I don't know the future. I don't think I'm promoting anything by listening to the show except my love for all things geeky and cool. Hell, if it's doing good, maybe the station will have more programing like "Ask Mr.K.E.R.N". Where's the harm? It's all good.

I seen MIB3 this afternoon. I thought it was pretty damn good!

    by L.H.Puttgrass

No spoilers. Caught the 2D digital presentation. I thought it was as good as the first MIB. The only difference was they traded some of the humor for a somewhat more serious edge to the story and some character developement between J and K (Both young and old K). I also liked the ending. I found it to be a very funny and heartwarming sequel. It should make a nice pile of money for Sony. The End. See. No spoilers.

    Marvel

    by pat

What does Stan Lee being alive and well have anything to do with Marvel's recent film successes? He's had nothing to do with the films other than brief cameos. Not to turn this into a Marvel vs DC argument but DC does have very influential artists & writers still alive. The difference is Stan Lee is better (or more interested) in promoting himself & taking more credit than he deserves. People aren't going to the movies because of him. Marvel's success has been because they're treated their properties seriously. They hired good actors (Robert Downey Jr, Sam Jackson, Ed Norton) bring the characters to life. Even supporting roles have attracted top talent. When DC has done the same they've had the same results (The Dark Knight). I think DC is in trouble with Man of Steel. They've got good actors but Zack Snyder is an awful choice of director. He's style over substance. I don't understand the love for 300. That movie is awful. Dawn of the Dead was pretty good. Watchmen was lousy despite being (mostly) faithful to the comic.

    Hasbro

    by pat

I agree that Hasbro has lucked into some of their success. At least early on they didn't get what made Transformers and GI Joe so popular. We fell in love with the characters & when Hasbro tried shoving them out of the way in order to sell new toys the overall product suffered. The characters & stories are why we're still talking about Transformers & GI Joe today while so many other toys from the 80's have been forgotten. I think Hasbro understand that now which is why every new version of Transformers is still Optimus Prime vs Megatron.

    The Archives - Questions/Suggestions

    by gotilk

I notice all of the segments have 2 links each. I assume they are for stream vs download. But the only link that gives me a left-click download is the one NOT labeled for download. All links right-clicked give php links instead of mp3 file downloads. And so far I only see links to hour 1 for both shows archived. Are there any plans to simplify it, and just give us whole shows in single mp3 download links that can be *right-click-save-as*'d. I think that would probably work out better for you and the audience. Just a suggestion... And THANKS for making the effort to do this. I've been loving the show and I'm looking forward to listening to past shows I've missed. I hope you guys get an hour 3 as well. Too much fun to fit in 2 hours. Seeya next week!

The thing is... working within the bounds of the site itself has been a learning experience to say the least. I agree that the way the shows are being archived right now is... awkward. BUT, it is very functional and, most importantly, it's THERE. Like I said, the site is very bare bones at this time. This will change. But I'm learning what it takes to set up, modify, run and maintain a website. All good and ever forward. BTW... thanks for the support of the show. By the way, the HUM is not there in the recordings. Were they made off the air or right from the board? GI Joe info right here

    by MGTHEDJ

Caller X said the thing is a mess, and the Bruce Willis stuff looks like it was a part of a reshoot. SPOILERS--------------------------------------- You were warned-------------------------------- Caller X stated Channing Tatum is only in the first 10 minutes, and his last scene is being told by The Rock he needs to babysit Rock's children. Tatum and the rest of the cast from the first film are killed OFF SCREEN. Cobra Commander is freed, but he leaves Destro behind, saying"Sorry, we are kicking you out of the band." No dialogue, so Christopher E does not return. Neither does the actress who played Baroness, and as I said it's implied Scarlet was killed off in the attack mentioned in the trailer. The script is credited to the guys who wrote Zombieland, and the director did the first 2 Step Up movies and The Justin Bieber concert film. Bruce Willis is only in a few scenes, which to repeat what the caller stated, look like they were already part of a reshoot. Caller X concluded that they may have to scrap the whole film and start completely over.-----later------m

  • May 28, 2012, 11:01 a.m. CST

Okay, so really it's just the Bruce Willis stuff that's bad?

    by Harlock999

According to mgthedj's info, a lot of the first film's characters are reportedly KIA in the initial attack by Cobra. No problems there, as that's what most of us were expecting. Destro's not dead; he's just not part of the Cobra grouping in THIS film. Again, no real problems there, as that's what most of us were expecting. Bruce Willis' scenes are cheesy. Okay, after seeing him spray machine gun fire out the back of an El Cimino? And making a quip about bad cholestrerol? Who wasn't expecting Willis' role to be a bit cheesy? What I REALLY want to know about... How was that mountain scene with Snake-Eyes and Jinx? How's the chemistry between Flint and Lady Jaye? What is the role of those funky attack vehicles? Does Cobra Commander have a great voice in this one? Does CC get to do anything really cool in this one? What's the damn plot?!?

  • May 28, 2012, 7:29 p.m. CST

Zarles, what part of "why" do YOU not understand?

    by Harlock999

I mean, I'm not getting the impression that the entire film will have to be re-shot. It seems the producers may just want to include more Channing Tatum (again, maybe) ... and "clean up" the Bruce Willis bits that apparently felt tacked on. Personally, I want to hear about the film AS A WHOLE. (Especially regarding the Snake-Eyes and Flint/Lady Jaye scenes.) Don't you?

  • May 28, 2012, 9:19 p.m. CST

And no, that's not the reason why liberal radio never works.

    by gotilk

It never works because.... typically (!!! pay attention to that word please !!!) People under 55 typically do not listen to the radio anymore, let alone AM. But if a niche show reaches the right audience, a hit is possible. and... They never do it right. They always try to identify themselves as a LIBERAL network. The better idea would be to start a GOOD network first, then if some kind of bent, or agenda reveals itself... embrace it. Air America was a gigantic clusterfuck. How many times did they fire the only great on-air talent they had? 3 times? Jeeze. It's like Disney trying to sell a movie to adults (John Carter anyone?). STOP adding the disney name to the product and adults will show up. In other words... make good radio and knock it off with the agendas. Hire great air talent and if some of it is liberal, so be it. If some of it is conservative/libertarian....? All the better for having some ACTUAL balance rather than doublespeak balance.

I've been on-air (non-commercial radio, KVMR and cable radio) several times. Mostly guest-shots. But man... I had a BLAST. I was on one night and the guy that came after me couldn't make it so I was on-air for almost 6 hours. I had so much fun I almost exploded on-air. I wish radio would make a comeback, but pretty much the only way that would even be possible in the future is if Clear Channel started to go under and had to sell off stations again. I remember when my choir teacher in High School purchased (her husband really) the local retro r&b station and turned it into ...really.. the first alternative station in the Sacramento region. It didn't last long, but how cool would it be if literally *mom and pop* could again BUY a station and try something new?? I think the death of this automated radio thing is long overdue, and WILL happen. Just not soon enough for me. And who knows who will take over. It's not like they can pull anything off cheaper...... except..... PAYING chicken feed to young, hungry DJs and program directors with a passion for music/alternative talk and just DOING IT!!! Who's in??? Let's do it.

  • May 28, 2012, 9:44 p.m. CST

This is a personal peeve/rant favorite of mine: radio.

    by gotilk

What irks me most of all is that the ONLY reason Clear Channel is doing well (in my opinion) is that they are able to *somehow* (yes, I'm vaguely implying foul play, but not really) able to play the ratings game. They've figured out how to rig the game somehow and it's so obvious it's ridiculous. Everyone knows that radio itself is going down the tubes, yet look at Clear Channel's stock. At the beginning of 2009 the stock rose just as interest in radio started really going downhill and it kept rising in spite of the reality. Recently there's a pretty abrupt downturn, but it's not by much. Bottom line... if you own most of the competition, competition loses credibility. Of COURSE they're beating non-commercial or public radio. They always will. It's a false win. In my region soccer-mom rock competes with soccer-mom rock and light rap/top 40 competes with light rap/top 40. And the rest is nostalgia radio or public/non-commercial. But that sort of rigged game can only go on for so long. Eventually advertisers will wise up and realize that they're not ACTUALLY reaching consumers and the shit will hit the fan. Just a matter of time. Some young upstart in a certain region will do well, get written up in the trades, and it will be the new model. And just like before, corporate radio will try to adapt to this new model until young people realize they're being duped (again!) and stop listening (again!). It's a cycle. But for the first time in decades, the cycle has slowed to a CRAWL because basically ONE company owns all of viable commercial radio in the US. Sad stuff if you love radio itself. End rant. I'm sure there are those who disagree. Love to hear what you think.

    by gotilk

NEW music radio. And I mean REAL new music, from all kinds of genres. AND the FM talk experiment they tried with stations like 97.1 KLSX in LA. A little of both. Some evening talk, maybe starting at drive-time. A morning show, and then cutting-edge new music during the day, with a TAD of nostalgia on the weekends.

  • *Clear Channel, through its subsidiary, Premiere Radio Networks, auditions and hires actors to call in to talk radio shows and pose as listeners in order to provide shows, carried by Clear Channel and other broadcasters, with planned content in the form of stories and opinions. The custom caller service provided by Premiere Radio ensures its clients they won't hear the same actor's voice for at least two months in order to appear authentic to listeners who might otherwise catch on.* Don't they have big enough audiences ready to say what they want to hear already? Or maybe they'd find out that the real audiences skew a little too libertarian for their tastes. Hmmm...

It does the trick. The talk show guys seem to be fair about their subject matter. The guy on from 10am to 1pm is independent and calls the two "clubs" the Demi-don'ts and the Republi-can'ts. Anyway, I like radio. Do you know if this HD thing is taking off? I have a Sony HD radio w/iPod dock. I've seen some HD stations but I don't know if it's getting more or less popular ratings wise.

  • May 28, 2012, 10:23 p.m. CST

The FM side of things...the music side is a waste land.

    by DoctorWho?

The AM side, talk radio is blossoming. And no way is the audience just 55 and older. Young, mobile professionals, stay at home moms, students, and varied demographics are dialing in. <p> Talk radio engages you and makes you think. It's interactive and forums and chatrooms allow further expansion on topics. And podcasts are growing. Unlike T.V. (yet anyway)...talk radio addresses culture, morality, sociology... the stuff people really care about. T.V doesn't quite have a format in their minds of how to do this yet. <p> And anyone dropping the terms "hate radio" or all angry white man stuff" simply doesn't know what they're talking about. But hey, I heard the same shit 20 years ago until I actually dialed for myself and used my brain. <p> The medium is entering a phase of explosive growth, on both the FM and AM bands. Talk radio was the original "social media," and it remains the most powerful.<p> Again, great posts :)

    by Zarles

As I've stated repeatedly before, I've seen the entire film as it stood at the beginning of April. Maybe you missed me saying so, but it blows. Chemistry between Flint and Lady Jaye is practically non-existent, as both characters are treated as little more than window dressing than anything else. Neither of them can act worth a goddamn, with Adrianne Palicki only showing a minimal amount of emotion in some of her backstory scenes. DJ Caruso or whatever his name is? Forget it. They might as well have casted Pauly Shore. The mountain scene is probably one of the only entertaining action scenes of the movie, but it's so badly shot and edited that you can barely see what's going on. It has a few redeeming shots, but overall, I felt let down by it. Cobra Commander's voice sounds like a default 'Deep Scary Voice' setting on a soundboard. It could be replaced with ADR from whomever, but the version I heard was ridiculous. As for his 'doing anything cool', there's some half-assed plan about dropping stuff on big cities from satellites that would never EVER work in real life (it's called an atmosphere, people), and also where he shits all over the Destro character to get the movie started, but besides that, no. The 'plot' is basically Roadblock, Flint and Lady Jaye being the last three Joes to survive an attack and having to take on Zartan, Firefly, and CC in the aforementioned plan to drop shit on big cities all over the world. It's stupid. End of movie.

    l.h.puttgrass HD radio...

    by gotilk

I have HD radio on my old Zune HD, and it's all been basically wasted on junk. It's either a clone of what they already offer, or comedy clips, live music only, oldies, that's about it in my region. They really wasted the capabilities of HD radio. They could have had protected side-band channels that could only be unlocked with proof of age at the time of radio purchase, to have truly uncensored radio side-band stations... but they dropped that ball. They could have had challenging, cutting edge music programming on side bands.... but they dropped that ball. They could have had all-talk side-band stations, you guessed it. Essentially they had all this potential, so many options, and they went cheap and easy. As usual in radio.

Oh and here's the link to the fake callers story...

    by gotilk

http://tinyurl.com/482z52d They tried to cover it up, but once it's on the Internet... there's no such thing as deletion. I always suspected SOME shows had fake callers. Especially the conservative shows that had liberal callers that fit stereotypes a bit TOO well if you know what I mean. But I honestly thought that I was just being paranoid. nope.

I agree with you, but I think those are the exceptions, not the rule. I think certain audiences are growing... depending on the show. And I think others with artificially bloated ratings are dying out. Overall, the size of the radio audience is shrinking, but AM not as much as FM for sure. FM is basically dead in the water. I think I probably love talk radio as much as you do, and you're right. It's not ALL angry white dudes. There's a HELL of a lot more innovation in am talk than there is in FM... by FAR. There are a couple of shows in my area I catch from time to time that do not fit into the stereotype for am talk. And I think those shows are doing well, slowly finding audiences. Yes, they lean libertarian... but then again so do I a little. That's the mean reason why I can't take much of conservative radio seriously. Far too preachy, not hands-off enough when it comes to politics. Sure they talk the talk when it's convenient. But then they do exactly what they accuse liberals of... legislating morality and behavior. Social engineering through law. Whining about being oppressed while being the majority. Especially when *we're oppressed* is usually just *why won't you let us pass laws that represent our views??*. This is not oppression, it's actually the opposite. They are trying to be the oppressors and whining that they're the ones being oppressed for not being allowed to oppress others. (whew... mouthful, that) I can't abide. If I can tune into a show, no matter how it leans, and hear genuine views being expressed, intelligently, without it turning into a shouting match, or people being cut off when they're starting to make a point and it pisses off the host, then I'm there. I'm hooked. I'll be loyal. I don't care who does it... if Limbaugh did it right now, I'd listen. And I remember when it was like that. I miss FM talk... a lot. They were doing well, why they were taken off is still a mystery... to everyone, even the ones who worked there. I, and others are convinced it was personal, or political.

And speaking of the ol' Zune HD.

    by gotilk

What sucks is that you don't get ANY of the AM HD radio side-band stations. I have no clue what's on those stations in my area. I guess I'll have to grab a tuner at some point. Thing is, with the Zune.. I thought I had.

  • FM here in my area is still a vast wasteland of crap they think people want. But good radio is almost never what people want... at first. It almost always starts with 1000s of pissed off people calling in to tell you that you're not playing anything they know, or that they miss the classic rock, or the 90s rock. And then the audience finds you. And that's when it gets exciting. That's basically the story of alternative rock in the late 80s and the 90s. It started VERY slowly. Matter of fact, it pretty much started right where I live, the Sacramento region. Yes, SF and LA did it first, but when they did it here and it worked, that proved that it could work somewhere besides the typically progressive big cities and it went nationwide. The mistake they did was rest on their laurels and they refused to move forward, playing the same old stale crap, afraid of alienating an audience that was probably too busy breastfeeding to listen anyway. As you can tell, I could go on about radio indefinitely. Why? Because I LOVE RADIO. And I want it to come back, and be risky again.

  • It could happen.

    Agreed gotik

    by DoctorWho?

And I know the personalities your talking about... arguments and interruptions won't get me to tune back in too often thank you. The guys I like are national hosts talking to authors, doing hour-long interviews, and delving into stories or topics that we NEVER hear in mainstream news. EVER. <p> Kind of funny that radio...one of the oldest mediums, is experiencing such a resurgence and not getting left behind like so much of the other institutional 'dinosaur media' models who have yet (or refuse) to adapt. Limbaugh and Stern destroyed the old radio model and it hasn't been the same since. And now, the industry it finds itself at the cutting edge with all other interconnected 'social media' (Twitter, blogs, internet radio). The movie and music industries only wish they could have been that far ahead of the curve.

    Lol zarles.

    by adeceasedfan

Glad to see you're getting that attention you've been begging for in the last few months, princess.

  • May 29, 2012, 9:37 a.m. CST

    Thanks, Zarles, for the elaboration.

    by Harlock999

Unfortunately, it seems the trailer prepared me for something not at all resembling what was actually put on film. God only knows what's going to be done with this film over the next few months...

  • hmmm, why is that gotik? Because It sounds simular to the Band Megadeth or does the name orginate from some Obese dumbass Girl called Beth? could be both. Oh, and if it's moreso the first question, than s/he is in same company as Megadeth's lead Dave Mustaine who next to Pat Boone supported would be but never was Presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Dave has really lost his fucking mind now that he's this "Devout' Christian. So I guess after all that drinking, drugging and fucking groupies you now are an upstanding Man of God? Ni99a please. If it wasn't for songs like Psychotron and Holy wars, I would sale my entire collection of CD's. Cant sale MP3 tracks but at the same time, you have the option not to pay for them either. (0:<

    gotilk - HD radio.

    by L.H.Puttgrass

Most of the HD stations here offer more of the same also. With some exceptions... 870AM Talk radio is also 105.3FM. 105.3-1 is the same as 870AM but in HD stereo. 105.3-2 is classic blues called the Delta. John Lee hooker, the Allman brothers Band, Sonny Lee Williamson, and such. 99.5FM Talk Radio or as they call themselves "99.5FM Rush Radio" has talk on 99.5-1 and classic rock on 99.5-2. 89.9FM the local NPR station has -1, -2, and -3 stations with different programming: classical, jazz, and news. Otherwise, there ain't much there it seems.

  • May 29, 2012, 4:54 p.m. CST

    Awwww. What's the matter, adeceasedfan?

    by Zarles

Jealous? Or still just pissed you were wrong? Eat a dick, little boy. Yeah, I'm such an attention whore for trying to clear up the rumors that this movie was going to be anywhere near good. Remember what this website is about? Yup, that's right - movies. So suck it. Long and hard. Maybe someday you'll have something to say that anyone gives a single shit about. No, it's not those microbiotic steel-eating things from the first movie. At least those somehow made sense. It's basically just these long metal tube things that would be dropped from satellites and would somehow cause the city they land on to be completely destroyed. Because they wouldn't just burn up in the Earth's atmosphere first. Right. Of course. So stupid. Almost as stupid as adeceasedfan. Almost.

  • I'll be sure to make up a whole bunch of lies about that one too.

  • May 29, 2012, 6:29 p.m. CST

    @zarles

    by adeceasedfan

Look it's not what you say, but how you say it. I'm not going to explain myself again, but you presented yourself as desperate to share your experience to the point of annoyance. Which I have a high tolerance of normally, but damn. And yes I know this is a movie website, one that I frequently post on a variety of subjects, but where you at zarles? No where but the JOE backs cos 'Ooh ...Ooh...I saw it and it sucks...' What you gonna talk about when March comes? About how adeceasedfan can eat a bag of dicks because 'I was right, I was right.' No because adeceasedfan doesn't give a shit if zarles is right or a liar, but I do appreciate that you think I do. If you do see Total Ripoff, that's great. Just try to put your thoughts together in a way that someone might actually believe what you have to say. It won't be me because fuck that movie.

    doctorwho? Go fuck yourself.

Look at me, you're a Cunt.

What am I going to talk about when March comes?

    by Zarles

Certainly not GI Joe. http://www.hitfix.com/motion-captured/paramounts-decision-to-move-g-i-joe-retaliation-could-be-a-no-win-for-the-studio I couldn't give a fuck less what annoys you. I tried to tell you all about the shitasticness of this 'movie', and I got called a liar. If there's anyone who deserves to be annoyed, it's me. You don't like it? Eat yet another bag of dicks.

  • Thanks for the link. I'm done.
