AICN Toys: ARKHAM CITY Series 3, MORTAL KOMBAT, Jumbo Yoda, Hot Toys AVENGERS, And More!!

AICN Toys

John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week...

Arkham City Series 3 from DC Collectibles

To call Arkham City a badass game would be an understatement. It was epic. The open world gameplay, graphics, combat system and story were top notch, but my favorite thing about the game was the bosses. Each enemy was memorable, from that one-armed giant tank clown guy to Solomon Grundy. Lucky for action figure collectors, DC Collectibles will continue to release new toys based on the game. The next wave features, Azreal, Penguin, Ra's Al Ghoul, two thug variants and Batman. Look for these to arrive in September.

Jumbo Yoda from Gentle Giant

Gentle Giant has been making these oversized Star Wars figures based off the Kenner original molds for a while. Now we get a 6-inch tall version of the swampiest Jedi master in the universe. Most of the other figures in the line stand one-foot tall, so this one should measure up well with them. Yoda comes packaged on a 1980 Empire Strikes Back-inspired blister card featuring original photos and art work. He’s available for pre-order here.

Mortal Kombat from Jazwares

These pics have been trickling out of the Jazwares Twitter and Facebook accounts over the last week or so featuring new figures from the classic video game license. Here we see 6-inch versions of Jax, Shao Kahn, Reptile and a 4-inch prototype of Liu Kang. We still don't have a release date or further details, but we'll keep you updated.

The Avengers from Hot Toys

Loki from Hot Toys Loki from Hot Toys Iron Man from the Avengers by Hot Toys

One of my favorite moments of The Avengers involves Loki's showdown with the Hulk. In the future, you will be able to recreate this scene with your very own deluxe 1/6 scale action figures according to these new pics from Hot Toys. The company has released teasers for both Iron Man and Hulk. If you want to see more pics of Loki, we have them posted over at ArticulationTimes.com. He is up for pre-order now.

OMFG (Outlandish Mini Figure Guys) from October Toys

Kids who grew up with M.U.S.C.L.E. men and Monster in My Pocket in the 80′s may find this new line of figures from October Toys interesting. Each individually packaged set comes in a blister card package and includes characters cast in a fleshy-colored plastic. Series 1 is available for pre-order here.

And finally this week, Darth Vader takes on Chuck Norris in the first of Patrick Boivin's awesome new Fight Fight Fight series...
