A Gifted Man - anything interesting happen?

    by rakesh patel

i wtache d aoucple of epsiodes it became a straightforward medical drama with an ocassional ghost ex wife popping by. anything interesting actually happen?

  • May 18, 2012, 12:17 p.m. CST

Supernatural finale already? Wow, that season went by fast.

    by gotilk

For me anyway. It was better than I expect it to end up when it started. Pretty good. So happy it will be back, but not on Fridays. Good move. I* know others disagree and think it'll be smashed, but I have a good feeling.

  • May 18, 2012, 12:19 p.m. CST

    Okay, that made no sense.

    by gotilk

Better than I expected it to end up when it started? I need to cut back on the stupidjiuce I guess. What I mean is.... it turned out better than I expected it to, in the end. They got off to a slightly weak start this year. Things improved, but like others have said elsewhere, they need to get some of that classic rock back into the show.

  • May 18, 2012, 12:31 p.m. CST

    Scahill on Maher? Awesome.

    by Judge Briggs

The dude is smart and knows his stuff really well. I heard him on Fresh Air the other day and was reminded that he's one my favorite journalists out there... he and Matt Taibbi nail it. Scahill is terrific for foreign policy and Taibbi does some top-notch financial reporting. Hopefully he's on the panel because he's got a sharp tongue and knows his policy.

  • May 18, 2012, 12:37 p.m. CST

    by Judge Briggs

I see you're a big fan of the first amendment? Don't like Maher? Don't watch him. I don't like right-wing radio or Fox 'News,' so I don't listen or watch those outlets ... but I wouldn't put them into a rocket because I disagree with their politics and propaganda. ; )

I'm surprised that Grimm got renewed

    by Titus05

the lead actor is so boring...the show also looks a bit corny

  • May 18, 2012, 5:48 p.m. CST

Supernatural tonight. Yay! Also, did you buy any Facebook stock today?

    by I_Love_LanaLang

I am so happy that Supernatural is finishing the season on a high note. The venerable series and its fine actors deserve a quality endcap to the season. Anywho, that Facebook IPO was rather rough, wasn't it? It opened at $38, and it closed at $38.23 - some people lost a lot of money today. I stayed away from that turkey.

  • than they did even back in the 80s and 90s.

  • ...wonder who will out lie or out fact distort the other?? find out in about 2 hours! yayyyyyy!!!!

    Re : titus05 About Grimm ( A Really Good Show )

    by Real Deal

Sorry you don't like it but a lot of people do. I like the charcters and their chemistry. Everyone where I work is talking about it. It's taken them awhile to get to what's realy going on and the show to get it's legs but that normal for most shows now days.

  • May 18, 2012, 7:11 p.m. CST

real deal: 'Everyone where I work is talking about it'

    by Titus05

I'm almost afraid to ask where you work then...nobody I know is talking about it...with a 1.2 rating you better enjoy it while it lasts

  • May 18, 2012, 7:33 p.m. CST

    by film11

    You've out-lied them both!

  • May 18, 2012, 9:04 p.m. CST

Nikita is the best show on TV that nobody is watching.

    by Steve Rogers

That finale was fucking great. More people need to watch this show. It's a very well written action show. It's nothing like the rest of CW's fare. If it were on FX people would be splooging over it every week. So much shit happens on this show that it's unreal. There's no filler, all meat.

  • May 18, 2012, 9:24 p.m. CST

film11- i hope that was sarcasm...

    by jay2517

    ...if not, hooo boy....

  • May 18, 2012, 9:52 p.m. CST

    by CharlesG

I totally agree with steve-rogers-super-soldier about Nikita: This show has more substantive plot in a single episode than some series put into a whole season. Also, it builds beautifully on best elements of the original movie (or movies if you count the American remake) and the earlier series -- including the wonderful casting choice for the Senator.

  • May 18, 2012, 11:30 p.m. CST

    by Truxton Spangler

Adios Perceval. Xander Berkeley played the bastard well. Ditto with Roan. Now that there's going to be a 3rd season, it would be neat if they got cameos from Peta Wilson, Roy Dupuis, or Eugene Glazer. Madeline and Mick have had theirs. Wilson was on the Finder, so she's still working, but Glazer hasn't done anything lately, so he might be retired. And the part about the writers not being afraid to move things along or turn tables over is spot on -- that what makes the show good.

  • May 18, 2012, 11:55 p.m. CST

    More Grimm

    by nate7377

I don't care what yall say. Grimm is an awesome show. And tonight's episode was the best. More Grimm please.

  • May 19, 2012, 12:06 a.m. CST

    by I am the Terminator

That's how he gets his chubbies. FACT!!!!!!!!!!

  • May 19, 2012, 12:16 a.m. CST

    Yes! More Grimm!

    by Real Deal

nate7377 is right! Tonight's show was a turning of a corner for Grimm. You just got that feeling that the show was about to switch into a higher gear. And we get to meet a part of his past that you thought was gone. That was cool. More Grimm please! If you guys haven't watched this show lately and want to give it another chance watch tonight's or another recent episode but know that the plot does move along and you do find out more stuff about the characters. Also Nick becomes quite a fighter in the later episodes. My wife says it kind of reminds her a bit of Buffy or Angel the way the characters are starting come into focus. Not a surprise considering the show’s creators.

  • May 19, 2012, 12:53 a.m. CST

    Ugh, I love Supernatural but

    by Karl

They need to tighten it up. The opening credits and the scene with the car were like glimmers of hope. A seriously bad ass show but they need to go back to basics. Demons vs the Hunters, end of the world around the corner, classic rock soundtrack, hot chicks every now and then. Come on its not to hard

  • May 19, 2012, 1:25 a.m. CST

    by MrDark

So..uh, it was alright. Just...that was really anti-climatic. Just because Dick is gone doesn't mean that the entire operation just disappears?

  • It's not sexist. Just true.

  • May 19, 2012, 4:36 a.m. CST

@karlpilkington - supernatural is missing hot chicks - agreed

    by rakesh patel

and your right about hunters vs demons and rock. Funny we were complaining about the soundtrack and this episode had it all ( apart from the hot chick) I hope crowley is the big bad next year. least it seems castiel is back. they should never have killed bobby, They needed an older father figure, but I'm glad he's finally gone one and for all. The spirit stuff just seemed to prolong it all. we can't turn back the clock, but i hope the show runners look at the wealth of really good episodes they've done and bring that element back.

  • May 19, 2012, 7:45 a.m. CST

    Laviathon storyline

    by Rustle

was pretty lame. That said, I thought the season still had a lot of really strong individual episodes. Recently the haunted house, and Felicia Day episodes were really good. So I'll keep watching, but it would be nice if they could put together a better season arc next time out.

    3 great finales last night

    by jim

Grimm has been a bit hit and miss but last night was a very strong episode. Juliette's face when Nick was explaining everything to her was a perfect mix of concern, confusion, and fear. The more exited he got, finally being able to talk to her about it, the more manic he became and her face said it all about what she was thinking. I think we all figured that's where Nikita would end up by the end of the season, but still a very satisfying conclusion. I think it is safe to say that could easily have served as a series finale but at the same time sets up a new direction for Season 3. I'll miss Percy, though. Nice to see Amanda return, and with a decrypted black box to boot. I think I've been enjoying this season of Supernatural more than many. Certainly, someone could eventually continue Dick's work but I got the impression from what Crowley said, for the time being, they will be disorganized due to being leaderless. I guess being King of the Leviathans takes more than simply appointing a new leader. Maybe Dick was like an Alpha - badder than all the others. With him dead, the rest are just like any other monster.

  • i just point it out. kinda makes u question Hercs taste in anything if he looks up to that piece of shit Maher...

  • who has fucked u up THIS bad in life, little fella??

  • Those guys are badass.. Although I'm afraid that if they delve to deep into them, they'll lose some of their mystery and awesomeness

  • May 19, 2012, 9:24 p.m. CST

Yeah, that Nikita finale was phenomenal

    by Nasty In The Pasty

I like that the show doesn't just keep hitting the same notes over and over and is unafraid to radically change the overall direction of the narrative from season to season. Season one: The 24-esque "Mole" year. Season two: The Fugitive. Season three...? I *am* gonna miss Percy, though...Xander Berkeley was the kind of villain you love to hate (BLAM "I'm in a hurry."). Amanda is also great (and one of the hottest women over 40 on TV), but I wonder if she can hold the series as a Big Bad all by herself, unless they bring in some fresh blood.

  • May 19, 2012, 11:44 p.m. CST

Mr_X I'm glad it's not just me sir

    by Karl

I wish Bobby could have stuck around as the father figure and mentor. I was thinking maybe they offed him to show that the boys are all "grown up" so to speak and no longer need that type of figure. If that's the case I still disagree. I'm all for introducing more hunters. The producers and writers should know by now that the fans of this show are also horror fans in general. Never understood why they didn't bring in horror guys like Bruce Campbell or Robert Englund. Maybe Reggie Bannister or Kane Hodder. I think it would be awesome to have one of those guys or more play hunters for a season. Like anything else in Hollywood if it makes sense don't do it I guess. The same reason The Avengers made a trillion dollars while WB/DC executives are saying "Err uh duh let's remake Carrie for the 5th time. That'll get the crowds coming in droves. Fuck Superman and Green Arrow! Who would wanna see Super Max?"....sorry had to rant

  • ...oh yea! every cookout with my little ladies AND my big lady is a good day :) if u were closer id cook u up something too (non poisonous i might add LOL). id cook up up some W pasta with a dash of Conservative Deficit reduction sauce (LOL!!!) mixed in with some Democratic Chicken Hawk demi glazed beef ribs LOL :)....hey u cant go wrong with that! just dont ask for ketchup!!! its rude lol!!

  • May 20, 2012, 5:04 a.m. CST

Supernatural has turned into a corny, cheese-fest!

    by CeejayNightwing

The entire leviathan plot was stupid, beasts that eat people including their clothes and even eat themselves as a punishment? Castiel played a retard for most of the season just for laughs? Sure I can understand not wanting to fight anymore but why would a fallen angel that's lived for millions of years suddenly want to make sandwiches and play Twister? The drama in this show is played 20% serious and 80% for laughs now. It no longer even attempts to take itself seriously like the 5 season under E.Kripke guidance. They should have cancelled it and put it out of its misery!

  • May 20, 2012, 5:09 a.m. CST

Nikita's finale was great but done as a failsafe!

    by CeejayNightwing

If the show had been cancelled they would have left out the scene with Amanda decoding the black box and given the viewers some closure. Now its got renewed the Amanda plot line is enough for them to try and build on but I worry about a season of Section running around trying to clean up its dirty history lead by Nikita and co.

  • May 20, 2012, 8:42 a.m. CST

Most "on the bubble" shows have "failsafe" season finales

    by Nasty In The Pasty

Fringe's season final felt exactly the same, more like a series finale with a quickie, "Oh wait, there's more...!" tag stuck on the end when the last-minute renewal came in.

  • May 20, 2012, 12:49 p.m. CST

ceejaynightwing, I think you missed the part where

    by jim

Castiel took on Sam's memories of being in the box with Michael & Lucifer. It didn't kill Castiel like it would have killed Sam, but it left him less than 100%. Basically, he lost his mind, you know, bats in the belfry, squirrels in the attic, elevator didn't go all the way to the top, mad as a hatter, that sort of thing.

Say what you want about Maher, I know he's a love him or hate him kind of guy. But Rather, really? I imagine you're referring to the Bush story where he was given a piece of info he believed to be true but was in fact falsified. You think Rather really put a lifetime of journalistic integrity on the line for a gotcha piece on W? Rather was the last true American old school journalist. To paint him as otherwise shows what a coolaid drinking "free thinker" you are

FACTFACTFACT!!! Supernatural hopefully kicks ass next season. Seasons 6 and 7 heavily bored. Not throughout, there were some good episodes, but the should shift gears radically next season.
