Of TRON UPRISING!!
Free, Legally, And Now!!
The Disney XD folks/TRON Facebook page have posted an introductory episode of TRON UPRISING, which is set between the events of TRON (1982) and TRON LEGACY (2010). This episode is written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who scripted LEGACY and are also marshaling this rather awesome looking cartoon show.
TRON UPRISING premieres on Disney XD June 7...

Is The Uploader a recurring character, perhaps a villain? He's certainly the bane of my existence, my own personal nemesis.
-
Hopefully one day there'll be a revolutionary communication platform which breaks down international borders..? so then we could watch hamster on a piano in all nations and tongues
-
I hope this franchise become good.
-
It is like 4th in that it isn't 4th but it is a number close to 4th. Counting is hard
-
Anyway...heyo! Surprise! The cartoon has a great look to it, and feels really ominous. I'm diggin' it the most.
-
between this and young justice this season is gonna be a good one for toons.
-
In this day and age? Still? Really? Fucking clownshoes.

Not available in my country, guess I won't be checking this show out after all!

I enjoyed that more than Legacy tbh. Not sure how the continuity is working here, since Tron is plainly not being controlled, but w/e. I can think of 5 ways to end the series right now to explain it. B
-
Oh yeah, I said it!
-
I appreciate the creator's decision to go with a Daft Punk style score.
-
didn't expect to like this, the trailer did not do it justice. nor did i expect a smart decision from disney, using the daft punk score is an A+. the visual styling works well. the voice talent is perfect. tron uprising after one episode, just became the best scifi show on american tv in 2012. how in the hell did that happen?

Really rocky at the start, but once I got past some story issues, and used to the character design, I ended up really liking this!

For a while, I didn't think it would be rewarding for someone who had seen and enjoyed Tron: Legacy. I thought the story was going for a huge contrivance that could not be overlooked, but they actually broke that barrier and made it work while allowing me to see Tron: Legacy in a slightly new light. I had absolutely no interest in watching this series, but I say a link earlier today and thought I give it a try.

When Rinzler reverts back to Tron, he should have continued the pursuit. When Flynn, Sam & Quorra show up and Clu confronts them, the events as shown in the movie continue. When Clu throws his disc down to go ater Sam & Quorra, we see a blue flash drop down in front of Clu. It's Tron, scarred, but ready to fight. He looks at Clu with a small smile and in a threatening tone says "Greetings, Program. " Tron look at Flynn and yells "Flynn, go!" As Sam, Quorra and Flynn race to the portal, Clu makes a dash for his disc. Tron disarms him and says "Not this time. " Anyone care to add? I have a few ideas, but I'd love for another perspective

the brits, canucks, french, and even the kiwis (new zealand) are doing more scifi shows than the usa is doing these days. the scifi channel imports all of its shows or makes reality tv. american channels like cartoon network (star wars clone wars, green lantern TAS) and disney XD with Tron are the best scifi genre offerings from america. blame 9/11, all of our fantasy shows now are about superheroes, spies, or fantasy.
-
I'm sure the kids are gonna love it. Even some of us bigger older versions.
-
Thank you AICN for uploading a video not available to many of us, appreciate it!
-
Awesome pilot! Love the designs and I think we've had a good introduction to the main players! Now if they would just bring back elecTRONica to DCA! ^__^
-
looks good and at least its not that annoying mix of animation and 3dcomputer animation like they did in spiderman.hate that it real messes up the flow
-
Much much better than the movie Tron Legacy. Best sci-fi animated series, if this clip is any indication, this side of the galaxy, bar none.
-
For Beck to proclaim that he either fights for the programs or users. One of the two, if not both. Otherwise, astoundingly good!!
-
Stunning when seen larger. Very, very impressed and excited.
-
-- I like how the backgrounds seem to be influenced by concept art trends. Also, you guys are obsessed with me.

Hot damn...

For the millionth time, the premise of Tron makes absolutely no sense. Even the original, despite the cool visuals, only kinda worked because most people had no idea how computers actually worked. Not the case anymore. And the last movie was awful. L

Daft Punk deserves mad props of course, but thats about it.

Word to the wise: hyping a link to a screen saying "not available in your country" does not promote an upwelling of unconditional support for the concept of intellectual property.
-
OK, in the Grid, more specifically, THIS GRID, there is only one user, Kevin Flynn. This is not the ENCOM mainframe from the first film, that serviced many hundred if not thousand users. Users in the original film were both Writers and common users...ala Crom's user Mr. Henderson is probably still pissed that Crom disappeared (he probably became a Mac User...lol), and Users such as Kevin Flynn and Alan Bradley wrote programs. Programs in this Grid have no other concept of Users...the only User they know is Flynn, and his flawed logical conscript Clu (let me at 'em!). Build the Perfect System Flynn commands, and then anything not perfect is a flaw. What purpose do the Programs have? There is no known purpose at this point, perhaps that will be explained as the series goes on. Stranger and stranger...have some of my popcorn, as I intend to sit back and watch this middle chapter of the Tron saga.
-
Not very many people give a shit. If you are looking for factual information in your films go watch a documentary. Tron is a story, yes it's full of BS and stuff that can't happen but I'm watching it to be entertained not sit through another college comp sci lecture.
-
Im interested to see if this actually ties into TRON: Legacy or not.
-
It's science fiction fantasy. No one really cares if this is how computers work or not.

dahveed1972 : Tron is about 'Open Source' and Superman can fly. Deal with it.

I hope they keep it up. It might be the best (American) animated series since The Last Airbender... though at this point, I'd still rate Airbender a lot higher. It's too bad that they can't somehow market this under a brand other than DisneyXD.
-
Glad to see this finally ready to go! I love TRON: Legacy (took 3 viewings to go from like it to love it) and while I'm not quite sure how this fits into everything, I definitely love the look and animation style.
-
...that was bad ass.
-
post. looks good. please don't suck.

Almost got me teary-eyed to see the big reveal!

Cool, kinda serious, with GREAT voice talent. A lot better than I thought it would be.

DisneyXD has programmed a lot of my family's must-see tv as of late. This will certainly add to that. I may have loved this.
-
I cannot WAIT to watch it on my 1080p 42" with the volume cranked. And I will be buying the Blu-ray without question. Nice job Disney, that cartoon is almost movie quality! My 10 year old son is gonna flip for this.

veritasses, from your comment on Last Airbender...
by AndoSoundsLikeAMong
It sounds like you aren't watching the new series? (Legend of Korra). It takes everything that was great about the previous one and ramps it up to 10. If you liked the previous one you should love it. Might be considered a "kids" show and not get much play on sites like this (fair enough) but I watch it each week with my wife and both kids and we all love it. Easily in top 5 shows I look forward to each week now.
-
/agree with you there. While I love Avatar:TLA I was a little unsure of how this follow up series was going to go. And it really has blown my expectations. Great Animation, New Characters and best of all they aren't trying to retread story in order to copy the success of the original. Definitely enjoying the new chapter
-
The music was done by Joseph Trapanese. He arranged and orchestrated the Tron: Legacy score.
-
I forgot all about the next Bender series. Thanks for reminding me. I'll definitely check it out.

This was rather good. Why didn't Horowitz and Kitsis use this as their basis for Legacy

"Batman Beyond." Anyone else?

When did Tron have a white costume? Flynn's flashbacks in the Legacy had Tron with a black costume. And if I remember correctly, the 'T' didn't have a circle around it in Legacy.
-
Can't believe how nerdy I sounded.
-
Could suffer from the same problem as Legacy, lots of similar looking spectacle, not enough character and involving plot. It does to at least have a workable premise though. Still not sure about the Aeon Flux character design, but it's growing on me.

j-dizzle, this is like 10 years prior to Tron: Legacy and like 8 years after the first movie
by Jaster Mareel
So nothing has to match either film.
-
...of Clu striking down Tron during the coup, and he has a black costume on in the scene in the movie, but it's white in the recreation for Uprising. It is an error (even with Tron able to change suit designs between Rinzler, black and white, he's still wearing the wrong one in that scene).
-
I was referring to the flashbacks of CLU attacking Flynn and Tron. In Tron: Legacy, the flashback of CLU repurposing Tron shows Tron with a black suit. In Tron: Uprising, the flashback shows Tron with a whitesuit. Granted, I wasn't aware of the timeframe involved, but either way its safe to say that both Legacy and Uprising take place after CLU's coup.

Torrent it is then.
