Catherine Zeta-Jones Gets The Green Light For RED 2!!
The Kidd here...
42 years old seems old enough to get you into the cast of RED 2, as Catherine Zeta-Jones has been added to the crew of "retired extremely dangerous" ex-CIA operatives for the sequel to Summit's 2010 hit. According to Deadline, Zeta-Jones would most likely join the returning gang of Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker as they head to Europe to deal with a new enemy of some sort.
Zeta-Jones isn't alone though, as Byung-Hun Lee (I SAW THE DEVIL, G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA and THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD) is also signing on. Robert Schwentke isn't coming back to the director's chair this time around, with Dean Parisot of GALAXY QUEST fame taking his place.

I knew when I first saw her in The Phantom that she would be a star.

She's hot, but only had a hollywood career because she suckin on old man Douglas' meat truncheon
by _ISITIN3D_
Plus she's a shitty actress with a horrific american accent, not that the yanks ever care about shit like that.
-
that is all.
-
I've always had a soft spot for Zeta Jones. Well, more of a hard on actually. I remember her Oscar stage performance singing a song from CHICAGO with her preggo figure. And man those boobs looked ripe for milking. Damn!
-
I've been told that her age is the best kept secret in Hollywood.

How often do you reckon Michael Douglas gets up there these days?
by Mysterious_Volvo
-
Darling Buds of May was 1990 and she couldn't have been any older than 20 in that. I guess that means Michael is about due to dump her for someone young enough to be his granddaughter then. And they're making Red 2? The first was a success? Who knew?

I actually just watched Red for the first time yesterday, great movie...
by googamooga
Didn't realize they were making a sequel, though it's not surprising...
-

She's barely acted in years and she picks this steaming pile of shit!?
by Relentless85
-
Of course, a lot of that owes to John Malkovich being fucking hilarious as always.
-
But fuck RED 2.
-
And thanks for the pic!!
-
It will air tonight on stage, on screen, at the Rob Zombie/Megadeath concert. Hopefully it will hit the web shortly after.

You may be somewhat surprised by just how successful that movie was.

_isitin3d_: I've got something you can 'yank' right here, fuckweed.

And Zeta-Jones was never any sexier than she was in Splitting Heirs. Perfection!

@theveryfirst I assume you're referring to your penis, not being a homosexual, I shall decline your offer.

...it seems like one of those films which quickly disappear from the public consciousness. Is anyone clamouring for the sequel? By the time it's released will anyone even remember what it is the sequel to?
-
Kinda like Super 8. Fantastic, beautiful movie, but everyone seemed to forget about it by 3 weeks after.

Life Magazine has a photo of her from 1984 with Freddie Mercury
by MoaKaka
. . . at a "42nd Street" party, the play she was starring in at the time. She's holding a wine glass and looked a hell of a lot older than 14. It's not like it was some tabloid photo-shopped picture. It was Life. Or, maybe she just always looked waaaay older than she is, even as a child. I thought maybe her premature aging was due to being married to 80-year old Mr. Peanut, but I could be wrong.

RED was hysterical. There's no reason for another Die Hard as we have our old Willis action movie.
by Grammaton Cleric Binks
And it was great. So a sequel to this is fine with me.
-
I'll never be able to get that photo out of my mind. How, in the 21st century, could someone with her ways and means be so blatantly nasty?
-
It wasn't perfect, but I really enjoyed it. And it made more than enough money to warrant a sequel, which will hopefully be just as good, if not better.

moakaka, you need to Wikipedia up on your "facts."
by Stereotypical Evil Archer
Ha ha! I just, sort of, insinuated that Wikipedia was "factual." Ha ha ha ha. It's not.

Didn't think Reds was bad, just didn't think they needed a sequel.

Never saw the first one, don't even remember trailers for it.. Will check it out
by happybunni
-
Somebody look it up in iMDB for me
-
Netflix.
-
42nd St. was in 1987, she was born in 1969 making her 18 not 14.
-
Beeee-utiful ... and she's a fine actress ... RED was a great popcorn, turn-off-your-brain movie with actors who could actually act ... I'm there for RED 2
-
well more like purple.... More pictures, less sequels...
-
She's been lying about her age since Christ was corporal.
-
Hahahahahahaha, hilarious!!! And that's before I even see the stupid fucking thing.
-
Definitely in the top 20 sexiest film scenes of all time.
-
No balls, no bite. Bruce has looked miserable on screen and in interviews for a few years now. Mary-Louise Parker is a cold bitch and I've never seen Weeds, so she doesn't do it for me. Malkovich could've played nuts without being such a ham-hawk about it. You had the forced profundity with the Freeman character. Borgnine didn't do anything but go, "It's me, Borgnine!" That's basically what this whole movie was. "Look, it's so-and-so." Gimmicky bullshit. This Mirren sexpot thing gives me the fucking creeps. Karl Urban had an unenviable task of playing a soulless Fed, but that character didn't bring anything to the table and was basically a pylon once he got his arm broken. Brian Cox ruled the roost, I liked that character. But overall, fuck that movie. It's Oceans Eleven for old people. One big, boring cocktail party.
-
The best spots they literally showed in the trailer. It was a master-stroke in underwhelming film making.
-
I would have banged the hell out of her if i was antonio banderas, melenie be damned!!!
-
I enjoyed the hell out of Red. http://batstud.blogspot.com/
-
A friend of mine was working somewhere and Michael Douglas came in to record some voice-over. Michael Douglas saw a picture of Catherine Zeta Jones from Zorro on a co-workers desktop and asked who she was. He told him. Two weeks later they were dating.
-
May 11, 2012, 10:04 p.m. CST
I always heard she was between 6-8 years older than she says she is
by Turd Furgeson
That she was WELL into her 30's when The Mask Of Zorro came out.... Which would put her closer to 50 than 40... Either way she's holding up well..
-
That Tome photo is wrongly dated - going by Mercury's appearance it's certainly no earlier than '87.
-
... is no secret. she was a huge TV star in the UK due to the Darling Buds Of May, when she was 20. Before that she'd been a theatre actress, I think, in her teens. Even if she had been a few years older, there would have been no reason for an actress in her mid-20s to lie about her age, and in any case she actually looked younger than her years. Ya bunch of fannies.
-
EDIT FUNCTION!!
-
is fucking hot, RED hot. Especially when Bruce has her tied to the bed. Also I hope they impliment the last scene into the sequel where Bruce pushing Malkovich in a wheel barrow (I think?) and explosions are going off around them.
-
For a woman pushing fifty she looks a good fifteen years younger that her true age. Meanwhile Chelsea Handler, 36, looks as if she could play Parker's older, uglier mother.

And Red was the definition of a "wait for Netflix" movie
by Nasty In The Pasty
It wasn't *bad*, per se, but I can barely remember a thing about it, except for Helen Mirrin weilding a machine gun and thinking, "Wow, Ernest Borgnine is still kicking. Good for him".
-

I did see it but barely remember it. I think Morgan freeman dies a few times in it.

Phew, glad to see I wasn't the only one who felt Red was lame.
by HollywoodHellraiser
It was. There wasn't anything exciting about it and the "old folks" really weren't badass! I like Helen, Morgan, and Bruce but how this film became a "hit" is beyond. It wasn't even a good action/comedy film!
-
...not doing shit that is way past their prime.
-
That's a smoking hot picture.

RED was lifeless and the jokes painfully unfunny-"We're old, and we're still kicking ass, get it?"
