Luke Evans Rides Into FAST SIX As The Villain!!
The Kidd here...
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker have another adversary to deal with as they hit the road once more for FAST SIX. This time it'll be Luke Evans in the other car, according to Variety, as FAST SIX continues to lock up its cast. Evans was most recently seen in THE RAVEN, which means most of you didn't see him at all, but, before that, perhaps you remember him from IMMORTALS or CLASH OF THE TITANS, and you can see him in the role of Bard later this year in THE HOBBIT.
While the plot is being kept a secret, it's safe to say that another heist-type movie will be heading our way, as the franchise continues moving away from the fast cars and street racing that the first four FAST/FURIOUS films were built on. Evans' casting means that Dom and Brian, with Michelle Rodriguez back in the fold, won't just be on the run from The Rock. It appears that Evans will be playing another crew's leader, also in for the same job. Hmmm... sounds like things are going to get crowded going for the same target.

I mean the guy even made the Three Musketeers slightly watchable. Let's just hop he doesn't turn into the new Mark Strong and become the go to British Bad Guy. He is better than that, as is Mark Strong.
-
Fast Six just sounds boring
-
this guys needs some love and a leading man role.
-
That was what I liked about Fast 5 -- they ditched the "I live my life a quarter-mile at a time"/"racing is my religion" bullshit and just made the movie a balls-to-the-wall heist film. Many of the previous films took themselves way seriously, compared to Fast 5, and I think that's where they lost a lot of the audience.
-
I liked FAST FIVE a great deal and am wondering where this is going. Luke Evans is pretty great.

Um.. didn't they kill Michelle Rodriguez in.. um, #4 I think?
by LargoJr
Mind you.. I'd STILL do her even if she IS dead.. but that's just me
-
They teased that she was still alive at the end of 5. I am sure they will come up with some convoluted plot device for why she is still alive. I mean Han died in Tokyo Drift and he is still tooling around with the crew. Although I don't think her being alive will just be a timeline thing like Han.

Jeebus christ.. you guys are actually going to MAKE me watch these fucking movies AREN'T you?
by LargoJr
sonofabitch.. and here it was with NO small amount of smugness that I loudly declared these movies to be empty headed retardedness and SORELY not in need of my time. But I'm also a Michelle Rodriguez fan, and since she seems to be a regular in the films, just reading wiki posts about the movies isn't going to cut it I'm afraid. BUT NO FUCKING WAY am I watching Tokyo Drift.. YOU FUCKING HEAR ME GODAMNIT!?!?!? Why do I hate this whole import car culture crap? Because I lived in the middle of it. San Diego, L.A. San Francisco... I fucking hated these people. ALl so desperate to belong to something UNIQUELY theirs.. but take that one thing away and you have WHAT exactly...? Nothing, that's my point. They invest their whole lives into this one thing, and without it they had nothing. Wanna go surfing? Nah man.. gotta retune for the auto-cross at Moffett. Want to go with me mountain climbing? Gotta work extra shifts to buy those new shocks. Were going to see a movie, wana join? Can't saving for those new injectors I told you about. Wanna go with us to the ranch and do some horse riding? Can't, need to replace the manifold I blew.. FUCK THAT SHIT.....
-
If they're trying to break away from street racing now's the perfect time to just go with FURIOUS 6.

the whole Fast franchise is awesome and probably one of only a few where there isnt a sucky or disappointing movie in it. If anything its the one franchise you would never have expected to have lasted.

Ignoring Tokyo Drift = Asian director trying to keep only asian character alive.

and count me in as one who wants it to be called 'Furious Six'
-
Will hate it.

It was never confirmed her character actually died. They just showed scenes of Dom Toretto dramatizing her death in his head.

I'm a sucker for Vin Diesel and admittedly had a fun time with Tokyo Drift.

Fast Five was enjoyable on demand though I'd have felt differently paying to see it. Still though, I am amazed that I enjoy these movies at all. They're that pleasure you feel guilty for having sometimes I guess.

HAHAHA.

Fast Five was way overhyped. Too many implausible moments.
by IronEagle74
Also, I still don't get why so many people in the theater thought some of the characters were so funny. They weren't. Plot holes, too much implausibility to take the movie serious, and please tell me why they brought Vince back only to kill him?
-
And this from a guy that defends the series more than most. It was too long, and having those morons in a cliched "Heist" plot was unwatchable. It had a great beginning, and good ending-That's it.
-
#1- actually not bad, I enjoyed it. Retarded plot, and the dialogue was pure unadulterated shit.. but the characters were likeable and the action was fun. #2- bit more serious in tone, less likely to believe, more retardation then #1, kind of likeable characters, VERY bad plot, action even more fun and goofy then #1. #3- Not a fucking chance in hell, not going to watch this to save a persons life. #4- much more believable plot, action wasn't as goofy, dialogue was greatly improved, almost as fun to watch as #1, could do without the whole 'Profiler' aspect #5- watching it now, but so far its pretty much 99% ignorant unbelievable bullshit. It doesn't stretch credulity, it laughs in its face.
-
... or does Joaquim de Almeida (Hernan Reyes, the 'Big Bad') look like god damn Fred Flintstone? Man has NOT aged well since 'Clear & Present Danger'
-
but i also didnt watch clash or immortals cause i dont watch shitty movies in general, not just select shitty movies...
-
some of you people were trying to take fast fuve seriously? of course you didnt enjoy it, you werent supposed to take it seriosly and if you didn't, it made the movie awesome as hell. i mean they drove a car off a cliff, jumped out and landed into water and were fine. their attitiude was on the lines of yolo not plausibility

This ran on HBO all the time when I was a kid.Had to watch it everytime. I think it's Van Damme's first film(er...movie).Watch the whole thing with some friends on commentatelike MST3K (for all you thirtysomethings like myself) or just fast forward to 1:01:34 for one of the funniest training montages ever! http://youtu.be/J5OgQ1svrc4 if that link doesn't work... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5OgQ1svrc4&list=PL6D40F1BBAF4FCECA&index=11&feature=plpp_video

Because he didn't have to play the warrior or God or warrior God or some caricature.
-
Lol, thanks for that man. Looks like they ripped off parts of those training sequences directly from the Shaw Brothers movies of the 70's. Fun stuff!
