Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We all knew it was coming. Hell, Marvel even teased the next villain in the credits. Oh, and the movie is setting box office records and has the critics, geek and non-geek alike, eating out of its hand.
But Bob Iger said on a big stock holder conference call that Disney is actively developing the sequel and, surprise surprise, Avengers merchandise is in high demand!
At what point will discussing the villain in the next film become a spoiler? I'll give it a little more time, but it's gotta be soon and that's bound to be a fun discussion. There's so many ways to go and the villain itself promises an even bigger scope than the first film.
When I was on the set, Kevin Feige hinted that 2015 was the planned release year for the sequel. Here's hoping we can get Ant Man filmed so there's some new blood within the group! And that also gives Marvel a few years to work out secret deals with Fox and Sony to license their own characters so we all shit ourselves when the Fantastic Four shows up and Spidey swings in to save the day at a certain point.
A dork can dream, can't he?
