The on-again, off-again courtship between Marvel Studios and Jessica Chastain appears to be permanently off regarding her potential casting in IRON MAN 3 as a rival scientist to Tony Stark.
After initially declining the part, Chastain was drawn back into talks by her interest in being a part of the Marvel Movie Universe and a possible opening in her schedule... but alas it was not to be. Chastain took to her Facebook this afternoon to inform all of us who might be disappointed by her not being involved in the next IRON MAN sequel that it is indeed time to be disappointed.
"Sorry to say that Iron Man 3 isn't going to work out. My schedule is jammed packed and I can't fit anything else in. The press announced my possible attachment far too soon. I know many of you wanted me to be involved, and I'm so sorry to disappoint you. Hopefully there'll be another Marvel film in my future. Shane Black and everyone on the IM3 team are really wonderful. I'm very excited to see the film when it comes out."
Hmmm... any other redheads in the Marvel Universe that they could summon for future films? Because Chastain would still like to do one, and she'd be a tremendous get.
