John Ary From Texas Frightmare Weekend's WALKING DEAD Panel!!

John Ary here. I had the chance to attend Texas Frightmare Weekend and I'm glad I brought my camera.

Here are some of the highlights from The Walking Dead panel discussion featuring Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Irone Singleton, Michael Rooker and Madison Lintz. The panel was adeptly hosted by James Wallace of IHeartCinema.net. The group talks about season 3, a potential death scene's tone that was considered "way too dark" to film, how long they have to prepare for each episode and several other interesting tid bits. Be warned!!! If you haven't watched seasons 1 or 2 there are plenty of SPOILERS here:

I'll be posting more panel discussion videos from TFW including a They Live reunion with Rowdy Roddy Piper and Keith David and a Q&A session with the immortal Ernest Borgnine.

If you want to watch more AICN videos, including early looks at material before it's posted to the site, subscribe to our Youtube page.

    Spoilers for season 2

    by Tigger Tales

They killed off the two characters that I found most intriguing... but at the very least, they can live on in flashback form now :)

    Keep posting stuff like this

It's what made AICN great in the first place. Behind the Scenes pic of the day is fucking bullshit space filler and you fucking know it.

Went to TFW '12 this year...

    by Travis Denson

...and holy fuckballs, it was AMAZING. My second year there, went as VIP, and met many idols. And got wasted. Really wasted.

I used to go to TFW every year ...

    by jabbayoda

But it was such a lame excuse for a convention. Bunch of has-beens charging $20 for autographs, and lots of tables handing out flyers and postcards for their independent horror films that will never see the light of day. Freaking bummer. I guess they got better in the last couple years? I remember about 4 or 5 years ago, I took a picture of the skinny dude from Hellraiser (Doug something?) and he got pissed off at me. Douche.

    From an attendee of TFW...@jabbayoda

Typical of the Talkback forums, there is at least one (and I'm sure to expect others as well...) HATER that so passionately trolls away at every subject posted as news simply because its there to insult. Let me let you in on a dose of inside info: Texas Frightmare Weekend is a convention that means a great deal to hundreds of thousands of people who love and appreciate the horror genre both world-renowned, independent and/or obscure; those people who you so insultingly write-off as "has-beens" are men and women who continue, in one capacity or another, to work in the film industry and continue to inspire millions of horror fans around the world with their accomplishments. And with every year, with every generation, there are new fans born and inspired by these great actors, actresses, filmmakers, etc. The independent filmmakers you are so quick to make light of as people whose films will never go on to be anything...those same people are what continue to make horror the genre that it is, and their passion to have a vision and put it on celluloid and share it with the world...even if the final product doesn't achieve a level of bank profit...is worth eons more than any negative, insult-ridden post you conjure up in five seconds here on AICN. The people that attend this convention are among some of the greatest, coolest, most passionate people I've ever met, and I'm 100% proud to be among those ranks of individuals. Opinions are like assholes, I know, and etc, etc. But you simply don't fuck with TFW. You just don't do it. Or, more to the point, you simply DO NOT fuck with people who wake up every day and work their asses off to inspire and create something, even if it means sacrificing certain livelihoods to do so.

It was a great weekend. All the parties were great, especially the Friday Prom Night. The Walking Dead Q&A was packed.

    Season 3

    by Salamander

I've been reading the comics from the start and although season 1 was good as was the beginning of season 2...thats where it kinda stopped. that last season was so dam slow and retarded in parts with some characters having little or nothing to do such as T-bone. The prison will be interesting to add more characters, the Governor i just hope they make him a son-of-a-bitch right from the get-go and blade wielding michonne could be interesting but they gotta up the pace. One of the main characters they lost though was perfectly cast and added the vioce of reason to the assembled group. Whether he wanted to leave due to frank going(as rumoured i think?) or they just deceided to kill him i have no idea but big loss, he added a good dimension to the team. Unless it picks up, season 3 could be its last 8(

You nailed it right on the head. You obviously read my post thoroughly, ingested it fully, and responded appropriately. I am humbled. AICN is better now that you're here.

...for those kind words. They warmed my day like you can't believe. I look forward for more moments like this on AICN.
