The MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2 theme has appeared online
Hey folks, Harry here. By some sort of evil leak, the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2 theme has appeared on the net... waaaaay early..... Rumors had it that some radio station somewhere played it early.... and guess what? It got out. Of course that is a urban net legend. God only knows how it escaped but it's all over Napster (the devil device that is going to cause problems with music releasing unlike anything you've ever seen) and according to this spy, there is a location for it for direct download. NOW... the flip side of this could be that Paramount, in a sly bit of underground advertising decided to let loose the theme, knowing how badass it sounded to permeate the world and get into the skulls of netheads the world over. There by having full market penetration. But... that's the conspiracy theorist in me. I'm sure we'll hear more about this in the trades or other mags...
Hey Harry!!
I thought you knew this already, but I guess not! (or it might simply
not be important, but i think it is)
The theme song, for MI:2, by limp bizkit (the song heard during the
teaser), is now online!!
It simply kicks ass!!
Anyways, I have no clue how long this is going to stay online, so go get
it now!!
Its 7.xx megs... Worth it!!
Anyways, if this is worthy of your attention, call me Devoras!!

Trying to offset the digital revolution, it seems that the record industry is attacking all the innocent bystanders it can, namely mp3.com and Napster. Although Napster is in itself nothing more than a trading floor, its being sued for something to the tune of $20,000 for each song ever traded through its program, making the grand total something like $20 billion. It's the principle that counts, of course. Death to the record industry!
-
Gotta agree. Things like Napster, and mp3's in general are just another complaint by the industry induced due to the fact that someone may not be able to afford the 2000 Mercedes and may have to slum it with the 99'. Come on. The same flopping and whining occured with the advent of tapes and being able to record your own copy. People will still go and buy the tape/cd. And as much as I hate to jump on the Limp bandwagon, I must admit the song is pretty cool.
-
The story of this being plkayed early is not an urban legend. I live in Los Angeles and Fred Durst of Limp Bizket was on the Kevin & Bean morning show a couple weeks back. They played this song then, and he said it was the first time any station had played it. He also discussed Tom Cruise asking the band to do the song, and being a bit uncomfortable with the title. A fair deal of the interview (heavily edited and sans talk of the song) is on the KROQ website at www.kroq.com. However, it is obvious from the quality of this recording that it was not taken from the radio. So somebody somewhere has been leaking something...

Hey yeah, this is dope...until Fred Durst opens his mouth.
by mr whitefolks
Isn't that just the story of every Limp Bizkit track? Musically, it's dope shit, but then as soon as Fred Durst starts poorly rapping, it all just sorta goes downhill. I dig this theme and all, and I'd have been far happier with it had it just been all instrumental style like in the trailer...fuck Fred Durst and his palsy rap skills.

*Sigh* Limp Biskit? There goes the idea that Metallica was doing
by flynno
Has anybody else downloaded this flaming piece of blasphemous crap yet?
A lot of different versions of the James Bond theme have been done, too, but nobody DARED put words to it...who the hell came up with this idea??
It was cool in the trailer, because those Limp Biskit freaks never opened their mouths, which is how the theme should have stayed...let them play it, let them metal it up, cool by me..i like the hard guitars...gives THE MUSIC a great sound..but don't let them make up words and SING TO IT!! What's worse, we're gonna have a whole generation of Musically undernourished Gen-Y'ers who think that Limp Biskit actually wrote this piece of music...and automatically relate these oh-so-done-before I hate you, you hate me bullshit lyrics to the mission impossible theme. Fucking sad. -
This won't be the way the song is released on the album. They'll either change the words, or just go instrumental.
As it is now, as a MI2 theme it's not appropriate, as a Limp song it kicks ass.
It'll be used like it was in the first teaser
-smak- -
I REALLY hope they make the instrumental available, because it's incredible. But you guys are right: the rap bullshit sucks. I hope they don't use it in the film.
-
That doesnt mean everyone else wont. I personally am a fan of both Limp Bizkit and the Mission Impossible theme. The instrumental will no doubt be used in the film, and rightfully so, but I look forward to the release of BOTH versions of the song.
-
That would have been much better than Limp's version. It really isnt that bad until Fred starts his "rapping", but the lyrics are just awful, and he needs to stop. Metallica's other song from the album, I Disappear, is much better. You can probably get it on napster.
-
GOOD LORD!! TWICE it was posted on the talkbacks and I've had it for quiet a while now. Probably a week. I swear.
-
This is what the new franchise is all about - and it is clearly seen that most of you don't appreciate great lyrics and a smart group. Go back and listen to you *NSync albums - hey maybe the next MI will have them singing the theme... Its about time they kick it up a notch - BAM!
-
Ok. What's the majority of people that use Napster? Less than people who actually go out to record/music stores and buy CDs/tapes/vinyl records. Well, a lot of people use Napster, but even with the CD Writer drives, you don't get the cool art on the CD nor on the CD case. I mean, has the music industry even taken a look at how much money is being made off of these CDs/tapes? Incredible amount. I mean, god, I was one of the few who actually got Jennifer Lopez's "On the 6" album on the computer before it was released (well, it was like just a few days before, so that's not much to brag about). I mean, how many people would have gotten N'Sync's new album on the computer before it came out? Look at how much it made in its first week of release! It made way more than any Backstreet Boys album ever released, so why is the music industry complaining? Obviously they don't know Napster well enough. I hear Napster more often from those fellow students that live in my dorm complex. Like how many of them even have the capability or wit to download an entire album off Napster, convert the MP3s to WAV files, create a CDR music album of the artist/group, make the CD and CD case art appear exactly as the original factory manufactured version? The music industry should just put a sock in it! Wake up and smell the maple nut fucking crunch (as Denis Leary would say)!
-
I questioned myself as to why I was never a big fan of Limp, but now I see why. This song absolutely sucks. The Metallica song for this movie is gonna save the sound track. It is called "I disapear." I mean the beat to the Limp song is cool, as the Mission Impossible theme will always be cool. But just as the above stated, everything was cool till good ol Freddy opened his big yapper. Final Veridict, this song will be all over the radio with Limp bandwagoners using it to whack off too. But we all knwow the song absolutey sucks.
-
The full trailer to MI2 was great and the music was awesome! That heavy guitar really gave it a nice touch. Too bad Limp Bizkit had to put words in it. The rap was really unnecessary. Not to mention IT WAS HORRIBLE SHIT!! Hate me, hate you, yadda, yadda, yadda, who really gives a flying fuck? I really hope they come out with an instrumental version of this cause then I wouldn't get a horrible seziure whenever I listen to it!
And let a lesson be learned from this: Crackers can't rap!!
I'm one, and I know I can't! -
They would never use a version with words in the film. Although the I have no specific information, I'm inclined to believe that they added words because they want to include the song on their new album that will be released soon and they wanted to add more of their stuff too it.

Why not? We have thousands of stupid ass black rappers...

Who asked you anyway?

I was posting this on Talkbacks days ago. One of your fucking goons even banned my account for posting it. Now suddenly you're running a story on it and link DIRECTLY to the file without a link to the rest of the site? http://members.tripod.com/~abesapien What a crock of shit.
-
That's where you'll find the file.
-
The web address for the song has been floating around the talkback for almost the whole week. Don't you ever read talkback Harry?
-
Its kinda wierd hearing Fred Durst rap over the Mission Impossible theme, but you get used to it after awhile. I just wish that Fredie hadn't turned it into another rant about him against the media (like N'Together Now, still, that's a quality song). But, I must digress: Significant Other had to be one of the biggest surprises for me this year. Cool CD that was better than it had any right to be. I mean, how can you not like a song that's called "Break Stuff". But, the alt. rock freak in me is missing the Alternative Rock movement, even though rap-rock can be okay sometimes, but I miss the heydays of the early 90's. I mean, The Smashing Pumpkins EXCELLENT new album "MACHINA/The Machines of God" dropped from #3 one week to #20 the next. If you've heard it, trust me, it definately didn't deserve that fate. So much for alt. rock, eh? Oh well, Limp is pretty cool. Man, I got off on a rant there. Anyway, yeah, MI2 music! Whooooo! Power chords and distortion kicks ass!!
-
Limp Bizkit kicks ass. Can't think of anyone better to do the theme. Metallica woulda just fucked it up with their quasi-hardcore-wannabe-way-too-mainstream crap they been putting out for the last 10 years.
-
That link just sends me to a chow yun fat page.
-
Napster blows compared to Gnutella.
Harry, I know you hate video piracy, but I don't think the great machine is losing $$ from the likes of me for downloading screeners of American Beauty and Mission to Mars after I've already seen them. Gnutella made it easy for me to find both MP3s and Video.
Gee, Gnutella's made by Nullsoft, an AOL company!!
-
Some wiseguy asked: "Don't you ever read talkback Harry?" because this information's been available for "a whole week" and that's supposed to mean something. Tell me, if you personally had a website that was actually successful, and a lot of people came to it to read about their favorite movies and post responses to what they read, and all you saw for your efforts were a bunch of snotnosed punks coming in making fun of you saying you're a brown-noser and dissing you because you report on "news that's a whole week old.." Would YOU read this crap? If you guys are trying to kiss Harry's big fat ass and brown-nose and impress him with your intelligence, you've got a real pisspoor way of doing it. If you're trying to make him look bad, the mud's only stickin' on you.
-
I got to a chow yun freakin fat page. Then I looked at my watch and realized the date. Could this be Harry's sadistic April fool's joke? I was so pumped up to hear the theme....and then I am greeted with fucking choy yun fat. Damn.

check yr head man. The new Smashing Pumpkins album was the only album I HAVE EVER RETURNED the day after i bought it. It is a festering piece of overblown, overproduced, Pop crap. Gimme the days of Siamese Dream where Billy Corgan wasn't so into himself and put the music first. You want to know why it dropped so fast? They alienated all their fans with the Adora album and their original fans wouldnt give them a second chance on them "rocking out." Although Everlasting Gaze attempted to rock, they fell short with the rest of the album. DL that one song, dont waste yr time with the others. PLEASE for the love of god, tell Billy hes been out of touch since he shaved his head.
-
I heard it last week on WHFS 99.1, here in Baltimore, so it is out there. Although I haven't heard it since so either I've missed it everytime it played or they aren't allowed to play it or something. It rocked though! Not sure what it had to do with the movie, but Limp rocked nevertheless.
-
You can not like a song called "Break Stuff" because it has horrible SHIT lyrics and horrible instrumentation. In ten years all of you Bizkit fans will be SOOOOOO embarressed by them and pretend you didn't like them.
Whitesnake, Poison, Motley Crue=80s. Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Korn=90s-00s.
-
just because you don't like the fact that bizkit and durst added lyrics to the song doesn't mean that you can bash him and the band. so, what I am trying to say is that the new song rocks and that the song needed bizkit to kick it in its ass.
-
We can but pray they release an instrumental version - as it stands, the guitar n drums have a fantastic tune going....just a pity about the vocals.
o well...I'll be sticking to the original film's theme for now then.
Catfish
O yeah - mebbe I'm just slow - but whats the little decomposing Harry gif on the main page all about?? -
At first I thought it was a joke... I kept listening and realized that it just might be the MI2 theme after all. What a bunch of malodourous crap!! It's obvious that the Moron who Okayed this stinking garbage was only hoping to cash in on the band's questionable popularity instead of trying to get a piece of music that would fit the movie. With so many excellent bands and theme writers to choose from, they REALLY scraped the bottom of the barrel to get this malodourous offering!!
-
"Thousands" of stupid black rappers??? Um, that's exagerrating a tad...Stupidity coupled with a polished "MTV" image is just what sells to the unwashed masses (just ask NSUC, *I mean* NSYNC)...So, the vast majority, of rappers, who are talented, don't get much publicity...
If you think there are "thousands" of stupid black rappers...you must be part of the herd...*baaa, baaa* -
They haven't done any new music for at least a year, but it would have been awesome to hear the Propellerheads do the MI2 theme. If you haven't heard their disc 'Decksdrumsandrockandroll', they do an incredible job blending heavy drum and bass sounds with bass guitar and horns..it'd be perfect.
-
They should've left it as an instrumental track. *I* know why I want to hate Limpy Bizkit.
-
It's just that I'm re-thinking my anti-gun policies in light of hearing that little fucker try to rap over the M:I theme.
-
...what, are you fucking twelve? Or just stupid? The song had balls and menace to begin with. I like what Borland and Lethal did with the theme, but for fuck's sake Frankie! Fred Durst trying to rap lyrics is to most of us here (the intelligent ones with taste anyway) what Britney Spears covering Enter Sandman would be to you (except you'd probably like that).
-
Because you FUCKED UP A COOL SONG! Dear god - please make the pain stop! --------- Look - I have no problem with what they are doing to MI anyway. I like John Woo, I like updating theme songs (Moby's bond theme was cool). However, I hate forty-foot radioactive dinosaur turds like this! Why the hell did they need to SING? Shut your freakin holes, ferchrist sake! Well, I'm off to delete an MP3 or two. . .
-
I went to your reverse _ viagra url and the theme is not there either. Is this whole thing one big joke?
-
Listen, I suppose I can admit to liking Limp Bizkit to a relatively high degree, and have often found myself listing to their music to let off a little steam. But to hear comments made against Metallica?? METALLICA?? ONE OF THE SINGULAR REASONS WHY MOST OF THE METAL WE HAVE TODAY IS HERE?? C'mon... I do like Limp, but I simply can't live without Matallica and anyone who claims that they are weak or wannabes should burn in the deepest corridors of hell. Metallica has stood the test of time, has been on the front of the metal genre and have yet to lose the throne. Oh, and believe me, if it WERE ever to happen, Limp Bizkit would not be the reason! GOD BLESS METALLICA!!
-
When I saw the trailers in the theater for John Woo's "Mission: Impossible 2" I noticed a really cool take on the theme. I got an e-mail about downloading the song only to find out it was Limp Bizkit. This band is really amazing and the original fans that haven't accused the band of selling out yet, will when they hear this. But these guys have really done wonders with this song. They give the theme such an awesome action movie sound which is a lot different than the one those two guys from U2 did for the first film. It really sounds cool and with Fred Dhurst rapping along with it, it also sounds like an original song. They didn't use sampling like most rap artists do. They performed it, and really well too. Metallica and Foo Fighters are also to appear on the soundtrack which hints that this will be a hard rocking John Woo fest with a countless number of bullits and not just an ordinary action film. I know I'm ready for it. And everyone else who hears the song will probably feel the same.
