Amber Heard Likes What She Hears About MACHETE KILLS!!
The Kidd here...
Add another member to the cast of MACHETE KILLS now that Amber Heard is in talks to come aboard Robert Rodriguez's sequel about the wrong Mexican to fuck with.
Heard would play Miss San Antonio, according to Variety, an assassin who may or may not be on the same side as Danny Trejo's title character, as he tries to stop Mel Gibson's arms dealer from setting off a WMD. My guess is that whichever side she picks, Machete's going to bed her regardless.
Heard is just the latest to sign up for the MACHETE follow-up after Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez's returns have been confirmed, as well as the new arrivals of Gibson and Demian Bichir (A BETTER LIFE)... and most likely not the last. Who else wouldn't you mind seeing for the next MACHETE flick?

She needs to fire her agent.

I'm so frustrated by Machete Kills. IT has all these hot women in it, but they never do what I want on screen. Then Trejo shows up and he just does his typical Trejo performance. I know people like that, but it's so predictable. I was hoping Rodriguez would knock it out of the park with this, but all he does is produce another film with lots of explosions that appears like it was rapidly shot and cut together by the same guy. I guess I liked the action scenes, but I'm not that into action movies. It's all kind of a clusterfuck when you really look at it.
-
it'd be flat-out grotesque if Amber Heard didn't take her clothes off for this one. she does so for just about everything else. so far, as numerously pointed out before, pretty much only Gugino out of all the hot-ass chicks to populate Rodriguez's movies has proven to feel at ease walking around showing her tits, the summit of all incongruencies to be found in Rose McGowan's not-even-nipples-on-display turn as a stripper in Planet Terror (according to what I've heard since, admittedly, I've not caught the flick yet)
-
Thats why I love it so

The first one like Expendables was terrible. Robert assembled a great cast but it didn't live up to the hype.

Robert Rodriguez couldn't direct a decent film if his life depended on it. Anyone who likes his stuff should be shot.

eloy: Because titties and ass are why we go to movies, right? Just watch a porno - it will show more.

...the first time I saw Machete, though in retrospect I have no idea what I was expecting. Saw it again on cable, though, and with diminished expectations I found it to be a lot of fun. I've had this same reaction to several Rodriguez movies. And by the way, the hottest woman ever to be in one of his films, Salma Hayek, took it off for Desperado.
-
...to call Machete terrible seems to be missing the point a bit. Like it's inspiration, Grindhouse, it is filled with intentional camp, even discontinuity. It absolutely lives up to it's promise, modern Mexploitation, but I can definitely see that not being to someone's tastes. It tasted great to me, even if those aren't Lindsay Lohan's tits. When you factor in Mel Gibson, what fan of action cinema could say 'no'? And yes, the movie will be better if Amber Heard gets naked, and I hate Jessica Alba for keeping her clothes on in the last one, and Sin City.
-
Was the pic of Heard chosen specifically to annoy the "Posts regarding casting MUST have pictures" TBers from recent weeks? If so, well done.
-
Good job Starburns... someone get this Kidd a piece of candy for all his hard work
-
with the 100% nekid chick with the cell phone in her snatch in the first scene of Machete. more please : )

So sick of this "intentional camp" excuse for making a bad film. Why not grow up?
by MENTALDOMINANCE
If there were any DECENT AND SERIOUS films in the body of work from directors like Rodriguez then making a crap film "on purpose" might... JUST MIGHT... Be acceptable. But when all you make a shit films and you use the excuse that you make them shit on purpose all it does is say you are a fucking idiot and the people who follow you are idiots.

I wouldn't complain so much if decent films actually got made but anymore, they don't... And we're glutted with garbage like this. Lowered expectations.

for some reason, I always tried to convince my mom to watch the movie (i secretly wanted to see her reaction to the slimy cell phone sounds)

Hey eloy, how could you forget Salma Hayek in Desperado?

And not because it was going for a 'grindhouse' feel. It sucked because it missed it by a mile. This will suck. I will eat my own shit if it doesn't.

I was warned that MACHETE hadn't lived up to the hype, but

picked it up at Redbox and had a great time with it. I'm down for dome more especially with Mad Mel in tow.

Machete, like Grindhouse, was a pretty fun exploitation film homage.
by SAILOR_RIPLEY
Especially compared to something like Hobo with a Shotgun which was quite possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

This Rodriguez and Tarantino stuff is like a christian cover for a rock n' roll song.

Yet of course we have these idiot followers who, just insert the word "grindhouse" and "Rodriguez" and they'll pay for anything carrying those labels.

Tarrantino has talent. Rodriguez has NEVER made a good movie. I don't get their friendship because their directing styles are night and day.

Tarantino is a filmmaker, Rodriguez never seems to take anything seriously enough to make a good film.
by SAILOR_RIPLEY
Sin City is the only movie of his that I would say is pretty well-made and better than average.

Now, if she'll just bend over a little more to look into that engine....ahhhh
by Clio
And I have to add, anyone who would bed Danny Trejo is way too desperate. Put a bag over his head, at least.

The sequel looks like it may suffer the same problems as the first.
by Christian Sylvain
I think we all would have liked Machete better if it were as simple and straightforward as the Grindhouse trailer. No excessive number of plotlines, No overflowing number of characters, No Preachiness, No Convoluted story. Just Machete on a bloody path of revenge against a guy who set him up.

Wait one fucking second. The Kidd enjoyed the hell out of Machete?!?
by Domi'sInnerChild
And hates everything else. I'm guessing he's really the fat red headed kid from Spy Kids.
-
Now you're just getting caught up in the mob mentality. Really enjoyed THE AVENGERS, too; simply had some problems with it along the way though.
-
How dare any of you question the Kidd?? If he says THE AVENGERS is "meh" then his word shall be done. Raven WEEPS for the Kidd to glance her way for one-forth of a second. Joss Whedon has called the Kidd approximately one-hundred and seventy-three times to ask for his forgiveness. Scarlett Johansson sent those naked cell pics to the Kidd. Samuel L. Jackson asks the Kidd for pointers on being a bad ass. You are peasants, throwing pebbles at a giant. BOW BEFORE THE KIDD!!!

sailor_ripley: Exactly. What a good way of putting it. Rodriguez doesn't take anything serious enough to actually be able to make a good film.
by MENTALDOMINANCE
It's like he's a 4 year old boy. A dumb one at that because my 4 year old imagination was better than the crap he churns out. I was thinking about ALIEN when I was a kid, reading Fangoria, etc. - And I knew the difference between apathetic lazy film makers who didn't give a shit and sold their crap on marketing scams & shock value vs. the true masterpieces that were around at the time. It's just such a slap in the face - not only that stuff with minimal effort can be made, but that it's lauded. It's praised. People are so fucking stupid. They make stupid rappers and sports heros and crap films #1. They pay for all of it. They MAKE THESE PEOPLE RICH. And then we wonder why shit sucks. Lowered standards.
-
Not like that's gonna happen, but I'd definitely be interested in that. And Danny Trejo deserves to hit that, even if only in a movie.

I'm still concerned about a Hangover II situation w/Gibson
by BoyNamedSue
Some self-righteous person in the movie refuses to work with Mel, so Mel has to leave. Obviously DeNiro is not in the Machete sequel.....he refused to work with Mel in the movie about the cop whose daughter died of radiation poisoning. Never mind that Charlie Sheen's misdeeds are far, far worse....they just weren't recorded.
-
One of the best movies I saw in 2010.
-
Im all for mindless action movies, but I didn't get into that movie
-
But I loved the fuck out of Planet Terror.

with whom to fuck.
