    Boba Fett Where Boba Fett?!

Thank God Boba Fett was found

His death was our salvation from the other crappy books this week

As far as AVsX goes...I like the Adam Kubert cover...

    by Greg Nielsen

    I hope Cyclops wins

  • May 1, 2012, 10:32 a.m. CST

Were you guys on something when you did this show?

    by 3774

And where's Matt? I cannot wait for World's Finest and Earth 2. WF for the Huntress, and E2 because I'm hoping that inversely, it will be as proportionally neat-o as Justice League is suck-o. Although Jim Lee designing the E2 costumes instead of given someone else a chance to play is not a good start for me. JD, I agree. SW was a casual movie fan thing for me, and the prequels killed that. And you need to read The Manhattan Projects if you haven't already. That would perk you up. AvX seemed stupid from the start. When I pointed out several months ago that divorcing the 'fights' into a separate series was a cynical money-grab, I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. So you guys just don't know what you're talking about. It's totally not a money-grab. Somebody told me so. Seriously, were you guys drunk?

  • Please give me a reason to ignore that horrible Power Girl costume...Kevin Maguire can only do so much!

  • May 1, 2012, 10:53 a.m. CST

*Insert Lana Kane's voice from Archer*

    by 3774

'NOOOOOOOOPE.' It's not the greatest, I admit. But you've come to the wrong girl If you think I'll have any reverence for that horrible jiggle-promontory from before.

  • May 1, 2012, 10:58 a.m. CST

    World's Finest & Earth 2

    by optimous_douche

What I can say is they are both awesome in their own rights. EARTH 2 should be EARTH 1 plain and simple, you will see why tomorrow. As for World's Finest, these are two of the most interesting new characters in the DCU on an even more interesting mission.

  • May 1, 2012, 11:02 a.m. CST

    @Pink_Apocalypse...LOL!...(insert voice of Archer)

    by Greg Nielsen

Nah they don't have to go back to the old costume, which even in the old comics had a ton of variations(some with windows to happiness and some not)...but the new one just seems so lifeless. Especially since everyone already is wearing some sort of faux and ugly futuristic jump suit. Her old costume kinda has a weird Cirque Du Soleil/Acrobat quality to it. It had character even if the window was admittedly completely over the top and silly. But I like silly. I like Spanish Telenovellas too. I'll admit that I also got attached to the old costume cause of the Amanda Connor 12 issue series. But I think that's cause she was partially drawing sarcastically. That and everything was played as a good natured joke. Nothing creepy like you know half the stuff out there. btw...what's wrong with jiggle? It's not dirty.

  • May 1, 2012, 11:03 a.m. CST

    @Optimous Thanks...

    by Greg Nielsen

that does help. I've been kinda worried. I started out all DC and now I am down to just 4 of their books and it feels wrong.

  • May 1, 2012, 11:05 a.m. CST

I'm DYING to see Huntress in WF. DYING!!!

    by 3774

  • May 1, 2012, 11:18 a.m. CST

    Spanish Telenovellas?

    by 3774

I love watching those, even tho I don't have the slightest idea what they're saying. It's like that line in a Robin Williams routine. 'Do you know what they're saying?' 'No, but who cares! They FEEL it!!' And I'm not going to get into another jiggle debate. Even though they result in such memorable things like, 'I am too a feminist, you fucking cunt!' Life's too short, and so's my time studying for a test tomorrow....

  • May 1, 2012, 11:27 a.m. CST

Since you like Telenovellas and because I am nice to begin with

    by Greg Nielsen

I will never call you bad words like that and then say I am a feminist. Which speaking of telenovellas Corazon Salvage and Relaciones Peligrosas on Telemundo are hitting the spot right now Just like old stand bys like Deciciones and Deciciones Extremas, which is followed up by Sin Suenos No Hay Parisio that confirms my theory that Carmen Villalobos is wonderful in anything. Now if only we could get Dame Chocolate back up and running cause of Genesis Rodriguez! I knew she'd be great in Casa de Mi Padre.

  • May 1, 2012, 11:40 a.m. CST

So far, looks to me like the point of the series is to illustrate that the real mutant power of the XMen is either arrogance or insanity. A planet-destroying creature is headed to Earth, apparently to bond with/possess a teenage girl, and the XMen think you have to be a mutant-hating nutjob to have concerns? Really? Whoa.

I buy comics to read not talk to me...

    by Greg Nielsen

That saying it's still pretty cool in a weird way. Like a totally dumb one that I wouldn't admit to normally but it's there. Why can't they just stand there and look pretty?

  • May 1, 2012, 12:10 p.m. CST

I Agree to an Extent Hollywood

    by optimous_douche

Yes, no one wants a world again of polybags and chromium, but I think this is different. The talking books with QR codes are more than just a new coat of paint like the old days. This is trying to get the kids where live. The new norm is that virtulization and the digitized world will affect or touch all of our real world interactions. Foursquare, highlight and yes even the QR codes all add an extra element to real world interaction. This might not be the answer, but I applaud their attempt at bridging the generation gap.

I'm still listening to the podcast but I think the creature you describe is Alice The Goon. You guys are cracking me up this episode!

  • May 1, 2012, 12:14 p.m. CST

Yes it is Alice the Goon

    by optimous_douche

I would have told the guys, but I was having too much fun listening to them figure it out. I was also in the middle of an intense Civ V battle with India, so you know, distracted.

    Clarification, Optimus...

    by 3774

Wondering if you were drunk was an observation, not a criticism. The goofiness is part of the charm, and what sets these podcasts apart from others. And the reenactments crack me up. The voice used for the email was a bit much, tho.

We'll just do the column drunk as shit. Alice the Goon. Yes! She still scares the piss out of me more than any horror movie ever could. As does O.G. Wotaschnozzle! Can't wait till GARFIELD next week!

    A vs X: WHY?

    by Tigger11

I realize that the X-Men of Utopia are lead by the worst leader in Marvel comics (ie Scott Summers), but surely the Avengers should realize that taking Hope to the Phoenix force in space (besides being safer for Earth) would prevent the destruction of all the planets on its current course if Hope is actually the target of the Phoenix force. Also why exactly does everyone think its target is Hope given that Rachel has possessed the phoenix force before and wouldnt Rachel, Cable, Nate Grey, Sara Grey (or one of her children) be a much more likely target for the Phoenix Force, then Hope?

  • May 1, 2012, 1:51 p.m. CST

A vs X could be worse...

    by Greg Nielsen

I mean it could end with the entire universe rebooting and satisfying no one. Honestly though, I'd jump on it in a heart beat but it's expensive and I spend too much money as is. Also, Uncanny is good as is and I don't like that Gillen's extinction team idea is gonna probably be killed because of some movie level tie in that makes them need to make the X-men less profitable to get them back from Fox. So, make them all suck and pretend Cyclops is the worst thing ever even though Captain America and Iron Man are anything but spotless and Captain America is especially annoying as written by Brubaker anyway so...there you go. But yeah I'd still buy this in a heartbeat if I could. Actually if this leads back to Cap's Kooky Quartet of Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlett Witch I will say well done.

Thats the book that put a big fat smile on my face last week. Spidey and Torch as roommates, hijinx ensue. Assturdpiece Theater. Ouch. That made my innards cringe. I think my inner ears started to collapse in self preservation. Nice job.

You guys are hilarious. The only complaint I have is I'm a bit old-fashioned (and just plain old) so the swearing isn't my cup of tea. But that's just me. Otherwise I thoroughly enjoy you guys sitting around chatting about comics, going off on tangents, trying to take over the civilized world, and just generally having a good time. It's one of the highlights of my work week to see the newest Spoiler Alert every Tuesday. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

  • but then I think...I just spent 4 hours editing this and there's no way I'm going in to take out the 4,566,765,677 cuss words.

  • I'm trying to find the right voice effects to use on those..

  • it brings a tear to my eye. oh wait, that's my own semen.

    oh and AVENGERS, the film?

    by Poptard_JD

HELL YES We'll do an episode reviewing the hell out of that movie. I CAN'T WAIT!!

  • May 1, 2012, 10:29 p.m. CST

    by HiWayRobry

Semen is NOT supposed to go in your eye. Just thought I'd point that out to you. And what is this Facebook you speak about? Is it a comic book that consists only of your face? Or a face that has writing all over it, like a book? (just kidding!)

  • May 1, 2012, 10:37 p.m. CST

Yeah....semen in the eye burns....not fun....

    by 3774

*awkward silence* The echo effect before when reading the emails was pretty good. I'd at least go back that. But make sure the clarity is there. The volume seems to drop out and it gets 'distancy' when you do that. I don't do Facebook. The privacy concerns are too much for me to ignore. I have a lot of my friends pressuring me, tho, so who knows...

  • just sayin'.

  • May 1, 2012, 10:56 p.m. CST

has anyone watched the new Dark Knight Rises trailer?

    by Poptard_JD

I really want to be excited for this, but I think all of my blood is rushing to The Avengers first.

  • I'm balanced out somewhere between indifferent and kinda interested. Michelle Pfeiffer - Best. Catwoman. Ever. Anne Hathaway - The LAST person in the world I would have chosen. I'm skeptical. We'll see.

  • May 1, 2012, 11:11 p.m. CST

    you HATE Batman Begins? Why?

    by Poptard_JD

  • I can't stand Christian Bale (I love TDK in *spite* of him). It's slow and takes forever to get anywhere or do anything. The action scenes are bloodless and never caught me up in the moment even once. I couldn't identify with the female lead. I didn't like the hyper-realism-explanation of his Wonderful Toys (but that may be Burton bias). The roof-top ride with Gordon at the end felt stupid. Yeah....I just....hated it. I assume the love for it is a guy thing.

  • May 2, 2012, 12:15 a.m. CST

Not bloodless as in no blood, bloodless as in lifeless...

    by 3774

  • May 2, 2012, 2:26 a.m. CST

    by Mr_Fancy_Pants

Both Noland Batman films are pretty bloodless. Considering the violence suggested in many of the scenes, not really much blood. Huh.

  • May 2, 2012, 4:22 p.m. CST

    Me and pink....

    by HiWayRobry

must be kindred spirits. I, too, disliked Batman Begins. I think Bale physically plays Batman well, but I can't stand that little lisp-thing he has and his 'growl' is silly. I thought Ra's al-Ghul (sp?) was a good choice for a villain but having him turn out to be Neeson's character was a poor choice. Katie Holmes as the love interest was boring and they had no chemistry. Maggie Gyllenhall wasn't much better in TDK but at least *spoiler alert* the killed her off. But Ledger's Joker carried that movie all by himself. I will hate the choice of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman until I see the movie and she wows me with her performance. Which I don't see happening. And, on a totally unrelated subject, I also agree with pink on The Walking Dead TV show. I absolutely love it. I don't understand the hate (I'm looking at you JoeN). Granted, I've only ever read the first GN by Kirkman, but I view the TV show (pun intended) as a completely separate entity than the books. I mean, how many zombie TV shows do we have to watch on a regular basis on TV? The only complaint I have about the show is that very few of the characters are even likeable. Except for maybe Glenn, but how do you think any of us would react if faced with the zombie apocalypse? Maybe I'm easily entertained, but I think TWD is one of the best TV shows ever made just because it does that one simple thing. Entertain me. I know I'm in the minority, but that's my opinion. So, go ahead and hate it, but keep watching it so they don't cancel it!

  • May 3, 2012, 9:27 a.m. CST

I'm surprised at all the Walking Dead show hate!

    by Poptard_JD

granted I'm a bit behind (last I saw, the little girl was still missing in the woods) but I think the show is really good.
