I dig.

These remastered episodes should go back into weekly syndication.
by Jaka
I bet you they would get better ratings than a lot of the dregs of the infinite cable channels are getting.
-
Anybody (@Paramount or else)care to explain?
-
Because it's going to cost $7 million.

That episode of Cowboy Bebop where they search for a Betamax... that's a good episode.
by Stereotypical Evil Archer
And I don't enjoy most anime.
-
It's hard to get her into all that english language stuff.., No matter - I'll try! THERE ARE ONLY FOUR LIGHTS!
-
So much better than that JJ Kurtzmanorci shite.
-
do I own a Blu-ray player?
-
It was just cropped. Before you could see browser icons next to the box art. Way to take a picture of a computer screen!
-
Yeah, Paramount is going to do their typical "fleecing of the fans for everything they can pay" before they release another edition in 2 years that comes in some flimsy limited edition case. Then charge 500 for that. Per season. And 550 if you want it with the special features. And 1500 to have Wesley digitally removed from all the episodes.
-
I'm worried TNG blu-rays are going to be around $100+ per season.
-
I believe your concern is justified. I won't be buying this stuff right away. I'm still sitting on the re-masters and enjoy the upconvert my ps3 gives me. Think the wise thing to do is wait for the dust to settle a bit and see if CBS will lower the street price.
-
I could even see $129 to start. Thing is, Amazon and other outlets will have them for as close to cost as possible. You won't HAVE TO pay that much for them. Still, I'm one of the people that will be waiting quite a while because I want to own the eventual all-in-one, Season 1-7 set.

Oh, and I bet Herc doesn't have electricity, so blu isn't an option
by puto tenax
Poor guy works for AICN, Inc and lives in a small tin shack with no roof. He uses the library for his posts. Send money to Herc right away!
-
It's a work of art. Just stunning. Everything that has come after looks like an ironing board.
-
The original and the refit are amazing designs, but the D just makes me happy whenever I look at it.
-
All Star Trek episodes in formats released before this, including HD for TOS and Enterprise, are available on demand for no extra cost with Amazon Prime, so I'm content to wait for TNG HD to get there or somewhere similar eventually. I'm sure it'll be on actual TV channels too. The real reason they're making this is to make the picture quality acceptable so the show can keep making money in all forms of distribution. In a world where even T.J. Hooker is now in HD, TNG deserves a chance to be discovered by new viewers who wouldn't be engaged by something that looks like a museum preservation of what it was like to watch an analog UHF channel with that circle-shaped antenna.
-
Are you crazy? The Enterprise E looks a million times better. Even the NX-01 was a better design.
-
...probably the B from the beginning of Generations. That ruled.
-
The E is pretty sweet.
-
Having a sweet ship named after a vowel is just a little weird.
-
To the bank and get some money to buy this series!
-
The D was created in the Ford Taurus era of design where everyone took regular objects and just rounded off all the edges...plus the engines are way too small-looks like a penguin for cryin' out loud...
-
has to be the nerdiest of all arguments. Don't get me wrong, I'm a nerd and I love the Trek but they all looked the same to me.
-
'Like mah daddy used to say, if you have to ask how much it is, you probably can't afford it.' Bend over and bite the pillow, because I bet Paramount is going to want to go in dry. Here's hoping it syndicates again, or is sold to Netflix. That would be neat.
-
So I'd expect the retail price to fall in that area.
-
The blu ray sets will probably be $200 - $250. Heh, my birthday.

Nice! The missing 13 secs. of "Sins of the Father " was found!

That scene was upconverted on the preview Blu-ray disc. http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/04/30/star-trek-tng-blu-ray-season-1/2/

The key to reviving the economy, through sheer gullibility and the multiplier effect.

I'd rather just watch an unmolested DVD.

The E was bland. It still lacks the instantly iconic quality
by Bedknobs and Boomsticks
of the D.
-
I am firmly in the Star Wars camp when it comes to the divide, but I've always loved TNG. I really don't care much for the other TV series (I do enjoy the movies though...) - but I've been looking forward to this. I can't wait till they really get into the series.
-
I am SOOOO there.

TNG: "Featuring one of the most endearing ensemble casts in television history"
by buggerbugger
Huh? I found them to be mostly a bunch of punchable cunts, to be honest. Riker, Worf, Data, Wesley Crusher, Troi, Geordi - not a likeable character among 'em.

Scratchmonkey, you make me not want to interact with other nerds
by Smashing
What a load of old gash, you absolute quim.
-
I think they'll start priced like the Original Series sets in High Definition. I think the $129 mentioned already is probably dead on the money for MSRP (which is what Best Buy will probably charge). Amazon will probably have it around 80 bucks. Maybe for Black Friday the first season will get down under 50 bucks. I'll wait until then.
-
'Nuff said about price.
