UPDATED WITH WINNERS!!! Ain't It Cool News Has A Collector's Edition Way For You To See MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS In 3-D!!
The Kidd here...
If you're going to wear a pair of 3-D glasses at the movies, you might as well sport some with some style. Plus, with 3-D showing no signs of slowing down, it might behoove you to have your own pair rather than continue sharing glasses with the masses that are really only sanitizing step away from you contracting SARS. Well, what if I could offer you not only your own pair... but FOUR of your own pairs... and not just any old pairs but four pairs of MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS Collector’s Edition RealD 3D glasses.

"Feels like a Captain America night at the movies." That can easily be a conversation you're having as you decide between which of the four - Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and Captain America - you want to wear on any given night, because you're getting the whole set for your geek collection.
How many complete sets are going up for grabs? How about 15... and I'm starting to give them away this afternoon and all through the week, with 3 sets going a day right up until THE AVENGERS assemble this Friday.
Starting at 3:00 p.m. EST on Monday, April 30 and going all the way to 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, May 4, three different times have been designated by me each day. If your email lands closest to one of those times, you're a winner.
UPDATE: Alright, everyone... after carefully sifting through all of the entries and making sure the closest to the selected times were singled out, I've got the winners of these complete sets of MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS Collector’s Edition RealD 3D glasses.
Here they are:

If you get excited about these glasses, it's probably been a long time since you touched a vagina....if ever.
-
My wife would Hulk-out, but screw it shes more of a DC girl

I'm a big geek but this sinks to some sad levels of geekdom.

This is for kids...come on now...for fucking kids.
-
How many overwieght manchildren here still read comics and collect 'figurines? Yeah, so please allow me to momentarily want these plastic pieces of crap.
-
and have used them to see Avengers twice. My friend got Iron Man which were pretty funky too. Disney was giving them away at a preview we went to a few weeks ago.For once Australia got a big blockbuster much earlier than the U.S. Now if only we were getting a cinema release of Cabin in the Woods too, instead of straight to dvd!!!!!
-
Probably ruins the whole "3D" thing. Nuts!
-
Doesn't mean I don't want to win 'em. I've got younger siblings and friends with kids; perhaps winning these for them would make me the most minor and ephemeral of superheroes in their eyes.
-
Prometheus & Amazing Spider-Man were shot in digital high-def 3D so I'm going with that. Poor Whedon said he couldn't hack the 3D cameras when he shot the Thor post-credits sequence so a few months conversion = not me seeing it in 3D.
-
the round lens covers my entire eyeball, that way I'm not seeing the frame of the glasses when I'm watching the move.
-
But still a conversion, still can tell it is, and that's sad. GREAT film though.
-
the thor remind me of spidey the blue ones i might feel most comfy wearing but i like the hulk ones the best
-
...while celebrating my unemployment by going to AMC's Ultimate Marvel Marathon in two days.
-
Just being sure! My address is in the e-mail! Pick ME!!!! Is there a Spider-man version?
-
They have BAD MOTHERFUCKER written on them.

Why do I have to give you my full address? That's pretty fucking fishy. I could understand once I won them, to give you my address to mail them, but not before. What's up with that?

I will beat the shit out of anyone wearing these at my screening
by Jaster Mareel
Nuff said.
-
I would love these. The fam and I see a lot of 3d movies and have a TV at home that these would work on. I'll be entering my name daily.
-
It's not a 3-D movie. Don't go to see it in 3-D. You're just supporting shitty conversion garbage that really needs to stop.
-
Where's the joke?
-
Well, unless you have a polarized =passive= set. So far only a couple of models have been put on the market by LG, and I'm not even sure it would work for those. All the rest use active shutter glasses that require batteries in the glasses and use LCDs in the lenses to alternately black them out. They need to synchronize with a transmitter on the 3DTV and every brand uses slightly different technology. These glasses will ONLY WORK AT THE THEATER.
-
Fett is correct but I have a new LG and most of the recent LG's, Vizios and Toshibas are passive viewing and that's the way these televisions will be going forward. Active shutter glasses suck ass, cost to much and need batteries along with many people complaining of headaches wearing them. So if you have a passive TV or plan on getting a 3D TV in the future you will be fine. I personally stole a couple pairs of IMAX glasses and use those at home. But I plan on getting at least 2 pairs of these.

wrath_of_fett, haven't you already beaten the shit out of someone in a theater?
by adeceasedfan
Or was that another tb'er. Either way, once I don my HULK glasses. Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

nope, it was melanie_griffiths_sour_patch. I had underscore confusion.

-
I have the LG passive 3D set. This glasses will work just fine. Thanks for your clarification though.
-
You get a brand new pair every time you go and see a 3-D movie. Granted, they DO get recycled, but that's done in a processing center in New Jersey where they are sorted and sanitized. Real-D is a rip off, go see the movie the way it was meant to be viewed, in TWO dimensions
-
They're very cool. The Cap and Thor glasses are best for watching the movie, though, given there's more lens and less frame.
-
Uh. Wow. But! Beware. I'm a Marvel comic-dork. So, just seeing the promise of the stingers at the end of the Marvel hero films met up on the screen without a dumbass studio fucking it all up made me happy. It begins with actually tying up some semi-loose ends -- then it kicks ass throughout. It's a movie that relieves the blueballs I got from the anti-ending of Angel. Does that make sense? I don't want to go all 'Harry Knowles Blade 2 Review' but, yeah....I got a geek-boner from shots in this film that are CLASSIC Marvel action. I haven't been on here blowing steam about movies for a while, I know...so some of the newcomers can take this with a big grain of salt. I don't like overly shitty flicks, and this one is so far beyond shitty that it manages to be both the best Marvel outing in general and the BEST FUCKING HULK MOVIE in specific, EVER. Yes, I'm counting the Raimi Spider-Man flicks. Yes, I'm counting BOTH Iron Man movies. Avengers is the promise of the comic book film brought to reality with characters who all resonate with more than two dimensions. No spoilers...If you have an ounce of non-jade in your heart and a SHIT-TON of jade in your jaws, your colon will deploy out of your ass like a funny car parachute when you see how fucking kickass this movie is. See it. No reservations here. Just fucking see it. MB

Any winners yet?
-
I bet the winners would like to know if they won so they can get them in time to actually watch the movie with them on while it's still in theaters.
-
All winners have been notified by now and if you weren't, then you didn't win?
-
...that I went and bought a Captain America pair and an Iron Man pair on eBay. Ah, gotta love the internet.
-
Retro-fitted 'dimensionalisation' doubly so.
