Hey folks, Ambush Bug with an exclusive preview of G.I. COMBAT, one of DC’s 2nd Wave of titles coming out this Wednesday to a comic shop near you. I’ve checked out the first issue of this series and the art by Ariel Olivetti is amazing. Written by JT Krul, this book seems to mix war stories with elements of fantasy or at least that’s what the T. Rex vs choppers and tanks suggests on the cover. Plus it’s got Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray’s brand new take on THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER as a backup. Check out this 4 page preview below and don’t forget to pick up G.I. COMBAT #1 Wednesday!

Best Haunted Tank story ever was when the tank took on their German counterparts,

toasted them real good. They thought the battle was over. The German crew bails, they're on fire, dive for some nearby water, and they wake up tied to a tree by some gypsies who decide to put these zombie looking freaks on display in their carnival. Zombie Nazi's break free, get back in their tank, and unleash an all out war of revenge.

I don't recall the details, but it was something like the ghost of Sherman getting into a pissing contest with Stuart's ghost. I remember Sherman ripping off the stars and bars and replacing it with old glory.

is mediocre. I was a bit surprised at how a lot of it has more computer influence than the artist's own rendition of the armaments, and backgrounds. Lazy? Not sure. Maybe it was more of an issue of haste. Interesting update nonetheless.
