They would be great interviews! If they were on the panel, I am sure they would be cracking everyone up too. I'd also like to see Sen. Al Franken be interviewed by Maher. Unfortunately, Sen. Franken does Minnesota press only interviews (I know his scheduler). I told her that he's making a msitake because he's one of the most effective communication specialists in the Democratic caucus. And if the Dems suffer from one thing, it's delivering a strong message of where they want to go and what they've done.

I have recorded the entire season ... I can't wait to gobble them all up in the summer. I waited for the summer (like an ant) because there isn't anything on ... besides the usual summer programming ... Palin on Maher? Ha! She wouldn't ever dare be asked challenging questions from Maher. Same goes with someone like Mitt Rmoney. Right now, he's hiding in what I call, 'Mittness Protection.' Basically only giving interviews to GOP friendly interviewers ... like the GOP's communication's arm, Fox 'News.'

I have yet to see a conclusive, peer-reviewed study that proves the media has a liberal bias in its reporting. ...In fact, I believe many people cry about the 'liberal bias' in the media because the facts that are reported by outlets such as NPR, PBS, or other channels that report the news (not commentary styled shows) do not conform to their own convictions. If you listen to NPR for like a week, can you honestly tell me that it has a liberal slant? Really? I've given that challenge to a friend of mine and he came back a month later and said the channel is fair. Now, obviously that is anedotal ... but I challenge you to listen to NPR for yourself, man. Meaning, just because the news isn't conforming to your convictions and viewpoints, doesn't mean it's slanted. This is why Fox is so successful ... they bend the truth and distort the facts to their point-of-view. No wonder, poll (Pew) and study (University of MD) after study shows that Fox viewers are always the most un-informed viewers. One study even concluded that folks who don't watch any news are better informed than Fox viewers. o.O Quiz time: do you know where and when the term liberal media was adopted? Hint: it was in the 1960s .... and the genetleman who made the proclamation was well, not the nicest person in the world. Or as Colbert once said, 'Reality has a well-known liberalbias.' ; )

Fairness in Media (FIM) was organized in 1978 by a Raleigh, North Carolina attorney named Thomas Ellis, a political ally of Senator Jesse Helms. According to Ellis, the liberal media was thwarting the will of the electorate: "We won the election but we lost the battle afterwards because of the media....Every time the conservatives start to move, the liberal media is able to change that agenda." Some scientists say that 98% of human thought is subconscious. I guess they are saying that our minds have an automatic transmission, or that it is substantially "computer" controlled. That seems, in some ways, to be scary, especially since many of our beliefs are subconsciously controlled if that is true. For instance, you probably do not know that the "liberal media" meme originated with campaign advisers of Richard Nixon: After the Goldwater defeat of 1964, conservatism was a dirty word and most Americans wanted to be liberals, especially working people, who were highly unionized. Lee Atwater and colleagues, working for the 1968 Nixon campaign, had a problem: How to get a significant number of working people to become conservative enough to vote for Nixon. They decided to start a nuanced slander of the notion of "liberal" so as to cut it down to the lowly spot "conservative" had fallen to. The goal was first to put "liberal" and "conservative" on an even footing by putting down the notion of "liberal": They intuited what I have since called "biconceptualism" (see The Political Mind) -- the fact that many Americans have both conservative and progressive views, but in different contexts and on different issues. Mutual inhibition in brain circuitry means the strengthening of one weakens the other. They found a way to both strengthen conservative views and weaken liberal views, creating a conservative populism. Here's how they did it. They realized that by the late 60's many working people were disturbed by the anti-war demonstrations; so Nixon ran on anti-communism. They noticed that many working men were upset by radical feminists. So they pushed traditional family values. And they realized that, after the civil rights legislation, many working men, especially in the South, were threatened by blacks. So they ran Nixon on law and order. At the same time, they created the concept of "the liberal elite" -- the tax and spend liberals, the liberal media, the Hollywood liberals, the limousine liberals, and so on. They created language for all these ideas and have been repeating it ever since. It was pure propaganda, but it was based on a cunningly powerful understanding of real human reason. Real human reason is always composed of emotion in part. Real human reason is not fully liberal nor fully conservative. Your emotions and how your mind is framed are subjects that are studied furiously so that you can be manipulated more effectively. Who would have "thunk it" ... Nixon political operatives created the powerful false notion of the liberal media, and far too many Americans still believe that falsehood to this very day.

This is what's wrong with these talkbacks anyone can take over and ruin them. Find a political forum assholes. I go to one all the time and don't bring my arguments here. There's enough to say about these shows without having to bring the sad reality of the current state of our political system into it. By the way Grimm is showing real promise now and has been renewed for a 2nd season. I hope Fringe can squeez out one more season to properly finish telling it's story. I wonder if this really is the last we'll see of the other universe and the rest of the story lies with this one?

I actually like it BETTER than 24 at this point, which, even in its best seasons, was chock full of random idiocy just to keep the "real time" gimmick viable. Excellent action, compelling writing and superior action, plus Maggie Q *and* Lyndsey Fonseca. It'd be a shame if it didn't make it to a third season (picked up the season on Blu-Ray at best Buy for a cool $13.99 last week).
