I wonder what Jay has to say about Maher this week?

Fringe just got a greenlight for Season 5

    by Chain

  • They would be great interviews! If they were on the panel, I am sure they would be cracking everyone up too. I'd also like to see Sen. Al Franken be interviewed by Maher. Unfortunately, Sen. Franken does Minnesota press only interviews (I know his scheduler). I told her that he's making a msitake because he's one of the most effective communication specialists in the Democratic caucus. And if the Dems suffer from one thing, it's delivering a strong message of where they want to go and what they've done.

  • judge briggs - we just don't understand why we should hate Maher, and it frustrates him so much, he has to say the same old crap he always says, including progressive projection and deflection of anything he says- he's like a drunk uncle- he's family but always an embarrasment to himself - let the same old bullshit as last week commence!!!! By the way, what did you make of the Fringe renewal?

  • April 27, 2012, 9:38 a.m. CST

    SE Cupp

    by syn_flood

It seems that Maher has to fill a quota of 1 annoying guest per week. The last time she was on she was excuciating.

  • judge briggs - my dream guests for Bill Maher would be Sarah Palin- for obvious reasons, and Pat Robertson, for more obvious reasons -but Jay will let us know why we should hate Maher soon enough- bull meets china shop!

  • April 27, 2012, 9:53 a.m. CST

Fringe renewal = amaze sauce. Mitness Protection ...

    by Judge Briggs

I have recorded the entire season ... I can't wait to gobble them all up in the summer. I waited for the summer (like an ant) because there isn't anything on ... besides the usual summer programming ... Palin on Maher? Ha! She wouldn't ever dare be asked challenging questions from Maher. Same goes with someone like Mitt Rmoney. Right now, he's hiding in what I call, 'Mittness Protection.' Basically only giving interviews to GOP friendly interviewers ... like the GOP's communication's arm, Fox 'News.'

I have yet to see a conclusive, peer-reviewed study that proves the media has a liberal bias in its reporting. ...In fact, I believe many people cry about the 'liberal bias' in the media because the facts that are reported by outlets such as NPR, PBS, or other channels that report the news (not commentary styled shows) do not conform to their own convictions. If you listen to NPR for like a week, can you honestly tell me that it has a liberal slant? Really? I've given that challenge to a friend of mine and he came back a month later and said the channel is fair. Now, obviously that is anedotal ... but I challenge you to listen to NPR for yourself, man. Meaning, just because the news isn't conforming to your convictions and viewpoints, doesn't mean it's slanted. This is why Fox is so successful ... they bend the truth and distort the facts to their point-of-view. No wonder, poll (Pew) and study (University of MD) after study shows that Fox viewers are always the most un-informed viewers. One study even concluded that folks who don't watch any news are better informed than Fox viewers. o.O Quiz time: do you know where and when the term liberal media was adopted? Hint: it was in the 1960s .... and the genetleman who made the proclamation was well, not the nicest person in the world. Or as Colbert once said, 'Reality has a well-known liberalbias.' ; )

  • judge briggs -if a news outlet does not chant hate towards liberals- of course, by default it is considered liberal-but, except for Gore's Current TV, what outlet is owned by a liberal corporation????? Ownership dictates content, I only see MSNBC having a lot of liberal COMMENTARY

    Bill Maher

    by Craig2574

While the man is a flaming lib from what I have heard (Work in the field) his production team is very professorial. Guests know the topics they are going to talk about and if you go on this show you must have fun with it knowing you might be made out to be the bad guy but its all in good fun mostly. If you do not like it do not watch just like watching Ted Baxter of FNC.

    by Judge Briggs

Fairness in Media (FIM) was organized in 1978 by a Raleigh, North Carolina attorney named Thomas Ellis, a political ally of Senator Jesse Helms. According to Ellis, the liberal media was thwarting the will of the electorate: "We won the election but we lost the battle afterwards because of the media....Every time the conservatives start to move, the liberal media is able to change that agenda." Ellis said the idea to organize FIM was hatched as early as 1967 when, angered by network coverage of the Vietnam War, he bought one share each in CBS, ABC, and RCA. This example was cited in 1985 when FIM, Senator Jesse Helms, and conservative activists encouraged their supporters to buy shares in CBS Inc. in order to "become Dan Rather's boss." ...Jessie Helms, aided by his political ally really latched on to the term 'liberal media' mostly in reponse to the coverage of the Vietnam War. And we all know how well that war turned out. Ye'up, another shining example of a 'liberal media' covering a topic such as the Vietnam War.

  • Some scientists say that 98% of human thought is subconscious. I guess they are saying that our minds have an automatic transmission, or that it is substantially "computer" controlled. That seems, in some ways, to be scary, especially since many of our beliefs are subconsciously controlled if that is true. For instance, you probably do not know that the "liberal media" meme originated with campaign advisers of Richard Nixon: After the Goldwater defeat of 1964, conservatism was a dirty word and most Americans wanted to be liberals, especially working people, who were highly unionized. Lee Atwater and colleagues, working for the 1968 Nixon campaign, had a problem: How to get a significant number of working people to become conservative enough to vote for Nixon. They decided to start a nuanced slander of the notion of "liberal" so as to cut it down to the lowly spot "conservative" had fallen to. The goal was first to put "liberal" and "conservative" on an even footing by putting down the notion of "liberal": They intuited what I have since called "biconceptualism" (see The Political Mind) -- the fact that many Americans have both conservative and progressive views, but in different contexts and on different issues. Mutual inhibition in brain circuitry means the strengthening of one weakens the other. They found a way to both strengthen conservative views and weaken liberal views, creating a conservative populism. Here's how they did it. They realized that by the late 60's many working people were disturbed by the anti-war demonstrations; so Nixon ran on anti-communism. They noticed that many working men were upset by radical feminists. So they pushed traditional family values. And they realized that, after the civil rights legislation, many working men, especially in the South, were threatened by blacks. So they ran Nixon on law and order. At the same time, they created the concept of "the liberal elite" -- the tax and spend liberals, the liberal media, the Hollywood liberals, the limousine liberals, and so on. They created language for all these ideas and have been repeating it ever since. It was pure propaganda, but it was based on a cunningly powerful understanding of real human reason. Real human reason is always composed of emotion in part. Real human reason is not fully liberal nor fully conservative. Your emotions and how your mind is framed are subjects that are studied furiously so that you can be manipulated more effectively. Who would have "thunk it" ... Nixon political operatives created the powerful false notion of the liberal media, and far too many Americans still believe that falsehood to this very day.

Like I said earlier this week, they'll drag Supernatural to ten.

    by Shermdawg

Unfortunately. I just hope they write this entire season off as a dream. Also, did anyone else get the feeling that Annie Hawkins was supposed to be the sheriff that had a thing for Bobby and they rewrote the character at the last minute? And why does ghost Bobby have beard coloring?

  • ...nothing would please me more. i told the idiot fuck up fans of Olbermann the same and look what happened....Olby got fired yet again :) fingers crossed. plus, HBO renewing his rmlfdcect. show just further proves the fact of the extreme liberal bias of the MSM. anyway, at least Cupp will be on there to set that idiot fuckwad straight. she's Mahers (and the lefts) worst nightmare...a woman who can think for herself...

They had Nevin Densham, the son of TV writer/producer Pen Densham, make his writing debut on the episode. They really really need to sign him on as at least a story editor next year, if not a show runner. Keep an eye on the guy: he's an up-and-comer if this episode is any reflection of his talents.

    fringe and supernatural

    by rakesh patel

fringe was great, I'm actually going to miss the other universe as well the total explanation of what has been going on.. well actually made sense. Supernatural, although nice to see Felicia Day this season has kinda dragged on. kudos to the writers for the subtext that sucrocorp = monsanto though. fucking evil corporation indeed

  • thats all u have u toothless sheep. *witty* jokes. thats all u do when u cant refute any (or anyones) facts i post...*witty* jokes. so, its safe to say, u post a lot of *witty* jokes on here. is AICN all u have mcgoo? man, thats sad...

  • *S.E. CUPP: Let's make the distinguish though, just real quick, between Mitt Romney the person and Mitt Romney the politician, because Mitt Romney the person has donated millions of dollars to poor people. BILL MAHER: To Mormons. CUPP: To poor people. MAHER: Not poor people. No, no, no. Wait, wait, I gotta call bullshit on that one. CUPP: Yes. MAHER: All his charitable donations are to Mormons. He gives to his cult. CUPP: So what? MAHER: So what? That’s not a charity. That’s not a charity. CUPP: So we can’t help certain poor people. MAHER: They're not poor people. CUPP: Yes, they are. MAHER: Name one poor Mormon. Alright, I’ve got to move on. PAUL BEGALA, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST AND CNN CONTRIBUTOR: The church does do a lot of good. The church does a lot of good for a lot of poor people. MAHER: That is some serious bullshit. That is some bullshit. CUPP: So we're judging charity now based on religion? MAHER: I don't really think you should judge charity. I don’t think giving to opera is charity either, or giving to Cornell which has plenty of fucking money and never needs any… CUPP (Who also went to Cornell University): Plenty of our money. ANDREW ROSS SORKIN, NEW YORK TIMES: Are you a giver? MAHER: Never. SORKIN: Never. Okay. MAHER: Why should I be? They have a giant endowment - as does President Obama.* the utter ignorance of this shit for brains amazes me weekly. but, as usual Cupp schooled him on his stupidity. AND(!) even the idiotic liberal shill Begala put him in his place! man, its pretty bad if Bagala has to correct ur idiocy. this also shows yet another hypocritical moment of Maher. gives to Obama yet condemns someone for actually giving to charity. it also shows his militant atheist stupidity (no wonder mcgoo loves this coward) that he doesnt know that Romney is supposed to give 10% to his religion. what a fucking militant atheist idiot. BTW- does the idiot Maher even know WHAT an endowment is? the pervert prob thinks its sexual, but i digress. u know HOW Cornell HAS a endowment? because people GIVE to it. what a fucking moron... and u people on here CONTINUE to defend this rmlfdcetc. piece of shit. just shows what kind of people u idiots are. sad and pathetic...

  • April 28, 2012, 12:23 p.m. CST

    was that a real exchange?

    by Eddie_Dane

That can't be real. Substitute "jew" for "mormon" and Bill's looking for a new job. Forget the Mormon thing, is it really a bad thing if the guy was successful and gave money to charity? That means he shouldn't be president? Should we vote for the failure who never gives anything to those who need help? Maybe there is something to that. In 08 i voted for a millionaire who believes that God once came down to live with us, but we murdered him and then watched him come back to life after three days. Crazy, right? Boy, has Barrack let me down.

    by Extr3m1st

Great Fringe episode and you morons are droning on about Bill Maher and politics...go fucking post on Sean Hannitys site or some shit head website like that one. " Hey Tyrion-smells did you see what Bill Maher said last night " " Sure did, Portmansshitstains that guy has his finger on the pulse of the American people " BLAH BLAH BLAH Fringe is renewed mother fuckers, please next year give the show its own talkback.

  • jay2517 - you a a funny, funny man- there is no need to refute your facts- repeating them is enough for anyone to see you are a funny, funny man- thanks for the yuks! Keep em comin'!

    Conservatives are really Nilists.

    by cookylamoo

They're crazy to see how bad things can get when the rich and the religious demagogues are given total power. They won't even mind when they end up among the have nots because they won't have to think anymore. They would be perfectly happy living among the barbarians of thundrdome.

He likes her fuck-everybody policy just not her atheism. - Paul Begala

    by Mr. Nice Gaius

Wow. Who knew that little twerp, Begala, had it in him? Not only does he pwn that lightweight trophy-conservative S.E. Cupp, but he simultaneously nailed the essence of Ayn Rand's philosophy while fully exposing the now all too apparent hypocrisy of Paul Ryan. Granted, it's low hanging fruit but at least that squirrel found a nut.

  • fuck this

  • She's also has no problem showing a little leg for the misogynist right on Red Eye or some other half-backed political show bullshit. Like most female personalities on Fox News (ever since the days of Laurie Dhue!), you'll often find her positioned and seated in such a way as to accentuate her "goods". Kind of ironic in a very particular way.

  • April 28, 2012, 3:55 p.m. CST

    Big Jim

    by Mr. Nice Gaius

    You said it, friendo.

  • to see if there's some futher insight into last night's episodes and what do the talkbacks have? Out of place political crap! This is what's wrong with these talkbacks anyone can take over and ruin them. Find a political forum assholes. I go to one all the time and don't bring my arguments here. There's enough to say about these shows without having to bring the sad reality of the current state of our political system into it. By the way Grimm is showing real promise now and has been renewed for a 2nd season. I hope Fringe can squeez out one more season to properly finish telling it's story. I wonder if this really is the last we'll see of the other universe and the rest of the story lies with this one?

  • April 28, 2012, 4:19 p.m. CST

Hey now! I just read Fringe has been renewed for that 5th Season!

    by Real Deal

    Now that's good news!

    by JaredP

keep being an intolerant asshole. republicans and conservatives are NOT going to give in on anything. everything is for the rich, the rich, the rich. if they would take away the oil subsidies and close tax loopholes their would be enough money to go around

  • April 28, 2012, 6:44 p.m. CST

    Cut the political talk

    by Byron

Hey guys, this is where we come to relax and talk about shows not to discuss politics and religion. If you want that go seek out the comments section on or, the rest of us would like to be able to talk about stuff without having to scroll through a dozen or so political speeches. Also Fantastic bloody episode of Fringe, and here I thought they'd try merging the two universes together as hinted at in last week's episode

  • ...its shows what and who they truly are. pathetic sycophants and lock step sheep.

  • ...cowardly and totally DEFLECTING the subject. ur a total fraud.

  • ur now added to the ever expanding Ball of Dense. u ARE this stupid, apparently. care to actually address the FACTS of my post?

  • how is my facts about Maher constitute being *intolerant* hmmm? and WHY cant u AICN progressive cowards NOT keep on subject?? what the fuck does ur post have to do with Maher being a piece of shit??

  • April 28, 2012, 7:39 p.m. CST

again, WHY must u idiots DEFLECT when it come to Maher???

    by jay2517

it would seem to be SOOO easy to defend ur coward hero......yet u sycophants do not....hmmmmmmmm, wonder why?

  • a VAST majority of America does too. fuck all religion? no, FUCK YOU bigot. *the poor don't need their help either, correct?* WTF are u ON man??

  • April 28, 2012, 7:43 p.m. CST

BTW- keep DEFLECTING from Mahers bigotry and stupidity...

    by jay2517

    that all ur good for.

Fringe comment: see below instead of politics

    by GlyphGuy

If Jones is a good guy, why the hell hasn't he joined forces with the Fringe teams?!? I really can't think of an excuse not to. Unless of course he knows the only way to stop the Observers is to close the bridge, then he succeeded. Because they probably would never hear him out on that, but who knows. Did I see something in the preview that made it seem like Jones might actually be William Bell? Or maybe Jones is actually an Observer? Was Jones originally in on the Cortexifan trials with Walter and Belly?

  • April 28, 2012, 9:22 p.m. CST

    by JaredP

"how is my facts about maher constitute being *intolerant* hmmm?" i think you need to go back to grammer school, jay. and how does telling the truth mean maher is a piece of shit?

  • April 28, 2012, 9:50 p.m. CST

    Why isn't anyone watching Nikita?

    by Nasty In The Pasty

I actually like it BETTER than 24 at this point, which, even in its best seasons, was chock full of random idiocy just to keep the "real time" gimmick viable. Excellent action, compelling writing and superior action, plus Maggie Q *and* Lyndsey Fonseca. It'd be a shame if it didn't make it to a third season (picked up the season on Blu-Ray at best Buy for a cool $13.99 last week).

  • 1. I am a partisan coward, and I get all my talking points from Newsbusters, including my opinions, but my hatred is all my own. 2. Notice how all the AICN progressives IGNORE it (a conversation about Romney's contributions to the Mormon Church being bullshit)...its shows what and who they truly are. pathetic sycophants and lock step sheep. 3.warning tracl power (this was directed at me, still trying to figure out what warning tracl power means???)- thats exactly the response i thought ud give......cowardly and totally DEFLECTING the subject. ur a total fraud. 4 MNG......SO? how the hell does that the exchange any less factual?? ur now added to the ever expanding Ball of Dense. u ARE this stupid, apparently. care to actually address the FACTS of my post? 5. how is my facts about Maher constitute being *intolerant* hmmm? and WHY cant u AICN progressive cowards NOT keep on subject?? what the fuck does ur post have to do with Maher being a piece of shit?? 6. again, WHY must u idiots DEFLECT when it come to Maher??? it would seem to be SOOO easy to defend ur coward hero......yet u sycophants do not....hmmmmmmmm, wonder why? 7. fuck all religion? no, FUCK YOU bigot. *the poor don't need their help either, correct?* WTF are u ON man?? 8. keep DEFLECTING from Mahers bigotry and stupidity...that all ur good for. I was a lost sheep until I read your little pearls of wisdom - now I am going to change parties and think just like you- minus the anger and obsession for Maher , WE know your thoughts are not your own, and everything else you say is boring insults and repititious, obsessive nonsense BUT THANKS FOR SHARING nonetheless.... you are always very entertaining, in a needle in the eyeball kind of way.

  • April 29, 2012, 9:23 a.m. CST

jay2517 - we NEED more of your FACTS ---- please????

    by Michael Lunney

Thank you - you are the man....

  • geez fucking louise ur stupid. and Maher never tells the truth. just distorts facts and lies. he does it every week. example- Mormonism is not a cult. why are people like u so easily manipulated?

  • April 29, 2012, 1:42 p.m. CST

warning track has continues to deflect away from his *hero*..

    by jay2517

funny that all u do is retype my facts yet offer nothing to refute my facts. this is why u are a coward. u run away and when confronted with facts that destroy ur progressive ideals and try to make *jokes*. everyone sees right through this and u do it quite often. maybe its ur comprehension skills? case in point i told u exactly what *waring track power* was yet u cant understand it. ill say it again for u, little man- u have said that conservatives only offer softball opinions/posts. and i stated u (and the other *enlightened* ones here) only have warning track power. if u stiil cant understand that, then maybe ill start taking it easy on u. now, i await ur deflection of this...

  • funny u cant defend him....funny, funny...

  • April 29, 2012, 5:28 p.m. CST

how is bill maher a bigot?

    by JaredP

has he ever once used racial slurs? no, he hasn't

  • April 29, 2012, 5:31 p.m. CST

    by jtp8000

Have Fringe have its own thread so I don't have to sort through these Maher idiots. There's only two episodes left this season so I would prefer to have a thread that is full of Fringe haters than the Maher-anti-Maher people

  • April 29, 2012, 7:27 p.m. CST

jaredp - how dare you deflect by asking a direct question?

    by Michael Lunney

perhaps he means something else other than race, such as religion....but no one really cares except him. But, what fun!!! I know it shouldn't be fun to tease a baby, but...

  • April 29, 2012, 8:52 p.m. CST

    i know mcgootoo, i know

    by JaredP

it's fun when to see jay's comments about his unfounded accusations against bill maher, almost as funny as his spelling. far be it for me to try to convince him that religion is the real bigot here. the mormon church pushed prop. 8 in california. did jay ever stop to think that maybe someone's religion makes THEM bigots? every religion is against gays and lesbians. but yet it's somebody like bill maher who gets singled out as a bigot. maher thinks all religion is bullshit, but he never said he hates the people that practice it

  • *how is bill maher a bigot?*--- he hates any and ALL religion. he ridicules them. its not exclusively based on race. how CAN u be this stupid?? my god....

  • April 30, 2012, 12:05 a.m. CST

and as i expected from warning track power mcgoo...

    by jay2517

    ...nothing. absolutely nothing.

  • April 30, 2012, 12:12 a.m. CST

    jaredp's ignorance part 2.....

    by jay2517

*did jay ever stop to think that maybe someone's religion makes THEM bigots?* dont join that religion. no one forces u too. gays and lesbians FORCE their type of living onto the religious institutions, not the other way around. no one is asking them to adhere to anything they dont want, yet they INSIST religious institutions DO. big difference, of course that goes over ur predisposed, bigoted progressive heads. its really sad, how bad did ur lives have to be to get the way u people are??

  • April 30, 2012, 12:32 a.m. CST

    by JaredP

oh jay, you poor misguided, diluded little muppet. "gays and lesbians FORCE their type of living onto the religious institutions, not the other way around"? SAY WHAT, MOTHER FUCKER? are you doing crystal, right now, or what? you are totally fucking backwards. if i give you a dollar, will you promise to buy a fucking clue, you douchebag cocksucking mother fucker?

  • great weekend of merriment again, courtesy of Jay, the meanest know nothing conservative of them all- we just don't get it- so we make him mean and hateful - funny how that works

  • April 30, 2012, 11:57 a.m. CST

jaredp- yep, figured u couldnt comprehend that.

    by jay2517

most hypocritical progressives like u cant. try reading my WHOLE post, not just one snippet. cheery pick all u want, my point is still correct. thanks for trying though, mother fucker :)

  • ...i expect nothing more. u REALLY need to get out and enjoy life man! its sad that AICN is all u have. really sad...

  • April 30, 2012, 12:06 p.m. CST

    by JaredP

you claim maher is a bigot, but you don't have anything to back up your claims. so, i'll ask again, HOW IS BILL MAHER A BIGOT?

  • April 30, 2012, 12:24 p.m. CST

I love it when religious people call others bigots.

    by cookylamoo

Like their only the most groundlessly judgmental people on earth.

  • jay2517 - I am physically disabled with degenerative osteoporosis, you shit- so fuck you - I enjoy talking to others here, not just use it as a forum to vent my anger - so really, eat shit and die mofo

  • April 30, 2012, 3:45 p.m. CST

    by JaredP

sorry to hear about your disability. i, too am disabled, so i know how you feel. i'm on social security, and i'm sure you are too. if jay's republican friends have their way we can say goodbye to that and medicare, medicaid, etc. all so they can give the super rich more tax cuts. i know talking jay is useless, but i hate it when douches like him spout their incensitive bullshit

  • April 30, 2012, 5:01 p.m. CST

    thanks, mcgoo

  • one more time. he hates any and all religion. he openly mocks and ridicules them and the people that follow them. thats just one example. WHY do u ignore this?? big·ot    [big-uht] Show IPA noun a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. do u understand now??

  • hopefully uve kept up a good diet and its not real bad. *not just use it as a forum to vent my anger *--- HAHAHAHAHA really? i couldnt tell. u are so full of shit lol. BTW- *so really, eat shit and die mofo* no, fuck u and u first Mr. Glass...
