This segment of PBS’ “Tavis Smiley Show" contains a new “Avengers” clip depicting the first meeting between Steve “Captain America” Rogers and SHIELD agent Phillip Coulson (who of course met Tony Stark and Thor on screen long ago).
The clip is short – but consider sticking around for the interview with Clark Gregg, an actor I find enormously likeable whether he’s acting or not. He's been a Marvel fan since the 1970s and I found of particular interest the fact that he seemed to be the last to know that he would have big roles in “Thor” and “The Avengers.”
I just discovered Gregg was in Bryan Singer’s “The Usual Suspects” and played an FBI agent in eight early episodes of Aaron Sorkin’s “The West Wing.” He’s also doing Coulson’s voice on the “Ultimate Spider-Man” TV series.
