Houston! Get A Jumpstart On The Summer of 1982 Festivities With THE SECRET OF NIMH At The Alamo Kids Club This Saturday!

Nordling here.

It's been years since I've seen THE SECRET OF NIMH, Don Bluth's animated classic.  In fact, it may be since I was a kid.  Not that it's not great, it totally is; I just haven't revisited it in a long time.  That's going to be rectified this weekend at the Houston Alamo Drafthouse in Mason Park as we screen THE SECRET OF NIMH for the Alamo Kids Club!

This was Don Bluth's breakaway film from Disney, and it's a charming but harrowing movie about a mother deseprate to save her ailing son; so desperate that she enlists super-intelligent rats to aid her.  Fans will recognize Wil Wheaton as Martin, in one of his first performances, and we get the great Derek Jacobi as Nicodemus.  Of course, this is part of the Summer of 1982 taking place this May through August at the Alamo Drafthouse - you could wait and see it later this summer in Austin, or you can see it this weekend here in Houston!

As always, the Houston Alamo Kids Club is sponsored by Ain't It Cool News and 8th Dimension Comics and Games.  And as always, it's free.  See you there at noon this Saturday!

Nordling, out.  Follow me on Twitter!
