‘Is He A Ham??’
Herc Loves Tonight’s GAME OF THRONES, The Most Important Since Dany Hatched Her Dragons!! Discuss Also Tonight’s MAD MEN, AMAZING, ONCE UPON, GIRLS, VEEP, 60 MINUTES, The FROZEN Finale, A Quarter Century of Fox & More!!

On last week’s “Game of Thrones”:

* Fat Sam gifted a Craster daughter.

* Bran was assured his dreams do not predict the future.

* Queen Margaery got naked and offered to climb into bed with her brother for the good of the crown. Because there’s not enough incest on this show.

* We got our first look at Brienne the Beauty.

* Theon Greyjoy was assigned to conquer fishermen, then burned a letter to Robb Stark before he was blessed with salt, stone and steel.

* Tyrion assigned Sansa Stark a new handmaiden and promised to make Baelish “one of the greatest lords in the realm.” He later ordered a traitor’s manhood fed to goats.

* Arya heard the tale of a handsome killer named Willem, then told a lie to the City Watch.

HBO says of tonight’s Snow-free “Garden of Bones”:

Joffrey punishes Sansa for Robb’s victories, while Tyrion and Bronn scramble to temper the king’s cruelty. Catelyn entreats Stannis and Renly to forego their ambitions and unite against the Lannisters. Dany and her exhausted khalasar arrive at the gates of Qarth, a prosperous city with strong walls and rulers who greet her outside them. Tyrion coerces a queen’s man into being his eyes and ears. Arya and Gendry are taken to Harrenhal, where their lives rest in the hands of “The Mountain,” Gregor Clegane. Davos must revert to his old ways and smuggle Melisandre into a secret cove. Written by Vanessa Taylor; directed by David Petrarca.

More in the text invisible.

* This is I think the most important episode since Dany hatched her dragons in the first season finale.

* A character we’ve not seen since season one, one of my favorites, makes a welcome return.

* After skipping an episode, Robb arrives in dramatic fashion this week. A new character, one I assume will prove crucial to Robb’s storyline, is introduced.

* Dany, after skipping last week’s installment, gets a whopping TWO scenes this week, a season-two record. The latter scene is Dany’s best this season. Her scenes also give the episode its title.

* Joffrey returns after a two-episode absence and does little to endear himself.

* Jamie Lannister continues his long absence this week.

* The episode kicks off with a solid joke about Renly Baratheon.

* Baelish has a great line about prioritization this week.

* Another great line: “Is he a ham?”

* Tyrion again proves himself an accomplished manipulator.

* This episode boasts an eyebrow-raising conclusion.

Last week’s excellent Betty-free episode, set the August of 1966, was a tough one for Pete Campbell. He got thrashed by a middle-aged Englishman, lost a classmate to the Draper-esque Handsome Hanson, learned Ken Cosgrove was still finding success as a writer of fiction, and had to pay a whore to call him king. Meanwhile Don remembered the Texas Tower shooter was named Charles Whitman, not Whitmore -- after getting shanghaied back to the suburbs by Pete’s wife -- and ultimately remained faithful to his handyman-adoring new wife.

AMC says of tonight’s “Far Away Places”:

Peggy is rattled by a particularly difficult pitch. Don visits a potential client.

Returning tonight:

The Real Housewives of New Jersey (10pm Bravo)

Premiering tonight:

Veep (10pm HBO), a new sitcom from Scotland-reared Armando Iannucci (“In The Loop,” “Mid Morning Matters with Alan Partridge”), follows an unhappy VPOTUS. “Seinfeld” icon Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“The New Adventures of Old Christine”) stars with “Arrested Development” icon Tony Hale (“Andy Barker”), “Hung” doctor Matt Walsh and “Big C” doctor Reid Scott.  Anna Chlumsky, who kissed a Culkin in "My GIrl," is now 31 and hot as lava.

CBS' "NYC 22" is not doing nearly as well as "CSI Maimi" was:
