Who’s Excited About
AMC Developing Another Show Based On Another Comic From The Guy Who Writes The WALKING DEAD Comics??

I am – Hercules.

AMC is developing a new series based on “Thief of Thieves,” a comic written by Robert Kirkman, who co-created the “Walking Dead” comic.

“Thieves” is not about zombies.

It follows instead a veteran thief who decides to prey only on other thieves. I’ve not read “Thieves” (or the “Walking Dead” comics, for that matter), so I will leave it to the talkback to opine whether "Thieves" could be the the next "Breaking Bad" or "Mad Men" or  the next ""Hell on Wheels" or "Rubicon."

Kirkman has been very good to AMC, always careful to convey how awesome the “Walking Dead” show is since writer-director Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption,” “The Green Mile,” “The Mist”) was fired from the series last summer.

Darabont, who launched Kirkman’s TV career by developing “Dead” into a series blockbuster, will not be involved with the “Thieves” adaptation.  Darabont is busy developing "L.A. Noir," a potential TNT series starring Jon Bernthal about cops and mobsters in 1940s Los Angeles.
