Check Out The Spanish Teaser Poster For DJANGO UNCHAINED!
Beaks here...
JoBlo.com has scored our first look at the official Spanish teaser poster for DJANGO UNCHAINED. Check it out!

I don't know if this artwork will be used for the U.S. poster as well, but I can confirm that this design has been seen around the set of DJANGO UNCHAINED in New Orleans. That'd definitely look nice on my wall. Simple and Saul Bass-y. What do you guys think?
DJANGO UNCHAINED hits theaters December 25th, 2012.

'nuff said.

I like the design. Here's hoping it's a great film. And teaser posters have been around forever, beangrud. I can remember seeing Ghostbuster teaser posters all over the subway walls in the spring of '84. Nothing new here.
-
Sorry Prometheus and Avengers. But all will be midnight viewings.
-
This marketing practice has been going on for DECADES. Are you are aware of the evolution of movie posters one iota? Or are you another whinging net-git come to flood over the easyand therefore lazy target that is this talkback?? Imbecile. Or ignorant. One or t'other will do. Atone, feeble one.
-
For true Saul Bass style, it doesn't need the two little dudes at the bottom, in my opinion. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7788768/djangounchainedteaser.jpg
-
Sure looks it. Sweet poster.
-
We get it, if you spend five minutes on a simple silhouette design it automatically gets the "Saul Bass-y" praise. Used to float my boat, but it's been driven into the ground. Something being Saul Bassesque doesn't automatically make it good. This isn't even visually very clever.
-
The chain links look like cutouts, the characters look sort of hand-drawn, sort of photo based, and the grass looks like a straight up photo. Sorry guys, this sucks.
-
It's a modern movie poster that is influenced by Bass, not a mediocre imitation. Y'know, influence; to take inspiration from a source and let your own mind run with itin whatever direction it may take. Enough with the joyless cynicism and open your bloody eyes.
-
People tack on "Oh very Saul Bass" as if that automatically makes it quality. None of the elements are even in the same style. The visual pun of the two people looking like links in a chain (kind of, but not really) is pretty flimsy. It's certainly not up to par with Olly Moss's clever work. Sorry, but it's weak all around. Look past the "Saul Bassiness" and it's a crappy poster.

So many buddies are coming now. Buddies on top of buddies. Multiple buddies. wowowowowowowowowowowowowowow

mark my words.

nicely done

I hope QT doens't bite off more than he can chew w/ this one. It's one thing to make a nazi revenge film. Quite another to do a slave one. I've read the script and it's great but..
by GQTaste26
... I just can't see how it won't ruffle some feathers all around. I think it was smart of Costner to get the hell out of dodge on this one. Like i said, it's fantastic read, but I can see where it's a better read than actually making it to the screen. The treatment some of those black folk go through is just so awful it might be the wrong time for this thing to come out.

well, read this text anyway TRAILER TRAILER TRAILER Please

I realize that antonio and maybe I"ll be wrong. Maybe they'll tone it down but what I read was fucking ruthless. Not for the weak of heart or sensitive.
by GQTaste26
Just take what his girl goes through. That's enough to set a lot of people off right there. Of course they get whats coming to them in the end but it's heinous stuff the audience will go through. Saying that, I can't help but remember how funny it was just the same. I can't see Kurt Russell or DiCaprio saying some of those lines he wrote. Sam has a great part though. So does the German. I would have liked to seen Anthony Mackie, Idris Elba or Chiwetel Ejiofor get the Fox role.

killik, I don't have it any longer. i would like to read it again now that I'm thinking about it.

...but the poster would be better if either the chain or the figures were gone. Actually, closer to Bass with the figures gone but I think just the figures with all the seventies sunset red above them would be fantastic. Still a good poster.

just, a new film by Quentin Tarintino!

It doesn't matter that it's going up against Hobbit because...
by lutz
Django Unchained will have cost Tarantino probably 20% of the budget of The Hobbit to make. That's why Tarantino is always a success - he makes lower budget movies with skill. They make their money back because they don't cost an arm and a leg to begin with. You can see Tarantino's real skill as a director when he can make *both* Kill Bill installments for half the price someone like Fincher made Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Tarantino relies on a script and actors first and knows how to pull in a quality movie at a lower price.

I demand this Filth be removed in an Instant.

awesome
-
yes . it has begun!
-
Nice.
-
Sounds like a very ambitious project for Tarantino. It could be his best since Jackie Brown. But like Jackie Brown, the film will probably leave many divided.
-
With those little midgets and a wizard walking through the forest. Its so stupid.
-
what the Criterion Collection cover would be for the movie's DVD/Blu-Ray... I'm liking it.

Maybe this will help get a Harriet Tubman movie made.

Dont know about you, but I remember teaser posters going as far back as "Independence Day" from 1996.
-
And love the fact that DICAPRIO will be playing the superbad villain spouting TARANTINO dialogue. Only weak point is FOXX.
-
A mí me pasa al revés que a ti.
-
QT's movies have some of the best dialogue in modern films (IMHO) but he cant stay away from grotesque sadism. Not violence - or rather, not simply violence -- but ugly, twisted, malevolent sadism. To each his or her own, but not for me. Count me out.

The HOBBIT is going to suck because it's made by the slightly talented Peter Jackson. The real talent hitting theaters that week will be Tarantino.

Don't know this is gospel, but Reggie Hudlin claims that Foxx is giving the performance of a lifetime. Not sure I've seen Tarantino pull a bad performance out of an actor yet, so fingers crossed.
-
Yeah he's done some utter crap like Stealth, but he showed he can act in Any Given Sunday, Ali, Collateral, and .............his Oscar winning performance in Ray. I feel a lot better about Foxx than if it would've been Will Smith.
-
Will Smith would have ruined this movie! QT what were you even thinking son? It would be like giving brad Pitts part in basterds to Jason Bateman! Tomfoolery!
-
via twitter. he also tossed out a quick sketch of what he'd have done. http://yfrog.com/oba4gtp the guy's a legend.
-
Yes, the Nazi thing happened a lot more recently than the slavery thing...but race is one super-hot button issue. The German people have done an incredible mea culpa regarding Nazism. Everybody pretty much knows the good and bad of the situation. Regarding race...some people feel that it has not been addressed enough. A spaghetti western from QT though is all it takes to get me in the seat. The opening scenes of Inglorious Bastards were pure Leone.
-
...meh. Don't get me wrong--I can't wait for this movie, and I hate floating-head movie posters, but this just isn't all that inventive or evocative.
