Here's Four Pics From SKYFALL!
Nordling here.
I often forget all about SKYFALL coming this fall, but Daniel Craig reporting for duty again as James Bond still sounds great to me. I think he's fantastic in the part and I think they're pulling out all the stops with this new one, judging by the cast, which includes Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, and returning Judi Dench as M. Here's four new shots from the film, and they look appropriately badass (click to embiggen):
SKYFALL opens this November.

I'm down.

Anyone who thinks Danial Craig isn't sexy can just look at the hotness factor: Google his wife as opposed to the wives of any other actor who ever played Bond. Women respond to power more than "prettiness". Craig is on one end of a spectrum, Brosnan another, Conner in the middle. He's as legitimate as anyone else who has ever played the role, and more than most.
-
When will James Bond Jr make an apperance in these films?
-
I was worried about the use of digital photography. But this looks fairly lush, especially the third picture. I guess that is the last time I second guess Roger Deakins.

Just ask Clarkson. It is slow, as well. Didn't even develop 200hp. Craptastic.

hot.
-
Those do look good. Not much to go on, but there's a nice tone being struck. Especially the window surveillance (?) one.
-
But sex symbol he aint.no fucking way.
-
With THE HUNGER GAMES and The AVENGERS and the SPIDER MANS and THE BATMANS and The TWILIGHTS and THE HOBBITS of the world hogging up all the attention, it's almost as though everyone has forgotten about our main man, 007. I'm looking forward to Skyfall kicking us in the nuts hard.
-
I don't mean Moonraker goofyness, or Die Another Day absurdity, but if the filmmakers could just have a bit more fun with Mr.Bond, I'd greatly appreciate it. And a bit more charm for our hero too. Craig is a great actor, and I like him as Bond, but a bit more charm and a little less brute would be to my taste. Oh, and coherent action scenes (I'm looking at you, Quantum of Solace). That too. Then, I think, everything should be great in the universe of Bond.
-
characters traits: looking good with his cool car, getting ready to fuck his next woman, action and villains.
-
I've never been much of a fan of the charismatic black hole that is Daniel Craig, but i'll give him this much: he DOES make Bond seem dangerous, which really isnt something I've seen since Connery in From Russia With Love. BUT he also makes Bond seem like an uncultured ape that has possesses NONE of the qualities/distinctiveness that made Bond, well, Bond. I loved Casino Royale despite its hidiously weak villain and third/fourth act, was bored by the second film (except for the very kickass opera scene evil orginazation reveal), and am pretty ambivelant towards this one. It does have Javier Bardem in it, though...so it is kinda interesting in that reguard.
-
I second your comment on them lightening Craig's Bond up a little bit, but I also think that it fits in as a nice story point considering he's the "new guy" at this. It would be wonderful if, by SKYFALL, he's not the hard, green rookie, but rather the sage superspy we all know and love, and having a good time while he's at it.

Obviously Roger Deakins can probably make just about any camera pump out nice looking images, but the Alexa has some nice cinematic power to it. Game of Thrones is also shot partially on the Arri Alexa. To me, that show also has a very nice filmic look and feel. The Alexa shots seem to blend nicely with the 35mm film shots. I can't tell the difference anyway.
-
The guy was born to play a bond baddie. Can't wait for this.
-
I think this particular Bond film has a chance of being one of the best bond films--ever. If there is anyone that seems as menacing as Craig's Bond, it would be Bardem's character in No Country For Old Men. I hope he brings SOMETHING of that to this role. Should be very interesting, in my opinion.
-
They've sucked all that was fun, suave and sexy from this current "Bond" series. I like Craig, he's a fine actor, but his JB is as dull as dishwater.

Didn't the Specterish group ALREADY make its reveal in the last one?
by moondoggy2u
Sure, it was called Quantum, but its still Spectre. At the risk of being a total heretic....I kinda prefer the name Quantum to Spectre. Just sounds, I dunno, more dignified. On the other hand, it does sound like a Honda Model...
-
We're not debating Craig's manhood, douche-mouth. We're simply questioning his ability to bring the OTHER aspects of Bond's character to the screen: charisma, intelligence and savoir faire. But by all means, keep acting like the childish cunt that the new films seem to cater to. It REALLY helps your argument.
-
You obviously have never talked to any straight women or gay men about Daniel Craig. Sure, he's a butter face, but he has the best body of any Bond -- hands down. That doesn't mean a smidge to me and you, but I assure you that it appeals to a large group of other folks. I think he's an inspired choice for Bond. Damned good actor too.
-
He's the best actor of the bunch. Although I STILL say Brosnan had it in him to be just as dangerous. I only wish he hadnt gotten short changed on the 007 scripts.

Arguments about Danny Craig's sex appeal on one board,

pearl-clutching over female nudity in Game of Thrones on another. Is this progress for AICN, or has trollery ascended to a new level?
-
Long time, no see.
-
Are people SERIOUSLY complaining about the nudity in GoT? Hell, my fiance thought the nudity was MOST excellent. What can I say? I'm lucky that way.
-
... one man's butter face is another man's rough-hewn granite visage. Uh, I mean, uh .....
-
Yeah, you should check out the Game of Thrones TBs every Sunday. On second thought, don't. Spare yourself.

Rough hewn granite image would be liam neeson or Charleton Heston. This guy is a Gollum wood carving.

For those who say Craig does not look the part or is too ugly...
by WeylandYutani
Remember that Fleming originally envisioned David Niven in the part before Connery was cast. IMO, while a fine actor and gentleman, Niven was not much of a looker either. Also, I think many women would disagree that Craig is not good looking. Perhaps they would agree that he is not classically good looking, but many women I have spoken to, who thought very little of the Bond franchise and thought they were fantasy fulfillment for man-children (which they certainly are in large part), changed their tune when Craig stood up out of the water in CR in his swim trunks. I recall hearing audible "Oh My!" exclamations from many females in the audience. I also recall watching the film with a few friends on DVD where two women in attendance got all giddy and giggly in anticipation of that scene. Craig plays Bond as a bad boy purposefully to attract a higher female demo since they rebooted the series. Males like the gun play, stunts, exotic locations & T&A. Females like the gun play, stunts, exotic locations and a buff/badboy Bond. And it shows at the box office. The franchise has usually done well in each outing over the years, but I bet there is a far broader viewing audience since Craig took over the series.
-
You haven't seen ugly-looking fucks until you've seen Matt Smith or Benzedrine Cummerbund.
-
BOOK bond and MOVIE bond are two different things, really. As far as his sex appeal goes, ehh, he's clearly got the bad boy thing going and there are plenty of chicks who dig that. But it STILL doesnt take away from the fact that he is fugly. Not that there isnt really a precedent for it. Connery was largely viewed the same way back in the 60s: ugly guy, great bod. Its only when Connery got older did he become the sex symbol for millions of american women! My only real complaint of the guy is that, as as been noted countless times before, Craig's bond is pretty damned dull and fairly unsophistocated. I'm not sure if thats a writer/director's issue or if its an acting issue, but it is a fairly legitimate complaint. In my opinion, he still kicks all kinds of ass in the role when it comes to action scenes...its the dialogue where 00Mumbles falls apart.
-
Complaining about bond not being pretty is... missing the point of 007
-
Doesn't know what women are physically attracted to..*hint their bodies* Pretty faces and small bodies = Pre-teens and teenagers. And pedophiles. Rugged face and small bodies = Weird freaky chicks at Comic Con Rugged face and good bodies = Any fucking woman Pretty face and good body = Let me use my panties to wash your teeth when you brush

I'm not worried about Craig's rugged-looking face
by WINONA_RYDERS_PUSSY_JUICE
Craig is a fine bond. I'm not worried about digital photography. Digital photography can look great, just look at Collateral. I'm not worried about Quantum of Sollace having shaky cam action scenes. There's a new director. Which brings me to my chief concern, Sam Mendes! Sure, he directed Road to Perdition, but his resume is quite short. American Beauty? Jarhead? REVOLUTIONARY ROAD?!! Away We Go?????? This guy is a risky choice.
-
Great personality.....nothing else matters. But I do mean great...
-
Craig only looks hideously ugly when he's in the expensive suit. When he was running around pointing his fist at aliens in Cowboys & Aliens, he didnt seem so bad. Maybe its the suit's fault??
-
I thought Ralph Fiennes was the replacement M after dench has an early exit.

I love it. I label the guy as ugly (which is COMPLETELY correct)
by moondoggy2u
Yet I get a slew of people on here telling me how i dont understand what women are attracted to or that he's actually rugged and women dig that or get called a fag...blah...blah...BLAH. I think we got more than a few posters on here who are a bit overly sensitive when somebody is called ugly. If it helps to stroke your little egos, here's a bone to throw you: I never said he wasnt sexy or that he wasnt an uber cocksman or whatever fries your bacon. I simply said he was an ugly fuck. And as someone above me astutely pointed out, him being ugly doesnt really matter that much to womens' tastes. Hell, guys, Mick Jagger is one oft he ugliest skeletor looking guys around and just look at his stable of exes! Clearly there are other factors beyond facial "looks." But listen to me very carefully. Daniel Craig Is Still One Ugly Mother Fucker.
-

And if you have a personal problem with that statement.
by moondoggy2u
Grow a pair and/or re-evaluate your sexual orientation.
-
My only cautionary with claiming this movie amazing yet is that QoS looked fucking incredible in stills and trailers. It seemed like an intense and direct follow up to what is arguably the best bond film of all (at least the best modern bond film) and it ended up being worse than The World is Not Enough. It split the difference on Craig too! He went from being one of the best bonds to simply an average bond. Let's hope Skyfall can raise his mean again.
-
that's why I never bought Roger Moore in the role. Bond is a field agent whose battle scars show just as much in his eyes as on his cheekbones, and Craig understands this. Bond is a talented thug, not a super-hero.
-
Your totally right bro, Bond should be wearing a hemp poncho, floppy hat and flip flops, then he'd finally be able to stop all the super villains at bonaroo who are like... total buzzkills man.

While Craig IS Bond and this looks great, it could struggle.....
by performingmonkey
This could be the first Bond in ages that doesn't make a shitload of sweet cash. The only thing that grates with me is Fiennes' involvement. He seems way too obvious to be part of the Bond series. If they can top the likes of Casino Royale, Goldeneye, OHMSS and The Living Daylights then I'll be wearing a shocked smile...

Just thought of him as tough or threatening. To me his face is average. Hugh Jackman or Pierce Brosnan fall, for me, under the handsome category. Craig...average dude in the looks department but hell of an air of menace. It's the pale eyes. Natalieportmansyummyafterbirth, I must respectfully disagree with your saying that the rest of the Bonds can go suck a cock. Timothy Dalton was a fine Bond in my opinion. He's actually my favorite (sorry Mr. Connery).

This whole argument about "Is he ugly or isn't he?" is pointless. Who gives a fuck? I mean, for the record, I would agree with those who think he's ugly, but that doesn't matter (and for the record, I'm no looker myself, but that doesn't make me any less objective, and Paul Newman he ain't). And anyway, as someone else pointed out, women don't care whether he's ugly or not, 'cause sexy trumps handsome every time, and women think he's sexy. I can't believe I've spent this much time investing in an argument I started off by saying was pointless. Sheesh. As for the pictures, they look pretty promising. And I, for one, was never sold on QoS. I always thought it looked OTT and hokey on the action scenes, even from early clips. And when I found out who was directing it, that explained everything. Nothing in Forster's filmography suggested that he could make a Bond film. Hell, at that point, he hadn't even done an action movie (unless you want to count Monsters Ball, which is a stretch and still doesn't have a remotely Bond-like tone). And, in my opinion, he still hasn't done a good one. I have zero hopes for World War Z. As for Mendes, everything about his filmography screams Bond (except maybe American Beauty, but hey, it had great dark humor, which might be just what the current Bond franchise needs). I am looking forward to this movie as much as the Avengers, Brave, DKR (okay, maybe not DKR), and pretty much any other summer movie you can name. Whether Daniel Craig is ugly or not.
-
after Dench gets whacked in this one. Take that to the bank.
-
...because of her fading eyesight? I hear she has to have people read her scripts because she has lost her central vision. In an interview she told the reporter that she could not see his/her face. That's damn sad.
-
I shoot a lot, so I'll pipe up. Most modern munitions actually burn very clean and don't "flash" much when fired. The point is not to be seen, nor to blast out big clouds of smoke. Many military weapons have flash suppressors to help as well. I'm sure the arms master in charge of the set weapons likely used a powder mix designed to be nice and flashy, especially when filmed in the dark. Just looks cool for film.
-
For me, he is the perfect bond. I liked the previous Bonds far less because I never felt they were up to the physical challenges. As much as Brosnan is a pussy marauder, I prefer Craig's take as somewhat somber and violent. I want Bond to get shit done, not just quest after the next lay. More interesting to me when a secret agent moves through a dark world, which he reflects with his own brooding nature.

No love for Dalton? He was rugged, handsome and talented
-
Fiennes is someone who could have been James Bond himself. He's still in the age range that Bond has been played. it would be a change to have an M who looks like he could possibly do Bond's job for him. I suppose it makes a kind of sense, that M might for once be someone who was directly promoted from the Double-O ranks instead of a bureaucrat. It seems like there would be very competitive and aggressive chemistry though. I wish Judi Dench the best. I don't doubt she has the skill to act as though her characters can see but she has to decide what she wants to do. A possibility is that Dench's M character could be blinded in the film and Fiennes could be a temporary replacement while she recovers and then Dench's M would return and be blind in the story.

Let's be honest, he is pretty ugly. You could pick radio stations on those ears. Boring too. Always mumbling and walking around looking gormless and miserable with that one facial expression. It's laughable that he's supposed to be the macho tough Bond with those little arms and legs and diminutive stature. What is he? 5'9 or something? He must be one of the few actors too who is less life like than his waxwork dummy. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of this charmless oaf and cast someone who looks like James Bond next time.

by Turd Furgeson
I don't know why but they do.. Strong, powerful, commanding, agressive, badass, his bond totally works.

So, you'd type "here're" and not "here's"
-
Are you seriously saying you don't like Daniel Craig as Bond because he isn't "Hot" enough for you? You fucking Talkbackers will reach for anything to bitch about. Btw, you do remember the scene where he comes out of the ocean in Casino Royale right? The scene that had every woman in the theater gush their fucking panties right off? You guys complaining that he isn't hot enough need to stick with Orlando Bloom movies...
-
... so it will be nice to see him in something mainstream that doesn't start with "Harry Potter" or end with "Titans". Not that I dislike the Harry Potter movies, or his part in them. On the contrary, I quite enjoyed both. I'd just like to see him in a few more regular movie roles, sans fantasy and makeup.
-
I liked Pierce Brosnan a lot and agree that Die Another Day was a lousy way for him to exit the series; but Daniel Craig edges him out in my estimation. 5. George Lazenby (He only did one so points off for lack of longevity.) 4. Timothy Dalton 3. Roger Moore 2. Daniel Craig 1. Sean Connery (Still the all time champ)
-
But Connery and Craig are my favorites.

...if this is indeed her final performance in a Bond film. Seventeen years in the role--I hope she gets a memorable exit. The talent behind this one seems a bit more impressive than usual. I'm really expecting this one to be great, as the 50th anniversary entry in the series ought to be memorable.
-
Good God, people. That has become the most abused film term, of any genre.
-
<p>I do have a little problem with Craig as a playa though. It's somewhat less believable.<p> <p>When I was a little kid, I wanted Simon MacCorkindale to be Bond.<p> <p>People thought I was crazy because he had dirty blonde hair (see Jaws 3D). I was told someone with that hair color could never be Bond.<p> <p>And now Craig.<p> <p>ROTFLMAO!<p>
-
This site is filled with dude's whose only critique on Craig is that he isn't sexy enough. Fucking hilarious. Craig rocks, and everyone knows it, and the Bourne comparison is ludicrous. Bring on "Skyfall" and the first real Bond since Connery!!!
-
I liked QOS. Hated the direction though. Action was staged right but filmed horribly. That being said I liked the idea of the Quantum group. They to me were realistic bad guys. Rich ass holes who all worked at sometime in a government institution. They were trying to make money illegally through using somewhat realistic ways. I know people bitch about the water thing but here very soon that shit is going to become very real. I was hoping Bond in the next film would go after the Quantum leadership. So then one would try and go after him or try and destroy MI6. It seems like Skyfall is disconnected from that. SPOILERS? I hope judy Dench goes down fighting. Or in some very bad ass way. I really got used to her as M. But SF will be hard core if it starts with M getting picked off.

Another "Bourne" Bond with no humor; wake me when this franchise injects humor and FUN back into it
by Dursman2000
I don't care if the Moore movies were ridiculous; at least they had a pulse. QUANTUM sucked.

(sigh) Daniel Craig back to bore the audience in the movie..........
by DanielnocharismaCraig
Borefall. A movie based on an actor so boring, it literally causes the audience to fall asleep in their seats before slumping over.

Oh wow! More pics of Daniel Craig with the exact same facial expression he always wears.
by DanielnocharismaCraig
The acting range of Daniel Craig is just amazing! No laughing, crying or any other emotion. Just that one over and over and over again that makes him look like he's been chewing on lemons for like ten hours.
-
To me, Brosnan looked like Bond, but shitty ass sex one liners and ridiculous gadgets that always saved his ass I thought made some fucking boring movies. Brosnan never looked like he could fight his way out of anything, all he did was hook up with hot chicks and say things like "I could eat a peach for hours." HAHAHAHAHAHA, fucking awesome, not really, fuck that Bond, THAT Bond was boring. Craig's Bond is awesome and if the lack of overly elaborate gadgets and shit one liners means he's boring, then I say sucks being you!!!!!!!!
-
<p>...was given some of the worst one-liners in the history of the franchise.<p> <p>"I thought Christmas comes/cums only once a year?"<p> <p>J\Ugh! Just awful.<p>
-
Notice the Craig backers can't argue with me about his lack of acting ability, and can only give an example of another actors movie performance instead?
-
<p>Because he was the guy every man wanted to be and every (straight) woman wanted to be with.<p>
-
...some of the coolest people I know rock a mean suit. Your comment is ridiculous and childish. There's a world of difference between some wage slave trudging to work in an ill-fitting, off-the-peg Topman 2-piece and someone wearing a sharp 3-piece bespoke tweed bad boy. Get some style, you fucking wannabe-anarchist asshat.
-
<p>What would be the point exactly?<p> <p>We'd offer proof of his acting ability by telling you to watch Layer Cake, Defiance, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo, etc.<p> <p>You'd use those films to say that it's proof that he can't act.<p> <p>So again, I ask, what would be the point?<p>
-
I think no one is arguing with you because they could not give a flying fuck what you think.

honestly the only Bond novel I've ever read is ThunderBall
by darthSaul666
And that was years ago...That being said I like Craig as Bond. He has that quality of being a bit of a common thug after a shit, shower, & shave....A character aspect most of the other Bond movies usually tended to ignore.
-
Idiotic.
-
He couldn't have been less sexual in the role. But, it was an interpretation for its time. In the early 80s, we had a Bond marathon every year at Tulane, and it was a blast. Lazenby even showed up one year. I loved his shot at Bond.

The best Bond of all time no question. Other bonds are like Orlando Bloom in 3 Musketeers in comparison.
by UltraTron
-
Produced ~282BHP and had a top speed of 140+mph in 1963. Not crap.
-
Thanks for the clarification... and great tb name btw!
-
I've always found an absurd charge. If anything, he's a misanthrope. He treats women with far more courtesy than he does men. The only reasonable charge is that he engages in casual sex, and is a seducer. Big deal. He likes sex. We know the guy can have no meaningful relationships (look what happened to Vesper and Tracy) so what's he supposed to do, jerk off?
-
Better than a good majority of Bond films, definitely better than any of the Roger Moore flicks.
-
I found Spartan by accident and thought, what the fuck, it's David Mamet let's give it a go ... I couldn't believe how good it was ... One of Val Kilmer's best films, although I thought more could have been done with the Curtis character.
-
I am just happy to see the use of the old Austin Martin again. I always hated when Bond would get a new car every film. Nothing like the true and only Bond car. The top picture for me says it all.

I could swear this was a thread for Tomb Raider to begin with, only Lara Croft is Larry or Lars Croft, a sexy devilishly handsome man-man pretty boy in a BSG like reinvention
by al
Anyway, these images look great so far. I think were lucky to have Mendes on this one, but I hope the -trend- continues. Looking at these is a bit like looking at lost storyboard concept art for that Doyle-Wong Kar Wai Bond movie that never happened in the end, because of 'creative differences' with the producers or something...
-
Craig looks more like how Fleming saw Bond than any other actor, which explains his initial rejection of Sean Connery. He felt he was too young, 32 at the time and too handsome. He later changed his mind after seeing "Dr. No". Quantum of Solace was fine, but edited way too much. The first car chase is fine, but the last act in the desert fortress was nearly incomprehensible so let's stay away from the AVID.
-
He just doesn't want any strings/attachments...what's wrong with that. If he hates woman so do all those cumbags on MTV's Real World and Spring Break specials.
-
April 12, 2012, 10:29 a.m. CST
I've known at least two females that thought Craig was it!
by ZodNotGod
They swoon. females are more forgiving on traditional looks; they like presence, confidence and power and Craig has it, plus for a man past 40 he's got many 20-somethings beat in the body department. Not a homo here, but he knows what the ladies like and keeps himself in check. If there were any geeks that actually interacted with real women they'd have known this. I like and respect anyone who takes care of their body as I'm currently losing some weight and getting fit. So any tubby geek bashing Craig, cram it. Unless you no longer have a 40 + waistline...Hmmmm?
-
He is described as tall, lean and darkly handsome with the looks of an American film star. All qualities that Daniel Craig is sadly lacking. You seriously think Ian Fleming, drink to hand, Noel Coward next door, the sun setting over GoldenEye, the sea lapping gently on the beach, had a Daniel Craig type in mind when he was writing those books? Come on! Be serious. Bond was Fleming's fantasy version of himself in many ways. You'd think he'd want to be Daniel Craig? I don't think so. He'd find Craig's Bond ghastly. Let's please not rewrite James Bond history to compensate for the fact that the actor now playing James Bond looks like a cross between Putin and that bloke who played Jim Hutton's dad on Ellery Queen.
-
Fleming hated Connery at first because he thought he was too rough and ready and uncouth. That "fucking milkman" as he said at the time. He changed his mind when Terance Young took Connery in hand and made him super suave and more handsome. So he was hardly likely to think much of Daniel Craig.
-
If that were really true then I ask why Fleming's very own drawing of what Bond looks like actually looks more like Craig than any of the other Bonds? And I'd even go so far as to say Fleming's drawing is not of an American movie star, but a gritty aged face, kinda like....Craig. Seriously, dude's saying Bond not hot enough, kinda weird.
-

Craig looks like a killer and is no less attractive than David Niven, Fleming's choice to play Bond
by Joe Plumber
That said, I'll agree that he doesn't portray the smooth charm with the ladies that Connery and Moore did.
-
...nor is he the worst Bond ever. The perfect Bond would combine Craig's physicality with more charisma and charm than Craig possesses. But you should still count yourself lucky. There will never be a Craig... ...Moonraker.
-
That's who Fleming had in mind for the looks of Bond. Probably closest to Clive Owen of all contemporary actors. I still like Craig as Bond. I don't remember who said it up there but he looks like he could kick the shit out of you. And yes, girls like the guy.
-

Craig is no worse looking then either of those two who were considered the part.

Tommy Wiseau has a better acting range than Daniel Craig
by DanielnocharismaCraig
At least he has more than one facial expression. Why didn't they cast Wiseau as Bond instead? I would pay to see that.

Fleming's picture someone posted in here looks like Hoagy Carmichael
by Joe Plumber
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c5/Fleming007impression.jpg http://www.vinylvendors.com/Pictures/h/o/hoagycarmichael444755.jpg But, Hoagy Carmichael looks like he couldn't hurt a fly. And Craig looks like he kills people for a living.
-
He went back to the PPK in Quantum of Solace, which really makes very little sense. It's antique, and heavy. I think the most sensible choice for Bond in the 21st Century is the ASP 9mm, but that's just me.
-
Seen the picture you mean. Looks like Basil Rathbone with slicked back hair. He looks posh. Daniel Craig looks like the man who comes to fix your boiler. How come by the way Bond is never drawn to look like Daniel Craig on the old Pan paperbacks? Hmmn.
-
Are you guys fucking serious? Or are you just fucking stupid? Would you consider his brilliant role in "Road to Perdition" bad acting? Would you think that he was bland in "Love is the Devil? Was he bad in "Layer Cake"? You guys are a fucking joke.

The PPK is elegant and cool. The P99 just looks like a Glock that the neighborhood flatfoot carries.

I like that fact that he brings a different take on Bond. Charming pretty boy has already been done.

as far as iconic eye candy goes, the first is still the best of course: Ursula Andress. But Green did a lot more than look beautiful as Vesper.
by dahveed1972
Quantum, as ive said before, is fine as an epilogue to Casino Royale. We just didnt need 2 hours of Bond seeking revenge. It wouldve made a great 10 minute prologue to skyfall. Oh well.
-
Your adamant defense of Craig's "hotness" is what's weird. Bond is supposed to be a playboy, a Ladies Man who enjoys women and the finer things in life...not a humorless thug. The. He'd be like every other hero in the movies. Craig is not only fugly, he is completely without charm or the kind of ease Bond should possess. Here's a fucking clue, guys, if you don't like 20 films in a 23 film series...uhm, you're probably not a Bond fan and just move on to something else.
-
April 12, 2012, 3:05 p.m. CST
rebeck, et al Craig haterz, Connery is the first and will always be the best Bond
by Joe Plumber
And I like Moore a lot. I like the humor of his films and his voice and line delivery. The only Bond I could never get into was Daltons, but I'm not sure that is Dalton's fault, but the writers and directors for making two boring ass bond films. Brosnan has his moments, but I don't feel like those films were very serious. I like the serious approach that they are bringing to these new Bonds. I loved Casino Royal. It made me feel how I felt as a child the first time I watched those Connery Bond films. I get that you guys miss all those iconic elements of the Bond in those films that built up over the years, but personally I find Craig and all involves take on Bond to be fresh and raw and invigorating much needed life into the series.
-
It's not his face, I can't get past Craig's back moles...ick. That's my two gay cents...Now can we get back to the ladies... Please.
-
At least, he's carrying a PPK in one photo. http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/1319245/new_pictures_daniel_craig_and_judi_dench_in_skyfall.html (FYI: In the Raymond Benson novels he is issued with a P99, but he uses his own personal PPK when he feels he needs better conceal-ability.)
-
Damn..Bond could only be uglier if Jay Z played him. Now THAT is one ugleee dude
-
..and I've said this before.. look up 70's British 'saucy' movie actor Sid James ( star of the series of 'Carry On' movies ), and you'll see that he's a friggin doppelganger of Daniel Craig..... Nyahahaha!!
-
Side by side - Sid James and Daniel Craig - SCARY! http://tinyurl.com/c5gjh8d
-
If people don't like Craig because he's different than the others, I mean, WTF? Do we really want to plug in the same exact guy? I like Craig's portrayal. Yes, Fassbender would be awesome too, but he's no pretty boy either, he's very rugged looking. So it's just all opinion vs opinion. I like different, some people don't, whatever.
-
<p>Come on, AICN. Jeez!<p> <p>http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/170187-bond-week-nine-more-images-from-skyfall-<p>
-
The action in that movie was great...I guess? Because I COULD NOT SEE what was going on.
-
Darth Meh is correct... Craig brings a much needed raw masculinity that was watered a bit with Brosnan. I liked him as Bond, thought his sense of humor was equal to Moore's and Connerys, but not nearly as pointed as those two... Lazenby needs a shout out. One of the best Bond flicks, with an underrated performance. Craig haters make no sense. They bitched before about Brosnan movies being goofy like the Moore flicks, (as if thats bad?) but then when the series gets all serious, they say it's too dry, mean and uninspired. Shut the hell up you fickle dopes.
-

Despite some of the dumb jokes...Octopussy has a great performance by Moore...
by ZodNotGod
He's surprisingly tough and intense....carried over from For Your Eyes Only...
-
That first image fills me with confidence. It is an homage and just likethe Aston's appearance in CR it signals to me an effort to return to the underlying theme of Bond in CR - a "blunt instrument" working to fit into espionage. As such it would make sense to bump off or seriously damage Dench's M - produce the confilct in Bond whether to cluster bomb everyone responsible or honor M's desire that he become more of a targeted missile. If youve read the Bond novels , including Colonel Sun in this, you see brutish, cold and personality closer to Lazenby, Dalton and Craig. The material just didnt live up to the "Bondness" of the leads in every outing. Connery split the difference more and set the stage for transition to Moore's entertaining but very unliterary Bond. I definitely like the course correction and could see incorporating some of the themes of the sanctioned Bond novels of recent years. I'm hopeful and psyched. And that image invokes a little North by Northwest and American Werewolf for me as well - also nice allusions!
-
Or was it Saltzman and Cubby together? Cool title, they need to do it.
-
Looks like Peter Cushing....very Craig like.
