Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that this Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day in no way endorses a belief in the occult.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!

This weekend is all about a resurrection… or an angel of death, depending on your religious preference (there's also marshmallow baby chickens, but that one doesn’t really fit with my picture, so I’m going to ignore it), so I got you covered on both with today BTS.

We have zombies, which are dead things that resurrect, so two in one!

This isn’t the first time a shot from Thriller has made its way into the column and it won’t be the last. It’s an iconic moment of pop storytelling. You have John Landis fresh off of An American Werewolf In London and Twilight Zone, Michael Jackson in his prime and Rick Baker along for the ride.

Despite Jackson’s disclaimer before the film (paraphrased in the headline), he was a big horror fan. In fact, he used to go to monster conventions dressed head to toe in disguises so he wouldn’t be recognized. The most famous of these is a Nosferatu costume he dressed up, mask and all. It’s the modern day equivalent of being a famous geek and dressing up as a stormtrooper so you can actually go to Comic-Con.

We’ve seen Jackson in his were-cat getup, now we get to see Rick Baker touching up MJ’s zombie make-up while Landis looks on. It’s a great shot and I hope you guys enjoy it!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.

Tomorrow’s pic is holiday themed! And from the golden era of Hollywood.
