The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day is your friend till the end. Hidey-ho, ha-ha-ha!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Since I couldn’t 100% guarantee the presence of one Mr. Howard Berger in the Night of the Creeps picture earlier this week, I figured I’d grab another one from the files that for sure features the B of KNB, although I’m sure he’s not gonna be thrilled by his obviously exhausted (and mulleted) appearance here.
But it’s okay. We all know bringing a cursing, murderous doll to life is tiring work and as far as the mullet… hey, it was the ‘80s. I think it was required, especially if you worked in effects.
So, here’s Mr. Berger and crew working with Chucky on the set of the very first Child’s Play.
Another shout out to the Practical Effects Group for this shot! Click to enlargen!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
Tomorrow’s pic continues the love.

That damn Chucky!!!! LOL!!!
-
Even though I never watched it, and Monkey Shines is another... in fact I've never seen either one.
-
And was promptly fired.
-
That's pretty poor judgment.

Kind of epitomizes the height of 80s slasher genre insanity. For all intents and purposes, the film should not work. But it does, due in large part to the effects work and Brad Dourif. The 2nd film is still my favorite, though(you can't beat that zany dutch angle of Chucky coming out of the school closet wielding a yardstick). They're working on a "reboot" that is supposed to return the series to its dark roots. I was skeptical, but I've heard that both Mancini and Dourif are on board, which gives me optimism.
-
...Mark Ruffalo sort of looks like a young Chris Sarandon? And by the way? Mullets will be back. Oh yes. But they'll probably remake Child's Play twice before they do.
-
And it wasn't some kid telling on the teacher just to be a dick. Kids were coming out of there crying.

Yeah, Mullet Man does look stoned...it also looks like....
by Bobo_Vision
...playing with Chuckie is the closest thing to having contact with children that Mullet Man is allowed due to a court order.
-
For the first few "Child's Play" films, Dourif recorded his lines in studio before principal photography even began so that the effects crew could do a more accurate job of synching Chucky's mouth. Apparently Dourif was rarely, if ever, on the physical set.
-
Should've clarified.

Love this series. So it's only a matter of time before it gets a reboot.

Mullets and acid wash jeans should be warning signs to all the idiots with feathered hair and skinny jeans now
by torontoxic
Nobody knows they look like assholes until it's too late. <P> Child's Play will be remade btw. Just wait for it.

Cameron broke the record of solodiving in the deepest place on Earth and also because his 2nd highest-grossing,all-time world breaking movie was re-released in 3D last week. If anything else,it is the best time for a small BTS to the Man. Btw how comes we didnt get a review of Titanic 3D.i am curious to see how the 3D conversion went and if it better than the previous efforts.
-
Now wait for the remake where he is going to be a real mutant doll. (Like the one in a 2000AD story) CHILL.

This December is the 15 year anniversary of the film. But who knows what Quint will do. Fucker completely dropped the ball on THE GODFATHER anniversary last weekend (40 years).

killik & logan - now is the best time for a Titanic pic...
by irishraidersfan
As we're also almost at the 100th anniversary of the sailing (10th April) and the sinking (15th April). No doubt we'll have some clowns telling me it's the 14th, but she struck at 20 to midnight, sank at 2.20am on the 15th, ship's time. I'm what's known as a Titanorak in UK/Ireland.
-
And yeah, it works because of the great practical effects work and Brad Douriff's incredibly funny/menacing performance. What's interesting is that we don't even see Chucky come to life until 45 minutes into the film, but is it ever worth the wait... "You stupid bitch"! "You filthy slut, I'll teach you to fuck with me"!!

Now shut up before I kick your fuckin' teeth in

not as great as the Jennifer Tilly pics, but this will do!

And another line should have accompanied it: You goddamn women drivers! Harry, what's with the quote problem? Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. I was going to ask you to bring the site out of the 90's, but we didn't have the quote problem then. Come on!

Last I heard there's 2 child's play movies in the works
by fat_rancor_keeper
One a darker reboot/remake of the original and no clue what the other is. In any case both are in limbo.
-
what kind of pussy school did you go to?
-
Maybe it's because it was the first film in the series I saw, but I've always enjoyed the second film the most. The direction is slicker, the cinematography (by 90's Tim Burton vet Stefan Czapsky) is superb, the mixture of thrills and laughs is just right (the third film was just plain mediocre, and the last two films' descent into grotesque self-parody has been nothing less than ghastly), Graeme Revell's score kicks ass, the animatronic effects are superior, there are cooler death scenes (I love it when Chucky smothers the Ally McBeal guy to death from the back seat of his car)...it's like the Dream Warriors of the Chucky franchise. If the forthcoming remake/boot returns the franchise to the thriller roots of the first two films, I'd be very happy.
-
I'm totally on board (pun) with you there mate...I'm a Titanic geek too. I'm just saying that if we're going to celebrate TITANIC the film then the accolades should come in December. Let's use April to remember the real event and its significance.
-
Chucky's size in relation to objects and people varies rather wildly throughout the movie, which I noticed even as a 9-year-old. Still a very scary movie at that age, though. I also have to agree that the second one nearly matches the first, but maybe that's because I saw it in the theater when I was 11, and my 7-year-old brother and I were the only people in the theater. Come to think of it, I have no idea how that happened. Guess we bought tickets to something else and snuck in. I think the suburban setting of the second one also made it hit closer to home than the original with its rather foreign (to me, at the time) big city setting. I'll always love half-melted Chucky.

time for a reboot. give me a puppet body, and CGI face made to look like a doll.

Always wondered where you guys kept the chained up kids, dead hookers and meth.
-
This IS the end, friend!
-
That chalky voice and those curves. Jesus she's hot.
-
har har
-
Was kinda, sorta hoping this would be a live-action shot of Matt and Trey crafting a real Mr. Hankey.
-
looks weirdly like a doll. I wonder if it is or it's an actual person.
-
I live in NZ so it's probably already been on in the states.
-
It marks the 100 year anniversary of the disaster on that day. I think it would be a fitting tribute - perhaps, though, you should use pics both from Titanic and A Night To Remember (deemed one of the most accurate portrayals by actual survivors). Just before midnight if you can swing it - get it down to the hour ;)
-
man, did that movie suck
-
One of Romero's most underrated films.
-
belongs to a then Miss Stephanie Kern--and I can assure you she wasn't a doll of any kind.

with complete NY hipsters. More girls had em.
