Better than expected. Worth seeing, for sure. Gillian Anderson does a great job in it.

"Don’t Trust The Bitch" ??, JESUS FUCK THAT IS EDGY! HOLY MOTHERFUCKING HELL, ABC, YOU ARE ONE EDGY NETWORK!!!!
by Simpsonian

Via a preview on Hulu, and while it had two or three funny moments, it was pretty awful otherwise. Seems like ABC is trying to produce the same magic from Fox's "The New Girl," only with a dash of cuntiness, only that lack of cuntiness on "The New Girl" is one big reason it has succeeded so tremendously, in my opinion. I learned long ago not to judge a series on its pilot, though. If my wife continues to watch it, I might hang in a couple more episodes and see how it goes. Krysten Ritter is super cute, but is an ill fit for the titular "Bitch," and I don't see how the whole overly meta Van der Beek character can be sustained.
-
Gillian Anderson and Harry Lloyd ( he played Danaerys' evil brother in Game of Thrones ) are especially awesome in this Dickens tv drama.
-
and by article i mean a copy and paste job as an excuse to throw up some amazon links

If this involves time travel.....

I Love When People Like Rebel Are Total Cunts for No Reason
by Crow3711
Especailly considering some of us, myself included, actually find this "copy and pasted" information very useful. I didn't know about this great expectations airing on pbs, but now i do, and since i'm not a dolt, i'm gonna watch the shit out of it. and thanks for the recommendations guys above. I know now when Parks comes back, am more excited for thrones TOMORROW!, andI also had NO IDEA before this article that HBO was doing another season of the rick gervais show, one of the funniest and under watched (it pulls a 0.0 consistently!) shows on hbo. they just hilarious podcasts and animate them. so glad its coming back for more. so fuck you rebel. stop being so county.
-
Season one was pretty good, and some episodes were really great.
-
Is there going to be an AICN review of Game of Thrones season two before it airs? Don't you guys get 3 or 4 episodes to review ahead of time? Nothing like waiting until the last second.
-
It's not like it's a new show you are unsure about and want a second opinion on. You know you're going to watch it no matter what. Will reading Hercs glowing review make it better somehow? Just wondering.
-
Metalocolypse fuck yes!!!!!! That is all
-
Aside from GoT and Top Gear, thewre's nothing here I'm even remotely interested in seeing. And I already saw this past series of TG unedited via torrents.
-
No, but that was an episode of "Voyagers".

re: "Is there going to be an AICN review of Game of Thrones season two before it airs?"
by jim
It's still more than a day away. It will no doubt be up early tomorrow. This is the internet, where "last second" is much more literal than in the real world (thanks largely to eBay and all those "More like 'AintitOLDnews'; I read the same story at [insert obscure website here] 16 minutes ago" people.
-
Season premiere is already available legally on the Showtime web site and YouTube. Can't wait for Metalocalypse!
-
First episode was on in the UK last week and it's pretty shit..just think of it like the movie special edition about the other characters. Oh, and the boat sinks..... In the first episode....but I take it by the preview for next week that we see it from the point of view of other pointless characters before we get to the end. ...crap!!!!!
-
...it will be four hours and thirty-five minutes before the beginning of the new season of Game of Thrones.
-
...make that thirty-four. And now thirty-three.

Titanic already on here in Canada. Another crap Canadian effort.
by tangcameo
You watch Toby Jones and Linus Roache and you think ok this might not be so bad. Then you see the first Canadian contribution to the miniseries is the guy from Hangin' In (Canadian early 80s sitcom) who I haven't seen in anything since 1990. I turned off the tv after that.

I dont expect a single bad review of GoT for much of the season
by Turingtestee
There might be patch or two in the second half that will be comparable to last seasons tournament sequences. The limited scope of the tourney didn't bother me as much as giving Littlefinger the Hounds speech to Sansa about the burn his brother gave him. Big first moment in the relationship between the two. Worse was the actors in-character slide off camera.
-
March 31, 2012, 5:46 p.m. CST
turingtestee, the only possible bad reviews for GoT would come from poor handling of the source material.
by Gene Cowan
Episode 9 of will determine whether the season is simply great, or absolutely incredible. Not sure if you're familiar with the story, so I won't go into any detail -- let's just say S1 had the luxury of skipping some major battle scenes without getting TOO much flak from fans. S2 does NOT have that luxury and has some scenes that could set new standards for TV. I have a feeling that one scene in particular won't quite be THAT great, but I don't expect I'll be disappointed by any means.

Game of Thrones is the most important on this list. METALOCALYPSE 2nd!

I expect Tyrion to get knocked out right before every epic battle scene.
by tomandshell
You know, to keep costs low. Then six or seven survivors will ride over the hill to where the women (and cameras) are waiting and they'll announce a grand victory that wouldn't have been possible without the 18,000 soldiers that are celebrating the next valley over.
-
Starts on April the 14th. You forgot it.
-
This is a niche website and I would expect a review from this site to be a bit different from one from the more mainstream sites or news magazines. True, I am going to watch anyway, but a great review adds to the anticipation of seeing greatness. Here I can expect more details of; how the CGI turned out, how closely it follows the books, and the general production values. This site (usually) gives us a bit more insight on the nuances of the series rather than just an Entertainment Weeklys generic review.
-
The new season of this dense medieval fantasy set in a land called Westeros serves up a whole bunch of wartime posturing, a seemingly endless number of would-be rulers and the usual sex and (sometimes in the same scene) violence. But it sure doesn’t give viewers much to latch onto.
-
That above quote is from a lengthy post from the current NYT's review. I went on as to what complete clueless idiots the NYT reviewers are...and of course my total post and rant was eaten. Anywho, I am looking forward to Season 2!
-
Boring ass show the killing is fucked trying to go against a show like game of thrones
-
March 31, 2012, 10:48 p.m. CST
With the nature of cable, I don't think that the individual shows compete like that.
by Turingtestee
You can watch The Killing, Game of Thrones and Mad Men tomorrow in damn near any order you wish, the way the shows are repeated along parallel channels now.
-
Season two of Thrones is working at a level almost nothing else on television approaches. Littlefinger's a fancy man.
-
Season one made me, my dad, my sister and a couple buddies read all 5 books
-
, I'll swap all of the above to get the final season of BB.
-
I don't want to see Jesse find out Walt poisoned the kid. Walt did it for himself, his family, Jesse, the woman and her kid. Obviously Jesse won't understand and turn against Walt. I don't want that.
-
No man. July cannot get here soon enough
-
The most ill-informed, out of touch review I've read in years for ANY show. Perhaps he thinks Twin Peaks would have been better if Laura Palmer hadn't been murdered as well.Or maybe Star Wars would have been better of Obi Wan Kenobi had survived at the end to continue Luke's training. He's completely missing it. If this had been a film series adaptation, Ned's death probably would have ended the first movie. ..probably... I have no respect for a critic that bases essentially his entire negative review on the series NOT being formulaic enough for him. And he's dead wrong about people who have not read the books not having anything there to latch onto. His mild criticism of the violence is the type that drives me up the wall. I guess he prefers unrealistic outcomes as a result of extreme violence. I think he also has a shame issue when it comes to nudity. But what REALLY TAKES THE CAKE (and shits in it) is this.... *What “Game of Thrones” needs if it is to expand its fan base beyond Dungeons & Dragons types is what most of the United States didn’t get this year: a hard winter.* Does he realize how large the show's audience is? Or is he on the wrong page and the wrong file? Is he accidentally reading the ratings for the last season of Xena? Talk about clueless!!
-
What kind of man? I'll tell you the kind. The kind that is SO engaged, SO wrapped up in the characters, that he may actually respond to a character's choice by refusing to watch the aftermath. Now that's impact. Not me, though. Right now, if someone told me I had 2 choices.... 1. Never see the last season of Breaking Bad, but I get a free 4 bedroom house I can live in for 5 years without paying a dime... or 2. I have to be homeless all summer, but I get to see the last season... I would choose 2. Sick, I know. It's only a show, after all. And Guernica is only a painting.
-
Personally, I prefer Borgia at this point. But I'm looking forward to seeing where this season goes on The Borgias. Borgia, on the other hand.... The wait for another season is killing me. Opinions? If anyone is still around?

magic city is on STARZ!!! not SHOWTIME

there is only one way for any reasonable intelligent person to have a negative opinion of GAMES OF THRONES: he never saw it.
by AsimovLives

No man Given those 2 options, I also would choose the latter. We always knew it wouldn't end well for WW. I hope it does end well for JP. In Vince we trust.

He was a new Jersey reporter covering beach erosion, who wrote a play. It was not a good play, but enough to allow the Times to let him start writing theater reviews in Jersey. Then having written some theater reviews he was considered a critic in New York. Then being a theatre critic somehow made him qualified to be a movie critic. People have complain about his reviews based on personal prejudices for years. But the Times is loyal to their own, qualified or not.

What's up with the Borgias? The whole show is recasted and didn't follow last season's plot line.

Ultimate SPIDER-MAN (aka Spider-man and His Amazing Shield Friends)
by palewook
meh. voice is wrong for spider-man. this series isn't going to appeal to spectacular spider-man fans. even the casting of stan lee as the school janitor seems dumb. only thing this animation is missing, a talking spider-dog. overal: 1 star out of 4.
-
I enjoyed the hell out of both Ultimate Spiderman episodes. It has a Teen Titans vibe going for it. Hell yeah it's Spidey and his amazing friends. I loved that series and they used the hell out of the Marvel universe; which looks like what they're doing with this show. And c'mon, how do not love Agent Coulson as the school principal keeping an eye on them and presumebly covering their ass when need be. Avengers was GOLD! The FF, Doom, Skrull imposters...HELL YEAH!!! That Hulk/Thing rivalry shit was awesome!
