Moviefone has the trailer for PEOPLE LIKE US, starring Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Olivia Wilde. It's from a script by Jody Lambert, Boborci, and Alex Kurtzman. Orci and Kurtzman also produced the film, on which Kurtzman makes his (feature) directorial debut.

I have the uneasy feeling that after all of it he finds out that she's his sister in an abstract sense, and not a genetic one, leaving the door open for an actual romance. It'd be nice, instead, to see these two winning actors make it through a movie simply being characters discovering one of the truths of life that people are interesting and it feels good to help people see that even if they lack a level of success, they still have worth for who they are. Hollywood, though, tends to disappoint me at every turn. We'll see. I do enjoy Pine, though, and Banks. There are few actresses and actors of this generation I'm enjoying, but these are two.

Judging from last year's Shitwreck, Cowboys and Aliens, it seems that Bobby's writing classes didn't pay off as he had hoped. for Pine not reveal to Banks that they're brother/sister? Is it because he needs the money? If so, then he wouldn't even go see this person that he never knew existed until 5 minutes ago. If he's honoring his dad's wishes, then he'd explain who he is as he gives her the money. So there's no reason for this movie to be anything other than 10 minutes long.

From the shots of Phiefer it looks like they aren't trying to sexy her up, which I guess works for the character she's playing but she's still pretty anyway. Also, hey, Captain Kirk and the Death Watch Leader from Clone Wars in a scene together is worth checking out. (Just watched that episode, Favreau totally rocks in even just a voice-over role for probably the most menacing character he's ever played.) Anybody else notice the title card at the end popped up almost exactly like how it was used in Crazy Stupid Love or izzat just me? Musta been cut together by the same crew

That was a damn fun movie and guess the screenwriters deserve a good bit of the credit along with cast and Abrams and the rest of the team. I can only hope the Transformers movies are just paycheck gigs and that he really doesn't think they are good on any level. But tough to argue with $1billion in box office too I guess.

Just because it holds back the Transforming robots, gets a bunch of different characters from all over the world, and then twists all of the plotlines together. Sure, the Transformers themselves kind of end of being supporting characters in their own movie but I think it works because you've seen only pieces of the whole from different character viewpoints. The sequels it's all there on front street from frame one so there isn't much mystery to it. Besides, I still say introducing a giant transforming robot to the world by having it smash up the ground and yell "ARE YOU EBAY USER LADIESMAN1345!!" is one of the more unique and wacky character introductions I've seen in a mainstream blockbuster in awhile.

I forget what else came out that weekend but I saw that instead but generally whatever Elizabeth Banks is in I'm 90% guaranteed to buy a ticket for. I'm pretty easy when it comes to whatever is out that weekend if it has a chick in it I dig (Hell, I saw The Change Up the week after Cowboys & Aliens just because I wanted to get two weeks worth of Oliva Wilde in theatres). So, yes, I will pay to see this flick eventually. The fact that I (kinda) get paid for it months later is just a fringe benefit.

April is looking a tad dicey aside from Cabin and I wanna see American Reunion just cuz I'm a fan of the original and could be interesting to check in on the character (Sean William Scott was actually great in Goon and I'm pretty much always a fan of him) And after that from May to August looks like various types of gravy week in and week out. yeah agree with conspiracy, it's like a lot of the high quality content-wise talkbackers have left or stopped posting for some reason. It also doesn't help that most Hollywood movies these days is generic formulated SHIT completely designed and engineered to generate maximum profit revenue from the lowest common denominator human "being", so this of course attracts the filth and scum of humanity an avenue to express themselves with other like-minded cretins. I mean sure sometimes you see everybody uniting to celebrate certain movies, I think like Inception or something was one, but that's pretty rare these days, I mean just because people say Christopher Nolan this, Christopher Nolan that, yeah yeah Christopher Nolan makes movies that bring all people together promising nothing but ideas and inspiration on how to be a better human being and facing fear and challenges and making sacrifices for the greater good of fucking whatever doesn't automatically make it true. But yeah hey whatever enjoy fucking 3 stooges with a snooki cameo, that's actually kind of cool though by linking it to a different genre of movie like Thor to get that young teen repressed angry white male demographic, young guys just LOVE Facebook and Taser jokes so this is actually a smart move by some qualified studio executive and/or multiple writers. Spiderman Reboot looks good too, definitely nice to take a break and step back from that "gritty dark" kind of super-colossal-success type of movie that seems to work.

... just because Orci shows up, we should now hold on our opinions? I agree thatm even the most agressive opinion shown must be based on more then one just vent spleen. But what i ahve seen here is people who used to be very critical of Orci now all fall on his feet all happy because he just deignus with his presence. Nonsense!! We should give him harsh words if we think he makes bad movies. And by bad, i mean, bad movies that didn't need to be that bad, and whose badness could had easily avoided for the most part. And none can exemplify better then the Abrams Trek movie. I can buy Orci's argument that he was strongarmed by Bay for the worst aspects of Transformers and that he feels genuine regret for how it turned out. I buy that. But it doesn't exempt it. It's shame he has to carry with him, the price of being a collaborator with bad is eternal shame. If Orci was a genuine talent, he would had taken the debacle as a lesson and lerned from it. But i see no learning from him, just more of the same. Orci talks a good talk about his own supposed self-deprecation for the things he did wrong, but it never feels sincere. I see none of that in his work, which remains the same, unchanged. Just because he shows up here doesn't mean i'm going to mince words on him. The way i see it, i do better that way then to pretent a sympathy i do not feel for him. No i'm not going to praise his supposed bravery or courage himself here. It's as brave of him to be in here as i am. Meaning, not much at all. I have pals, and Orci is not one of them. If i had ways to realise my ambition as a filmmaker in Holywood, Orci would not be my meal ticket. Because he is not the people i wanted to be associated with.

I watched that movie and i couldn't help think of how everything wrong about the protagonist of YOUNG ADULT was so dead on in regard to our Bobby Orci boy.

After she learns that nobody in he hometown admires her, and in fact everybody feels pity for her delusions of sucess and coolness, she is this close to learn a lesson that could turn her life away for the better. But then she gets praised by this clueless misguided gusher, which just reinforces all the bad things in her. So she ends up not learning the real lesson and instead builds another misguided fantasy about herself, worst then what she already had. And what happened to the protagonist of YOUNG ADULT is the same what happens with Orci with all the gushers in here. Orci will never learn the real lesson, not when he constantly gets his worst flaws reinforced by the gushing he mets. I would evne say that's the major reason he visits this site's talkbacks, to have his ego reinforced by the gushing from by the people who pretends they are his friends and that' he's one of us. I used to feel irritate with Orci for this, but after watching YOUNG ADULT, i think i kinda feel pity for him. Despite the supposed sucess, it must be such a hollow way to live life as a studio hack constantly making the dumbest emptiest hollow pieces of disposable entertaiment.

well, i do beleive Orci when he claims that the ministrel robotrds were not his fault.... to a point. i beleive him when he sais he's not racist. i do beleive the idea of the ministrel robots was Mickey Bay's. Those characters have all the hallmark and imprints of Bay all over them. Orci said he had shouting arguments with Bay. WEll, i doubt he had the balls to shout to Bay's face, but i'm perfectly ready to beleive he did told Bay how uncorfortable he was with the way those character were to be depicted onscreen. But Orci deserves to be chastise anyway. Not by action but my omission. He could had quit in protest. But he didn't. He was a coward. So, yeah, he will get the shallacking, and he deserves it. He is not a racist but he allowed racism to be comited on his watch, and he didn't pulled any real effort in his protest, he remained on board and collected the paycheck and the profit points.
