Well done, Lookylookymoontard, you've finally accomplished that which no other talk-backer has ever succeeded in doing!

That is the oddest group of books to talk about ever...

You go Bendis to Legion to rape/gore/gross/death comic with Crossed. I'm at work so I can't listen to this yet but if it does do that I will laugh my head off. Even if it doesn't. It's still fun to listen too.
-
A lot of shows just keep reviewing the same books over and over, but we really try to switch it up and only repeat books if it's going to make for interesting conversation :)
-
There's more to life than the coveted first post on the Talk back. I should actually contribute to the topic at hand, OH SHIT! Here comes my boss gotta look busy and switch tabs
-
...first seems to be the equivalent of getting laid to some TBers, though I'm pretty sure if you are darting to the TBs to write first and are somehow jazzed about that it's more likely the antidote for getting some.
-
I would think it would be more difficult to go for fourteenth poster. You guys should aim for something more difficult.

Says the guy who writes a novel to review a comic book that has maybe a full page of writing in it.

The fact that you're confused over the analysis of comprehensive artforms (why write about paintings, since they have no words at all?), or the fact that you're criticizing someone doing something product with their time? Either way, keep derping onward.
-
I jot thing down while listening, when I have the time. 1.) I love those re-enactment readings WAAAY more than I have any reason too! Every time you don't do one, another talkbacker troll is born. Think about that. B.) That Captain America dub sounded like it was coming out of Iron Man's helmet. 3.) RE: Spider-Woman cracks. YOU SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTHS! SHE IS AWESOME AND YOU ARE NOT!! IV.) I think JD's dislike of UFO stories is probably related to a fishing trip alone, a late night teleport abduction, and a gang-probe. E.) It's SAW-guh, JD. SAW-guh. You're driving me crazy. 6.) On that note, if Fiona's interior SAW-guh art looks a little rushed, it's probably due to twice the normal amount of content. There was probably a time-crunch involved.

Thanks for manning up.

Been listening to these pod cast for a few months now. i think this one had the best conversations between all the players. When more than one person has read the books, it makes for a much more engaging show. When you guys pick the books to review, maybe a requirement for the show is that at least three of you are gonna read it? And while I'm at it, give Journey into Mystery a gander sometime. I'd enjoy hearing everyones take on the book. Later
-
Did either of you ever get around to reading Gladstone's? Thoughts?
-
I mean LOVED it! Read it, flipped through it again to just look at the art and layout, then read it again. Afterwards I immediately wanted to know more. That one is probably going to read exceptionally well in graphic novel form. My favorite new ongoing title in a good long time. Hope it holds up.
-
I have looked, but to no avail. I'll probably have to special order it. JD works in a comic shop and has no excuse, tho. Any negatory response is proof of shiftless lay-about-itis.
-
I believe I OWN the first issue, but it sits in my "to read" short box by my bed just waiting for me to read it. I'll get to it! I will!
-
glargh! I haven't read the issue yet, but I will, I swear!
-
Its a right of passage.......your day will come :)

Lots of fun and Mark Andrew Smith is a great writer for all ages. Check out his New Brighton Archaeological Society for another awesome kid adventure.

Though I don't say SEGA, I say SAHHHHHGA, to rhyme FAG-A

Really appreciate the kind words! Write in and guess what the ASSterpiece theatre was this week and when you're right, make us review JOURNEY!!!
-
You couldn't use something like 'bag' or 'tag'? Not cool. I thought you were better than that. Homer probably did, too.
-
I wasn't going using that as an insult, I was thinking british smoke. Was literally just watching Luther (which is an AWWWESOME show starring Idris Elba that you should check out) and Fag was just the first thing that came to mind. No offense intended.

Ps Pink, you'll be happy to know that the cover to NO PLACE LIKE HOME 2 is nothing like the first one :)

Is anyone actually offended by these words anymore? They are so cartoonish at this point. I've yet to meet someone who is offended by terms like that. Either it's bandied about between friends and it's cool, or even when someone calls them that in an attempt to be insulting, they aren't insulted by it. The only people I see getting offended are people who are offended FOR other people, if that makes sense.
-
....two members of my women's club also belong to the LGBT club. Yes, JD. Words like that are used in harsh ways you might not imagine, and they still offend. Please don't go down that 'I don't see a problem with it/everybody does it/my gay friend is fine with it' logical fallacy junk thinking. I've seen two guys get beaten senseless and bloody, I've seen one woman get the crap kicked out of her by a group of 5 others, and I've seen countless people online just quietly go away and stop participating, or never bother to begin with. RE: No Place Like Home. I might take a look at it, but it won't be due to a positive female review for the first issue. It's a sociological fact that the first person to roll over on women with sexist thinking is other women. It's a power dynamic that involves selling out your own kind to ingratiate yourself to the majority in power, and it's been done throughout history. When you see somebody proudly exclaim, 'Well, *I* don't have a problem with it!', it makes your brain hurt. Because there's so much education required to bring them up to speed, that you just don't bother. Which is usually exactly what the men who brought the little token out were hoping for. I hope that writing is well done. It depends on whether or not the same mentality responsible for the first cover is also responsible for the writing.
