Hugh Jackman Is Taking PRISONERS!!
The Kidd here...
Don't panic. This isn't going to get in the way of THE WOLVERINE, which is set to start shooting first, but Hugh Jackman has lined up his next project, agreeing to star in PRISONERS for Alcon Entertainment.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (INCENDIES), Jackman is set to take the law into his own hands after his young daughter and best friend are kidnapped and the police aren't able to find them. He thinks he finds the man responsible and kidnaps him, but, as things go further, he starts to question whether or not he even has the right guy.
Jackman as a small-town carpenter...? Okay, I guess I can see it, but, for some reason, this feels like a mix of a number of different movies we've seen in recent years.

I think Hugh Jackman would make a great carpenter no matter where he is.

It's a lot darker than Taken, etc - which it *does* resemble in some ways. If they actually follow through with some of the shit that goes down, this is an interesting role for a big actor like Jackman to take on. His character certainly does some things that cast him in an unsympathetic light.

...because you'll be seeing a lot of it for the next 5 years. This at least sounds like it has a few interesting twists thrown in, though.

For goodness sake, don't feel forced to comment if you have to say just bull*sh*it...Prisoners script is excellent, Denis Villeneuve has first class credentials, Jackman could play anything, given the talent he has, so wait the movie is filmed in the year 2013 first to pan something that actually has not yet been filmed.

i can't say i've ever seen a bad one along these lines. it feeds very well to the male/father protector gene we all have, when it's not locked in the basement eating doritos and trolling messageboards. it's pretty much what we were born to do, and always worry about. plus, with the economic and social collapses going on, expect a lot more kidnappings...lol

HAMMERED.. JOIST.. BALL PEEN.. DOVETAIL.. KNOTTY PINE.. NAILED.. all of these could either be action flicks about a vengeful carpenter, or gay porn titles. either way, how much you bet the final vengeance will involve his carpentry skills (to build a coffn) or tools to bloody a body....or both. but i guess i could read the script- where are you guys finding it?

He needs to just start randomly showing up in ALL the Marvel comic-book movies the way he did FIRST CLASS. I want to see another Wolverine movie as well as cameos in Spider-Man and The Avengers. I dont care who has what rights....somebody make it happen!

Sometime around the last Wolverine movie and Real Steel. His main fault is, basically: no script is too awful for him to pass up. With his star power, I'm surprised he doesn't insist on getting the more prestige projects that Daniel Craig is, for example, aside from Bond.
