The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day doesn’t need this. It already has trouble with its wife, its kids, its business, its secretary and the bums.
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
There are some films I never expected to find BTS pics from. Sometimes that’s because they’re obscure, sometimes it’s because they were made for 79 cents and probably couldn’t afford to have an onset photographer. 1987’s Street Trash is both and I never in a million years thought I’d be offering up a Behind the Scenes Pic for it, but life is kind, Movie Crom has smiled upon his children, and we not only have a Street Trash BTS pic for you, but one involving the most iconic part of the movie, which is about cheap liquor making the bums who buy it melt.
I’m told that lovely effects lady is Jennifer Aspinall and, as you can clearly see, her job was very glamorous on this set.
Another nod of the hat to the Practical Effects Group for this one.

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
Tomorrow’s pic is o.k.

Half expect to see Ewan MacGregor to cling out of that
-
I assumed the most iconic image from STREET TRASH was the part where they were playing "keep away" with the bum's severed dong? Or at least the "gas tank missile" gag aftermath?

p.s. - Aspinall is actually more famous for being the FX wiz behind the original THE TOXIC AVENGER ... and for about twenty or so years' service as the makeup effects supervisor on "Saturday Night Live".

I bet she is thinking: "I hope someday i will be doing this with cgi"

Where I first saw this pic; in my teens reading Fangoria falling in love with Aspinall 'cause she did cool fx AND was a woman. Well... as a teen, being just female would do the falling-in-love trick pretty easy for me...

It was GoreZone or Toxic Shock...

Jesus Christ, are you a Dreamworks stockholder or something? I mean, I get nerd rage, I really do, but unless the girl you really really want to bone who works with you at Hardees only has eyes for Taylor Kitsch, you were fist-molested as a child by Andrew Stanton or unless you happen to be that one distant relative of Edgar Rice Burroughs who completely objected to a second-rate adaptation of the material, I'd scale back on the JOHN CARTER hatred just a smidge. particularly when you take into account that the Behind The Scenes pic has absolutely nothing to do with JOHN CARTER in any way, shape or form and you couldn't look more like a fucking troll if you were living under a bridge and eating billy goats.
-
Funny stuff, man. I laughed my ass off.
-
Taylor was totally miscast, the chick in this pic, with slicked back hair, would probably have been a better clean-limbed fighting man. I have spoken
-
I believe she also handled the effects on the original SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE, or possibly, the second one (a.k.a - the one with the nasty drill effects and the giant exploding zit).
-
Fuck off. We don't need your Bayformers loving, pulp hating ass here.

Brilliant film!

We had a regular Friday film/beer night and watched this along with other gems such as Bad Taste, Reanimator, Chopping Mall, Frankenhooker etc. We couldn't get enough of quality shlock. This however made me feel a little sleazy after watching it. It's kinda grubby but definitely a fun watch when pissed. Was amazed when the VHS appeared for sale a few years later in HMV. Was even more amazed when our local dodgy DVD outlet (in an indoor market with its own fake wall concealing copied porn DVDs) had a German import. The guy wanted nearly £40 for it so I didn't bother. Then last year there it was again on the high street shelves in a Special Edition case with (I believe), commentaries, BTS and a frickin' poster! I think someone from the crew might have posted some stuff about the production on its IMDB page. Sure I read something like that. What was the drink called? Viper? Hard to believe what I thought was just some obscure little movie had gotten such attention. I figured it may pop up in the WTF? thread some day but not in the BTS pic thread! Cool fucked up film. Btw, what has happened to the WTF? thread?

Oh yeah! We had a band and for the shortest while....
by richardHarrisonsSteamedCrabs
Our moniker was STREET TRASH. I was out voted soon after and we ended up with a pretty crappy name. The band didn't last long. If we had kept the name, and been any good, that could have been quite a legacy the film had.... We were really awful musicians though. Had some kick ass lyrics mind.

It's the real thing.

from the glory days of FANGORIA. Glad I still have all my old issues. I need to get my hands on a copy of STREET TRASH one of these days.

But on the subject of John carter tanking I'd have to say that Disney is and has always been the king of blockbuster flop makers when it comes to live action. They don't just make flops- they make monumental industry altering flops. Tron set back digital by 10 years. You guys that hate digital woulda loved 2 Tron flops. Well you kinda got 2..
