Angelina Jolie's MALEFICENT May Have Found Its Sleeping Beauty
The Kidd here...
With Disney scheduled to start production on MALEFICENT, the live-action Sleeping Beauty tale told from the evil queen's perspective, in June, it's a bit necessary for The Mouse to move with some quickness in nailing down an actress to play the comatose princess opposite Angelina Jolie's titular role.
Enter Elle Fanning.
Last seen in Cameron Crowe's WE BOUGHT A ZOO, Fanning is a younger actress with at least some name value, which is what I think Disney was looking for here. It's not like she's going to have to do much, as a great deal of the film is believed to revolve around Maleficent, with Princess Aurora taking quite the lengthy nap throughout the film. However, in the time she is awake, an actress who can hold her own against Jolie is necessary, and it looks like Fanning fits the bill, according to Twitch, unless her negotiations with The Mouse somehow break down.

And she was also the best thing in Super 8 (with the rest of the kids)... aside from the LENSFLARE on Elle's nose when she was getting some make-up on it.

Kung fu movies aren't awful, but she just provides a voice. The Good Shepherd is an excellent movie, go see it if you haven't. I know it's not much to back her up, but not everything she's done has been awful (just most of it)

My adopted son could have been normal had his birth mother not made a conscious decision to drink like a fish during her pregnancy. But she's definitely too young for the role of Sleeping Beaty. She's 13-years-old! Princess Aurora (if they're not gonna change her name) is 16 when she pricks her finger. Whatever...Elle has a massive future ahead of her IMO. She was very believable in Super 8 and actually made me well up with her performance...shame the movie as a whole was a big FAIL from Abrams! Alright...it's okay for the first 30-60mins, then goes awful.

She's a fantastic actress, and still so young! She can have a fantastic career, if she plays her cards right and if adolescence doesn't turn her into an idiot, as it has happened before with promising young stars in the past. And she is going to grow into a stuningly beautiful woman as well. This one will be for keeps.

It counts as one of my most enjoyed movies of the last several years, and that hasn't diminished at all with time or multiple viewings. Seriously, what is it that is wrong with this movie? It seems to capture a great spirit of 80's film making, and it gets right what was good about that style while mostly leaving behind what didn't work so well.

the problem with SUPER I8 is that it didn't do any of the things you claim it did. Only the movie's advertizement makes claims to this supposed achievements, the movie itself lacks every single one of them. SUPER 8 is another movie in which presents the victory of maketing hype over result, as so often is with anything in JJ Abrams career.
